I repaired a $300 tablet with this guide. The battery had swelled up (that happens if you keep it constantly plugged in, I found) and saved me the trouble of prying off the screen. Materials cost about $50, as others have noted. That's a big savings over what taking it to a repair shop would have cost. Thanks!!
Watching the video gave me the confidence to do this myself. The replacement was easy. I first thought that I was going to buy a new tablet or take it to a repair shop. The battery kit and clamps and glue was about $40 bucks
Thanks! I replaced the battery on my tablet with a puffed battery that popped an edge of the screen. I only had to pry three sides of the screen. Battery kit and tape was about $23. It was way cheaper than a repair shop.
After replacing the battery, my screen came on but the touch function didn't work, so it was useless. I then did a hard restart by pressing and holding the power and volume-down buttons for ten seconds. Once it booted back up, the touch function worked again. Great success! I figured others may have the same problem.
although I had already purchased a small tool kit containing all the necessary items to complete this task, whan my new battery arrived, it also included everything needed to perform this replacement task... how thoughtful of the battery manufacturer ...😁
This video really helped me. On the A7 I have, the battery was held in with something like command strips with little tabs sticking out to pull and release the battery. The kit i bought from Amazon just had double-sided tape to secure the replacement.
@Letsfigureitout-bj9fo in my case, the battery was swelling up, so it started pushing the screen out. I was worried that the battery might start a fire, so got the repair kit and figured I would give it a try.
Why should it be neccessary to remove the screen just to replace the battery? But since the display connection is that easy to remove, you just unplug it and don't need to mess around with it. Makes life while changing the battery way easier.
I saw a couple of repair Kits for the Tab A7, yet none of them contained glue for reglueing the display at the end. Is the regluing process necessary or can you reattach the display without glue?
Hello! I have a tablete Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, Octa-Core, 10.5. I bought the tablet for two months. Can you please tell me how long it should take to charge using its charger? I noticed that it charges in 3 and a half hours. I think it takes a long time.
Hi. Followed your how-to exactly, but when I got to testing the screen, there was no power. Nothing. Dead tablet, basically. Can only think I damaged something at some point. Maybe the little bitty plugs for the battery and screen are more fragile than I thought?
@@ericalexander5890 didn't heat it at all. Didn't seem to need it. The screen was already partially coming off because the old battery was bloated, so I just inserted a guitar pick in the gap and slid it around.
hi sir, my screen is not powered up after changing battery, but the tab is powered up, can still hear system sounds. I didn't shut down the tab and didn't not remove battery first before disconnecting the screen ribbon. what's the potential issue and any solution?
I changed the battery but now my screen won't turn on. I put the old battery back and same thing. I am not sure what is happening. I Checked both connections, all good. Any idea?
Same here, any solution? I connected the screen plug before the battery plug. The video says to connect the battery plug first, can this damage the screen?
I was very careful but now the display is not displaying properly. I checked the connections and everything seems ok. i'm hoping i did not screw up the tablet. i was very careful i can not understand what went wrong.
Help please I lost the 2 brackets and the screws. Any idea how to replace them. Can’t find the parts number. I tried to see if it would work without them. But I can even turn it on.
How do I know that this is my problem? My tablet only makes a small sound when I charge it and nothing else. It doesn't turn on or show anything on the screen
This Video is very helpful , Yes ! What I just can't understand is why would the Makers of this Tablet be So Damn Stupid and Naieve to think that this would be a good idea for Someone to have to take the Screen off , to change the Battery ? This must be some kind of Marketing Ploy to get their Screens Sold cause i'm sure there are a lot of Screens being Broken from these Battery Changes even if they are by the Pros in the Workshops !!!!!😮

Glad it helped

Very good. Which battery replacement kits are the most complete & reliable ?
Always Original service packs
Hi: What type of glue did you use? Thanks!
B7000 / t7000 glue
@@DIYGeardo Thanks very much, Geardo!
any idea on roughly how much B7000 you need for the tablet? was looking at two 15ml tubes, but wasn't sure if it's enough.

Please buy the glue separate. Because without that you cannot secure the screen. Original adhesive or Glue (b7000/t7000)

Is there any risk ?
It is the same
Thanks, I just replaced the failed battery of my tablet.

Any precautions need tombe taken against static electricity ?

Is the new battery is working? There are many faulty batteries too in the market..
@@DIYGeardo the old battery was still working before I opened up the tablet. Tried that on it too. Nothing.
Same problem by me now.
How did you heat the tablet to loosen the adhesive? If you used something too hot, like a heat gun, you may have toasted it. Literally.
@@ericalexander5890 didn't heat it at all. Didn't seem to need it. The screen was already partially coming off because the old battery was bloated, so I just inserted a guitar pick in the gap and slid it around.
감사합니다. 접착제 똑같은걸로 사서 해보겠습니다.
Great
How much does this battery cost?
About $20-25
The question is what size screw driver do you need for the screws?
