My mom has been working for the last 35 years for a company that truly doesn't deserve how hard she works. She's got a new job that she's starting in March. This video is perfect! Thank you for how concise and to the point this video is 🥰💯👏
After months of addressing issues concerning my pay I finally walked out! Pretty unprofessional but the amount of personal emotions the owner took out on me was jaw dropping! Toxic! I’m glad I walked away before they could take advantage of my time more than they have!
Damn, She is good! I needed that little pep talk! I feel almost guilty for giving my 2 weeks notice or for a lot of things I do in life, probably due to how I was raised and put down alot of the time by a family member, so those feelings come back when doing things like this to better myself. I probably wouldn't feel so bad if we weren't so short staffed, but like she pointed out, it's not out problem and it's just a job. I just get so attached to the people that I worked with, it's just hard to walk away and leave them with even more they have to do, besides having them do my job too. Sometimes I hate that I wear my heart on my sleeve and feel so bad when I can't try to help others even when they are my coworkers (friends from work) but I know it's time to walk away and leave this place behind. Especially when something better comes along and so many others higher up in the company have given there notice too.
i was about to give in my 2 weeks notice at work last week, as i strongly disliked working under my boss, however the day before i was planning on doing this, the Regional Manager (my bosses boss) group called the team i worked in and told me that my boss was just let go and was no longer part of the Company. No reason given, just gone. To say i felt relieved is an understatement. Nothing worse than working under a boss who bosses, rather than a leader who leads.
Leadership is not a skill everyone has. The bosses I like recognize the skillet of each employee and learn to listen to employees they know are most proficient in an area of work before making a reasoned decision.
Agreed. I absolutely love what I do. But when it went corporate and management changed, the culture changed. People don't typically leave jobs, they leave the people at those jobs.
That's a you thing. I've been frustrated with my company, but the best you can do is take a step back, look at the situation, and recognize if you won't be able to get anywhere with a conversation.
Thank you , Erin! I just recently put in my 2 weeks for a job I’ve been at for 6 years and I’m ready to move on. I’m a people pleaser, so the process has been really scary, but also exciting. This video was really encouraging!
Dear Rachel, I am sending you my support! I am working to become less people pleaser, and on self-improvement journey I found out that most people we try to please - they actually have done nothing for our benefit (help, support, any return on our contribution to them...) , so most of them are not worthy to continue giving out our energy and actions to benefit them. Have a nice and prosperous day. 🙂
I drove to the office at lunch (was WFH that day) and turned in my equipment to HR. Didn’t even tell my manager. Told HR that I didn’t feel comfortable even talking to that manager. That was it. Called my favorite peeps left (2 people) and told them I was gone. No regrets.
Not everyone leaves a job for more money. I work as a part time nanny, tutor and babysitter. I got a part time job at a grocery store to help fill in my schedule while I was building up my connections. (I moved to where my now husband already lived) I told them from the jump I was looking for 15 to 25 hours a week. The lady in the department kept scheduling me for 25 to 35 hours. I put in my 2 weeks. She told me I could do just 2 days a week. After a while, she was pressuring me/scheduling me for more hours. I finally just put in my 2 weeks. I lasted over 6 months. I had been turning away a lot of childcare jobs due to my schedule there. I've been working every day since I left there a week ago.
If it were you own kid, I'd understand it, but I don't understand why any employer would hire you in the first place with those previous time commitments.
When I left my last job, I voiced out my reasons with HR at my exit interview. The exit interview was 2 days before my last day, at the team meeting the next day, HR was in the meeting explaining some of the employees concerns she heard, while she didn’t say my name, it did made me extremely uncomfortable and solidified I made the right decision
Erin!! This is perfect timing!! You helped me get my first job out of school and while it was a great learning experience, I’m ready for the next step. Super happy and grateful to have your help in this next chapter and in I’m sure many more chapters. ❤
Most companies, once you put in your resignation you're basically dead to them. They can also lay you off at any time and not blink an eye. Ive never felt bad (and in some cases not even givin notice) when leaving for a better opportunity. They wouldn't think twice about getting rid of you - if times were tough or you weren't making them a fortune. No point in showing any sort of compassion that won't ever be returned.
