16'x48' with 9 ft. high walls is a great idea to make one big LONG house. I would go to 10 or 12 ft. hgh walls to make up for the narrow width, and give the "cathedral ceiling" effect, with glass French Doors instead of half-size windows. This allows the sunlight to stream in across the floor and the entire space and you can still put furniture in front of them (they don't have to function as doors but can whenever you want!). The whole house could be done in stages as finances permit. Love the additons you added to both sides of the house with the barn / gable roof center. Great videos and so inspiring. No doubt one of the best floor plans I have seen. Being disabled I would need my bedroom to be on the lower level like yours, no ladder lofts. But your stairs lofts are incredible!!! I would have my washer & dryer inside, & that AWESOME living room space a tv with fireplace. I am soooo wanting to move & already live mobile home small so I have no issues with the 980sq ft I have... Just the ability & funds to do this is in the way. I need warmer weather for health reasons!!! 😢
Had the idea to convert a shed as well but unsure if it’s more affordable/possible in my city. Awesome to see one bright to life. Not too small and not too big. Kids get their own room and restroom. Mommy and daddy have privacy. Perfect🤓
Thank you very much Chris! Just start with learning your local city, county, and state codes. And if you are in a highly restricted location..... then you'll have to move like we did!
I can't believe you guys are embarrassed that there are a few things not complete. This house rocks and gives me great hope that I can do something a little less complicated as a retirement home! Also your hubby works incredibly hard and you guys are very lucky!
My husband and I have been going back and forth about doing a shed to house. I’ve been hesitant about the amount of space we would have with 3 children and 2 dogs. This gives me so many ideas and shows me it can really be done. My husband thanks you!
I do the same thing for pictures lol do a diy and everyone is like let's see and I'm like ok and 30 minutes later I send 4 picture of the room with it spotless I either clean it up or r move everything out of the way for pictures

Thank you for inviting us to see your home. It's really nice. I had a thought that the wires for your stairs to the loft could be painted in a rainbow sequence at some point. Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, and Gray would be an option. And perhaps some night lights on the stairs.

Hello, This is the first time that I've watched U & Ur Tiny House. it looked very nice. I'm sure it has taken a min. to get things looking as good as they do right now, but hey everything worth having takes time.... I wish when Iwas much younger that we would have had a tiny house, but then I would have lost it when my first husband & I got a divorce, but anyway, I'm So very Happy for U & Ur family.. Ur home is just right & perfect for all of U...... Thank You for sharing....
You guys have rocked this past year!! Great job on all your hard work. LOVE your home. LOVE your videos. My mom and dad had 9 kids and all lived in a 1,000 sq. foot home. Lots of peeing outside with one bathroom...didnt matter boy or girl. Pee away! Greetings from Wisconsin. Love you guys. Keep doing an awesome job. 😊
Peeing outside is just better. I suppose if you're a female it's only really practical if you wear dresses or skirts. But being a guy I walk right past the bathroom many times a day to go do my business outside much more enjoyable that way
My wife and I are so ready to retire. Headed toward empty nest, years. This video makes us ready to add a matching 12x24 shed next to our existing 12x24 shed room. Wishing to Stealing so many ideas, ikea kitchen pine and ikea bath sink! Thanks, you are motivational.
No judgement! So glad to know you're just like us! The house is beautiful! You all have done an amazing job and making great memories for the kids. May God continue to bless and keep you. ♥️♥️
💡Once saw a cool hack where a big dog crate was put under a rustic IKEA pine table placed in a corner. (They removed some legs & mounted part on walls to get crate to fit.) The top became a lovely display & staging area. She added pretty curtains along 2 visible sides to conceal crate too, but you could skip that. IKEA has table tops to match your Kallax unit (next to it) that you might be able to put on top of your crate. All that to say, this could give you an extra landing place on top for keys, baskets/bins for incoming/outgoing items (like mail, library books) or decor, lighting, etc. Makes a fine roof for 🐕.
I was thinking the same thing. They also make "grip dip" that you can paint on cables since it would be a nightmare to put shrink wrap on those after they have been put in place.
@@BlindLemonFishStix there is liquid electrical tape. It has an applicator brush on the lid to paint a rubberized coating onto wires. It works well for wires exposed to moisture. Eg. Boats. It would work well for this too.
@OldPossum No different from the process we use to build gates around pens on the farm. So, yea, some of us do know what we are talking about. This was done badly and it will be a hazard unless it is somehow "dressed". After it has been assembled it is hard to do anything. If they had thought about it ahead of time, they could have put electrical shrink wrap or some other type of cover. After the fact, it is just more difficult. But, they are learning as they go. They will do better next time after the frayed ends of the cable snag flesh or someone's favorite sweater.