Yes! Don’t take anything that belongs to the company, and don’t steal customers or do harm. Over a week or two, print out kudos and evidence of accomplishments, etc. and take home personal belongings. Then if the walk you out, you won’t have to clean your desk out while they hover and then walk you out with a cardboard box and no goodbyes.
I’m quitting in January 2025, taking early retirement. This is helpful, I don’t plan on telling them anything except that ‘it’s time.’ We have a big turnaround in our department so I don’t think they’ll be surprised.
I've watched quite a few quitting videos over the past year or so as my job is a pressure cooker and the YT algo reads my thoughts, but this one really stands out to me because none of them framed quitting as a professional transaction. It's like you broke a spell that I was under and my perspective changed within the span of, like, 15 seconds. I was going to quite anyway having spent time saving and preparing, but this will greatly lower my anxiety around it and will likely make it happen sooner. Thank you
I have always just written a letter giving 2 weeks notice. Very vague and I always thank them for the opportunity and apologize for any inconveniences. Then keep up my work ethic and treat every one of the last days as a normal one. In my industry a lot of the owners tell you to leave that day haha. The larger companies are more chill about it.
I am searching for how to quit a job you like, and came across this video. It has everything! How to address professionally, if you have the I don't want to disappoint or suffer guilt for quitting. It addresses every aspect, offers great wording. I feel I'm pretty equipped to give this resignation and not suffer guilt, and will be able to effectively respond to every angle. I also do not want to tell them where I am going. Will need to see more on this "professionally."
This video helped me so much! I was feeling guilty but you made me feel more confident in my decision. I also used your script and luckily my manager was wonderful
I quit my job recently and my boss said “well I don’t want anyone who doesn’t want to work for me here anyway.” That can tell you what the work environment was like 😅
@@KIWIMADNEZThat would have been a great response! I honestly was so nervous quitting because I don’t have a new job yet. I didn’t want to end on bad terms. Three weeks after quitting I got a job offer for Wells Fargo and now I am so happy!
Your making it so much easier for me ive been at my current job for awhile im just a detailer at a dealership but that makes me connected to almost everyone there because its private owned. I do respect my boss liked him until a couple months ago. Im worried im going to get the "your totally blindsiding me." Line. Im really just done with how much they work us. The conditions suck! I got a job offer for 4 dollars more an hr at start and benefits start the day after i do. And HUGE OP TO MOVE UP AND CLIMB LADDERS which my current job i kinda showed them i can detail like a mad man and cant get out the wash bay. Thank you so much for your video
Thank you for making the video Erin! I remember when I quit my first job about 2 years ago I felt like I could’ve handled it better. The job I have currently I know for a fact it isn’t going to be my dream job but there will be one day where I’m ready to move on. I’ll be sure to keep this video in mind when making the transition. ❤
Same in Poland.. from 2 weeks up to 3 months notice, depends on the years spent in the company. And you can skip that only if both sides agree to leave earlier.
I sent my resignation, and the manager sent an email saying i did it incorrectly, and my "last day" would be the day after my last day worked. Man, i never did anything right at this job.
I did the same thing 2 years ago after 30 years as an RN. I refused to get the Jab and instead, put in my retirement paperwork. HR was mad because I didn't give them 2 weeks notice. I told HR that since they threaten to fire me for not getting the Jab and not giving me 2 weeks notice, I was showing them that same courtesy. 😂
Thank you so much for all you do and all you share. You are so articulate, confirming, and informed. You share information in a way that really makes sense for me. I love you- I know that’s weird to tell a “stranger”. I have a lot of love in my heart for you 💖🙏
I’ve seen an employment lawyer on here say to avoid exit interviews because HR just uses them to put in your file to protect themselves against future lawsuits you might bring. They skew it as you’re just a disgruntled employee. And my place took an exit interview SHREDDING our manager (rightfully so) and they just handed it over to the manager in full. It called out other employees that could corroborate the statements and agreed with the ex -employee. They just gave that to the toxic manager. WHO READ IT WORD FOR WORD TO THE EMPLOYEES MENTIONED IN THE INTERVIEW AS CORROBORATING THAT INTERVIEW. Sooooooooo toxic and grossly inappropriate.
@@pbj0815 thank you! I blanked on his name when I was posting. I really appreciate his content. I politely declined the request (multiple requests actually) from HR for an exit interview. I told them that they are already well aware of the issues the company has and they’ve had no interest so far in fixing them so I didn’t feel that my exit interview would change anything and I flat out told them I didn’t trust them to keep things appropriately anonymous and that my remaining coworkers would then face retaliation so no go from me. A couple weeks later I was proved right when HR handed over the next person to quit’s exit interview to the manager who read it out loud to the people he named in it as being witness to the issues he was reporting.
@queenbey6678 Great advice! Right after I left one of my coworkers was upset at how it went down and asked to meet with our manager. They asked to record the conversation and it went BADLY. Head of HR was called in immediately and it turned into a dogpile on the employee who then quit abruptly a few days later too. I felt bad but they should have checked first. Michigan is an interesting state. It’s sort of one party consent but sort of not. It’s technically one participant state. Meaning you can’t record a conversation you’re not part of even if one of those parties gives consent unless all involved parties consent. But you can record a conversation you’re part of without disclosure because as a participant you have consented to the recording. Wish he knew that going in. Not that it would have made a difference. On the day I quit he texted me that he was already being gunned for by the manager because she didn’t like that he stood up for himself and she probably wanted him gone.
@@camscornerbooksI live in Michigan too and you’re right My mom quit her job with a toxic boss and did an exit interview. After that, the company taxed her DOUBLE. She filed a lawsuit and the company used her interview against her. She ended up losing a lot of money. A few months later, that company went under and it no longer exists
@@trowwzers5057 oh that’s horrible!! I’m so sorry to hear what she went through. Honestly there should be laws in place on how companies can or can’t use exit interviews to protect employees who blow the whistle. Every one of my coworkers who quit before me I begged for them to do an exit interview hoping it would help the rest of us left behind but I eventually realized it could only hurt them and I’m glad none of them did it.
I am quitting my extremely toxic workplace for many reasons, but I've been so scared to do it that I made my other, better work place upset due to how the toxic one is trying to get me fired at the good one.
Where I live the notice period is 2 - 3 month (both ways). There is the possibility for them to fire you without notice but they still have to pay you for these 2 months.
One thing I struggle with would be me announcing my leave and boss jokingly saying "oh, we werent enough for you?". I dont know how to respond to things like that.
You just slip out the back, Jack Make a new plan, Stan You don't need to be coy, Roy Just get yourself free Hop on the bus, Gus You don't need to discuss much Just drop off the key, Lee And get yourself free
Signed and delivered? The new job can always rescind your offer even after all agreement signed and your work laptop delivered to your home! I know someone this happened to!
The "work world" is much smaller than you might think. Just like you might know many people that work at other companies, so does your boss. You want to make unprofessional comments to the "boss from Hell" on your way out? Cool, don't be surprised if he gives your new boss a call to warn him about how horrible you are or even give his best effort to damage your reputation before you even start your new job. I have seen people try to kill someone's new job offer because they are so upset that someone is leaving them. That is why it is so important you keep it professional on the way out of your old job, don't vent to your old boss on the way out, don't make any comments on social media, and keep the ranting to a minimum as you exit. I'd recommend you not tell your boss or coworkers where you are going; just politely don't offer that piece of information. After you have left your old job and have settled in to your new role, then reach out to your old coworkers and post on social media if you want them to know the details.