You did very well with your shed (house) really I love it. I love the kids room. That was alot of work. That's better than the house already made up. Look at the money you saved. Plus when you do it, it's way better made than factory. 👍 great job.
I love your shed house. This actually gives me an idea of the design and layout I would love to have in our own house someday when we move to a different property. Love this! Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi. Do you have your dimensions of each room? We are building a 16x40 and doing a similar layout but would love a visual on room sizes
You can do it Diane!!!!!!
i love the absolute love and family bond yall have...this is something that has been lost in the new age way of life. family first ...true inspiration
Oh yay Leah!!!!!!! Thank you soooooo much!!!! 😁
Enjoy your beautiful home. What a great job. But what I love best of all is how happy you are as a family. Congratulations.
I could love living in that house. You have the space for lots of outdoor activities and a beautiful home. Congrats!!
Awesome job! I noticed you have my size dog crate 😊 I just moved ours under the stairs, and modified the area and crate to work.
Beautiful home. Everyone needs to downsize their life. We enjoy living tiny in our RV. It is living what means not living within means.
Love it!!!!!
i love how easy the plans are in *WoodBlueprints. Com* to understand and the step-by-step videos they have. Makes getting material really easy
This is a lovely home. I love the cheerful disposition of the couple. The lady of the home conducted this like a radio/tv personality. Very well done!
Haha, that’s why I put HER on camera for things like this. I tend to make awkward jokes too much! 🤣🤣
Lydia, you are SOOOOO WELCOME!
We didn’t show it in this video, but that outside laundry room is the life saver!!
Love how you showed the stuff that you had hid. Keep it real. We are in the middle of building a tiny home and appreciated your video!
It's beautiful. Great job! I wish it was mine.
I appreciate your honesty toward the end of the video. :-)
I do the same thing for pictures lol do a diy and everyone is like let's see and I'm like ok and 30 minutes later I send 4 picture of the room with it spotless I either clean it up or r move everything out of the way for pictures
congratulations I am so happy for you all. You are such a real down to earth great family. I love you both. May God continue to bless and keep you. You have your priorities all in order. Love your wit.!!!!!!😄
the last part is my favorite😂 so candid...so true...everybody does that😂😂 hiding the mess😂
Thank you for inviting us to see your home. It's really nice. I had a thought that the wires for your stairs to the loft could be painted in a rainbow sequence at some point. Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, and Gray would be an option. And perhaps some night lights on the stairs.
Oooooo those are great ideas!!
Lol love it! And I would have to move things in my home and it’s just the wife and myself.
G'day from down under, I just adore your channel I watch from 🇦🇺 and we have decided to embark on a Aussie homestead journey and blog 2 Middle Agers starting what they should have done back 30 years ago as was our dream however were talked out of by family. So here we go we are 50 and 47 and will be selling up in suburbia and moving to a small acreage. It's daunting but we won't wait and live with regrets anymore. So will be continuing to watch and support your channel. Keep keeping on you bring joy to my life ♥
I love your home. And all the things you have done in it.cant wait to see more videos thanks for the tour
I love how real this is!! And I love that you have kids! thanks for spear-heading it for those of us with families!!!
you've done a terrific amazing job on that house you and your husband your house is beautiful don't let anyone tell you any different God bless your family
when i built our shed i used a plan from *WoodBlueprints. Com* and it had all the blueprints, supplies, materials, and list well laid out for me.
Thank you soooooo much Karen!!!! We have really enjoyed having you with us!!!! You’re AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you soooooo much Karen!!!! We have really enjoyed having you with us!!!! You’re AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful! Love the fact that there are two bathrooms. No judging. Houses are made to be lived in. AWESOME JOB!
No judgement! So glad to know you're just like us! The house is beautiful! You all have done an amazing job and making great memories for the kids. May God continue to bless and keep you. ♥️♥️
I love it! You have a beautiful home!
Thank you so much Violet!!
My honest opinion, the first tiny house accommodating kids, that I absolutely love
Oh thank you so much!!
Looks amazing!! The railing and that rug in the living room 🥰
Thank you so much Megan!! It was so great to meet you this weekend!! -Beau
Yes, gorgeous ceiling
I would put electrical shrink wrap over the frayed ends of the cable on the staircase handrails. It could save a hand or finger from getting cut.
I was thinking exactly the same thing! You wouldn't be a crafter would you?!
@@christineleblanc9281 it was just an observation.
I'm not a crafter.
I've built decks and a room addition.
You guys are too cute! And I think the signage over the door says it all. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Oh thank you Linda.....you are so correct. We love love love that sign!!
I love the stairs
I love your shed house. This actually gives me an idea of the design and layout I would love to have in our own house someday when we move to a different property. Love this! Thank you so much for sharing.