This is all well and good but when you are in a toxic work environment and a smear campaign has already commenced on your reputation, sometimes all you can do is quit on the spot. Any advice on this?
Same!. Toxic environment and all .. resigned by giving in my two week notice and what do I get in return? My boss fires me the next day ... And now I can't use her as a reference because I know she won't be giving me a good one because she's being petty
It was so bad for me that I didn't give 2 weeks' notice because of mental health reasons. I had been there for 7 years but a new Manager came in and was toxic af. Now I can't use them as a reference either; however, I use my former supervisor who worked with me longer before the new manager came in. Such a mess! And it ruins so many lives!@@BabyYass
They cannot fire you can they? Because you gave your resignation first. The transition was just a courtesy. Or how does it work in your country? There will always be people like that 😂 you wouldnt want a character reference from them
@@bbch088 well, she thought if she could fire me after I resign she doesn't have to pay me anything. She ended up having to pay me 2 weeks as if I was there working. She thought she was playing smart 🤦🏽♀️ Ps. Country: Canada 🇨🇦 Toronto Ontario Ps ps. The 2 week notice was part of the contract.
@@BabyYassI mean you have job experience and also you could do volunteer work for a bit to get recommended. I know this isn’t a fool proof solution but I’m sure there has to be a way to get a job. I know this is hard especially if you need to pay bills but at this point I’m really tired of toxic people pulling the strings on ruining employees rep. There has to be a way.
Thank you so much. My boss actually did "the guilt trip" on me and ask me to "fix" my leaving notice of one month to two months...and then she proceeded to insult me. Totally not fixing that 😊.
6:15 Also, taking the counter-offer is a bit of a trap. It gives them more time to find your replacement to then drop you later... When you also don't have a new job lined up. They may offer a small bonus instead of a pay bump. This (like a signing bonus) is also a bit of a trap, as future raises are often based as a percent of your pay - without bonuses. A bonus in lieu of a pay raise puts you permanently on a "shallower path" in raises going forward.
Good advice though I disagree with the last step - when you tell your boss you are quitting hand them your resignation. Don't tell them and then go back and write it. Finalize the process right then - if they walk you out then you won't have a chance to write a resignation and they can make up whatever story they want about why you left.
The only thing I’m concerned with is waiting for my sterling background check. I was given a start date later this month with salary given, and they will mail my equipment to work from home. So I have 2 weeks and 2 days to give notice, however, from what I read, I feel safer to wait for the documents to sign to cement the offer, before I put my notice.
I just quit my job as a daycare assistant, and it broke my heart so so so much because it was genuinely the best job I've ever had, besides the salary being a tad lower. But I worked there for nearly a year, and I kept getting so so so sick, past the point of it feeling reasonable, despite going into childcare. My immune system was not getting stronger, it felt like it was getting worse. Just the number of times I got strwp alone was insane, not including every other illness imaginable. I still dont want to leave 😭
Hi Erin! I am a manager at a mid-size company and I am switching jobs because my current workload is unmanageable and it's leading to health problems (tons of stress and anxiety). I do the job of approximately 3 people and the culture is also very "rules for thee but not for me," and well, toxic. Although I love a lot of the people that I work with, I want a job that will allow me to get control of my life and my health (flexible), that is remote, has a specific list of tasks - like a data analyst position, copywriter- , etc, where I can feel I am providing value and not always rushing to just get things done. I want a culture that values me and my contributions and not by how fast I reply to emails or how late I stay "hustling." I have a decade of experience, so in my situation, how would you address the question - why do you want to change jobs? in an interview, thanks!
I have an interview tomorrow, hopefully I get the job!! so incase I do get it, I’m doing my research on how to quit. My job is great just wasn’t for me.
If you give your two week's notice and the company offers you a significant raise... like really significant... I'd be wondering why you weren't being paid more in the first place... especially if you had been previously asking for a raise. The only exception I can think of was an employee was leaving because she felt she had reached the ceiling in the company's payroll and the company countered by offering a one-year partnership with the eventuality of selling her the business, which she accepted and now runs on her own successfully.
Damn, I'm so jealous that in the US you can just decide to leave your job and do it whenever you want. After couple years of working for my current company I'm legally obligated to stay for another 3 months after giving a notice. It makes applying for a new job almost impossible, because most companies won't wait 3+ months. 😢
That's why you save up enough money for two or three months' expenses, give your notice, and start putting in applications a few weeks before your time is done. If everything lines up, you can start your new job right away. If you haven't found something by the time your old job ends, then at least you have bought yourself some time to keep looking.
In India notice period is 3 months at most places. You can ‘request’ for shorter notice to company but its not the employee’s right. Moreover , Its like working on another job for 3 months while already on notice period.
Great advice Erin! I'm curious what your take is on what I call the "reference dilemma". I was once in a situation where a prospective employer requested 2 managerial references and since I had been at the current company for so long it was a bit tricky since 1. I didn't want to ask my current manager to be a reference for a position that I had yet to be formally offered and 2. I haven't been in touch with a previous manager in several years. It was suggested to me to ask the future employer to only contact the reference if they fully intend to make me an offer so as to not fully jeopardize my current job.
I was paid to do what I love for a living for 25 years. I essentially felt paid to do my hobby. For whatever reason, I recently lost interest, and not gradually! The thought of attending another early morning safety meeting or conducting another weekly conference call suddenly felt like torture. My boss called with a complaint one day, and I told him I had enough. I may go ahead and take SS and just do something completely different on a part-time basis.
In my email: “I am sorry to announce that I am resigning from my position as _______. My last day will be _______. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work here.” Short, sweet, and to the point.
Some great tips in this video but the mouse clicking is VERY distracting. The scripts are also helpful as a guide but you having to read them off your computer for this video is a good reminder that they are only a guide. Also, a quick note that your required notice period may be in your contract which you have to consider as well.
Today I left my badge and office keys on my desk and emailed my resignation letter after my shift. In the letter I asked to mail my check to my address (even though I filed a direct deposit) two days prior). I will mail them my parking pass and make sure to have them sign it. However, I received a voicemail stating to come into the office and sign a formal resignation letter in order for them to release my check. Seriously? I choose to be at peace with all this.
How can one protect oneself in the situation when one accepted and signed the new opportunity and then the new opportunity rescind your offer after putting the two weeks notice?
When she said "evergreen" letters of recommendation, I believe she meant evergreen as in "forever relevant" definition. An "evergreen letter of recommendation" is one that is still valid no matter how old it is, so I would guess some aspects are generic (like not specifying dates, and talking more about the person's qualities than their specific job).
When I quit this one job , it was far from professional. I cussed out my boss , told him f himself and have a good day . I not only burned that bridge I burned the ashes to that bridge. It’s a long story, I’m usually the type to bite my tongue but my buttons were pushed .
If they fire you immediately after receiving your two weeks notice assuming you’re good standing, you were technically qualified for unemployment correct?
Exit interview is a waste of time. They are not too concerned with what you have to say if you’re leaving. The things you mention in an exit interview will not be applied, so it’s best to say nothing when leaving

I dont think its ever NOT personal...I put my heart and soul into my profession
better look for the balance and boundaries then :P
Agreed. I absolutely love what I do. But when it went corporate and management changed, the culture changed.
People don't typically leave jobs, they leave the people at those jobs.
Gayyyyy
I’m doing the same thing rn. It’s a toxic work place and I’m scared to quit that people will hate me
I drove to the office at lunch (was WFH that day) and turned in my equipment to HR. Didn’t even tell my manager. Told HR that I didn’t feel comfortable even talking to that manager. That was it. Called my favorite peeps left (2 people) and told them I was gone. No regrets.
Like a boss! 😂 I love this! 😊 #micdrop
Luigi approach is still better. You wanna feel hard? Settle disputes with lead.
Thats messed up
The only thing I would change is: gather all the stats, portfolio, etc... before giving notice. Just in case your employer walks you out immediately.
Thank you
By law at will employees do not have to give two weeks notice. It’s just a courtesy to help the company transition to a new person.
You say “watch this!” And walk away 🤣
Joe Biden said "watch me" and then walked away... He got forced out of his job lol.
Can I just say your storytelling skills are great. I felt like I was talking to my good Judy. I will put all your advice into practice.😊
Sounds like a lot of steps where in reality "I am leaving my last working day will be 2 weeks from now" is all that is needed.
Will need to see more on this "professionally."
used the words in this video thankfully my employer took it well. thank you for this video. from Nigeria ❤❤
This video helped me so much! I was feeling guilty but you made me feel more confident in my decision. I also used your script and luckily my manager was wonderful
I quit my job recently and my boss said “well I don’t want anyone who doesn’t want to work for me here anyway.” That can tell you what the work environment was like 😅
“And I won’t work for an employer who can’t control their emotions…”
Holy cow!
@@KIWIMADNEZThat would have been a great response! I honestly was so nervous quitting because I don’t have a new job yet. I didn’t want to end on bad terms. Three weeks after quitting I got a job offer for Wells Fargo and now I am so happy!
Dumb?

I’m so lucky to have an awesome boss!
in my job (in Japan now) I have to give a 3 months notice (It's in my contract) ...
I quit my job as a nurse and never want to look back!
Ryan is correct. Do not give them an exit interview!!
@@camscornerbooksI live in Michigan too and you’re right
My mom quit her job with a toxic boss and did an exit interview.
This is such a wise video! Thank you! You're helping me out with it. And although I don't live in the States I foung it extremely useful.
I am quitting my extremely toxic workplace for many reasons, but I've been so scared to do it that I made my other, better work place upset due to how the toxic one is trying to get me fired at the good one.
Thank you. I needed to hear this today. I just put my 2 weeks in yesterday. The reaction from them was ugly.
Please elaborate. Was it. Toxic environment 🤔
I live in an at will state. There is no notice given by the company and there is no requirement for you to give notice when you leave.
Where I live the notice period is 2 - 3 month (both ways). There is the possibility for them to fire you without notice but they still have to pay you for these 2 months.
Mine is an at will state. I don’t owe the company anything.
That's not what right to work means
One thing I struggle with would be me announcing my leave and boss jokingly saying "oh, we werent enough for you?". I dont know how to respond to things like that.
You leave management not duties
You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
Lol 50 ways to leave your lover and job are very similar 😂
If you take the counteroffer, expect smaller raises in the future as they will gradually claw it back
I’ve decided to start working with a recruiter last night. I look forward to gracefully quitting.
Signed and delivered? The new job can always rescind your offer even after all agreement signed and your work laptop delivered to your home! I know someone this happened to!
Thank you!!! I needed this advice right now.
This is a great video - thank you. Also, I love the snippets from the Office.
Look, its a job. They owe you nothing, you owe them nothing.
She thought she was playing smart 🤦🏽♀️
Ps. Country: Canada 🇨🇦 Toronto Ontario
Ps ps.
I usually just put my tool box in my car and left. In 46 yrs, I probably quit 6 of my 13 jobs.
Thankk you for your content!
Thank you so much. My boss actually did "the guilt trip" on me and ask me to "fix" my leaving notice of one month to two months...and then she proceeded to insult me.
Totally not fixing that 😊.
Exacly what i need in this new year 👐
Great advice as always, thank you, Erin! ❤
Godd i really needed this ❤️❤️ thank you so much. You have given me so much confidence 🥳 love from India 🥳❤️
Could you maybe make a video about how to be honest but professional in an exit interview?
I just left my job. Tried to have a chat with my boss but was put off so i just emailed the resignation letter.
Thank you Erin. This is very helpful ❤
Me to my boss: i hate everything about you and this company and i don't want to be here anymore
Fuck giving my 2 weeks, I know If I tell them they’re gonna fire me anyways. Never give 2 weeks! Just quit!
So what do you do? Quit on the spot? Ghost them?
It was strange to hear that notice period was 2 weeks. I was used to a minimum of 1 month, in some cases 3 months
I sure hope I can use this soon! ❤
I’m in Canada and it’s pretty much exactly the same way you would quit here as well.😊
I feel guilty for some reason. I just got offered a dream job, and I’m struggling to submit a notice .
I have an interview tomorrow, hopefully I get the job!! so incase I do get it, I’m doing my research on how to quit. My job is great just wasn’t for me.
I've turned down a $2/hr counter offer, i agree it's not wise to accept the counter offer.
Sometimes more money is more headache
If you give your two week's notice and the company offers you a significant raise... like really significant... I'd be wondering why you weren't being paid more in the first place... especially if you had been previously asking for a raise. The only exception I can think of was an employee was leaving because she felt she had reached the ceiling in the company's payroll and the company countered by offering a one-year partnership with the eventuality of selling her the business, which she accepted and now runs on her own successfully.
I start liking your video editor 😂
I feel like my boss will just say "ok" 😅
great advice, thanks for sharing
Can recommend from experience if you don’t trust your boss, ask for a written reference. Means they can't blindside you.
In India its is 90 days notice period.
Just walk in to your boss's office and hand him any company property and say, "My watch has ended." Then walk out the door.
Thanks Erin. You seem to always have my work related back when I have a question. 😂
In my email:
“I am sorry to announce that I am resigning from my position as _______. My last day will be _______. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work here.”
Short, sweet, and to the point.
Some great tips in this video but the mouse clicking is VERY distracting.
The scripts are also helpful as a guide but you having to read them off your computer for this video is a good reminder that they are only a guide.
Also, a quick note that your required notice period may be in your contract which you have to consider as well.
Any advice for Aussies, personally or vicariously?😅
Today I left my badge and office keys on my desk and emailed my resignation letter after my shift. In the letter I asked to mail my check to my address (even though I filed a direct deposit) two days prior). I will mail them my parking pass and make sure to have them sign it. However, I received a voicemail stating to come into the office and sign a formal resignation letter in order for them to release my check. Seriously? I choose to be at peace with all this.
How can one protect oneself in the situation when one accepted and signed the new opportunity and then the new opportunity rescind your offer after putting the two weeks notice?
How do you ask for what you want in a workplace setting eg being assertive and confident
great video
hi erin make one video for people who got fired
What was it you said about letter of recommendation in Evergreen? Beg your pardon, but what is Evergreen?
When she said "evergreen" letters of recommendation, I believe she meant evergreen as in "forever relevant" definition. An "evergreen letter of recommendation" is one that is still valid no matter how old it is, so I would guess some aspects are generic (like not specifying dates, and talking more about the person's qualities than their specific job).
When I quit this one job , it was far from professional. I cussed out my boss , told him f himself and have a good day . I not only burned that bridge I burned the ashes to that bridge. It’s a long story, I’m usually the type to bite my tongue but my buttons were pushed .
If they fire you immediately after receiving your two weeks notice assuming you’re good standing, you were technically qualified for unemployment correct?
this popped up on my recommended the day I am going to an interview for a new job. lmao
Exit interview is a waste of time. They are not too concerned with what you have to say if you’re leaving. The things you mention in an exit interview will not be applied, so it’s best to say nothing when leaving
I made mistake giving 2 weeks notice to a job I left and knowing never going back because they are slowly dying and maybe out buisness
