    Schools should have surveillance cameras outside school grounds and hallways, bullet proof windows and locks on door. Training for situations like these and an alarm or code to warn school population of shooter lockdown. This should be a federal law passed on this because public schools receive federal funding. Thoughts and prayers don't prevent a tragedy. This has been going on for 23 years. So many innocent lives lost and no solutions. We the people don't want thoughts, prayers, or lives lost. We voters want stricter laws and solutions to the end of this madness. Come on voters place pressure on these politicians 2024...we need innocent people, especially our children safe.

      Naw, we seriously need to close public schools. If we insist on taxes for education give it directly to the parents to educate the way they see fit, home, private schools or something unorthodox. We definitely can't turn school into a lock down war zone because what's the point at that point.

    Why would anybody in the human society need semi automatic /automatic / machine guns...please ban these from normal citizens...i have 4th grade kid (10 yrs old) ...this is worst nightmare any patent can get..i cant strop my tears while couple is speaking for their child...God gives enough courage to the families and friends to overcome this nightmare...even though nothing can replace their loved one memories

    • @garymccray7822
      @garymccray7822 2 роки тому

      Fully automatic weapons are extremely difficult, and prohibitively expensive, to get for a common citizen.
      Nearly every handgun made today, including those carried by law enforcement, are semi auto.
      All semi auto means is that the weapon fires as fast as you can physically pull the trigger for each round.
      An AR-15 is not an assault rifle.
      Assault rifles are military grade weapons with multiple modes of fire, single round, burst fire, or fully automatic with a switch to select the desired fire mode.
      An AR-15 is a semi auto rifle, usually chambered in 9mm or 5.56mm that has better range, accuracy and arguably more punch than a pistol, but no where near the destructive power of an actual assault weapon.

    • @sivareddyvaka
      @sivareddyvaka 2 роки тому +1

      Still I dont find any reason close to reality where normal citizen need AR-15 style rifles...we are not living in 19th centuary where everybody need some weapon to keep their family safe.
      Most of American population are living in the close vicinity of police (at max 10 mins reach of police)
      Just Pistol or Small firearm should be enough for most citizens (that doesnt fire like machin guns with hundereds of rounds of bulletts)..
      I am not expert on firearms but I can gurantee that the countries with less access to firearms has less fatality than America (this is very true)
      I only see need for firearms for the people who live in very remote (just to keep them comfort and brave ) other than that with current advanced communications and technology why would anybody need AR-style rifles

    I feel so sorry for that woman who's blaming herself for her daughter's death (because she didn't collect her sooner as she normally would have). It ain't your guilt lady. That belongs with the shooter, the cops who chose to wait instead of acting immediately, and the republicans for repeatedly banning legislation to tighten gun control to make it harder for killers to get guns younger (18), and easier (no background checks) - all in the name of greater profit for the gun lobby. How many more murdered children, teens, adults...Americans.... before voters stop supporting their gun-loving republicans? Perhaps never.....

    • @Jose_Jalapeno
      @Jose_Jalapeno 2 роки тому

      In the 2020 election cycle, 99 percent of gun control money was given to Democrats, and equally 99 percent of gun rights donations were given to Republicans. This is money that effectively shores up the established position for both parties, that of protecting gun rights for the Republican Party, and that of some form of gun control for the Democrats.
      So this is a Right and Left responsibility which they will never own up to.

      I wish US Americans could see how absolutely INSANE this stuff looks from the POV of every other country on Earth. Like...I really felt sick listening to that press conference where they brushed off questions about gun laws entirely and started talking about what schools could/should have done, what parents can do, mental health care (not that it's affordable in the US OR not that university is inexpensive enough for more people to train for those careers but okay) etc. People would literally find a way to pass an elephant through a keyhole before they would bring up the gun problem...

      Actually gun control is not the Answer. Any Low life can still steal or buy one off the streets. What they need to do is give Conceal carry permits. To the Teachers and train them Teachers and children for active shooter drills and lock down. Also they didn't have an armed school cop. They need to add two. And have metal detectors in the door ways. Lock them aswell. And raise the legal firearms purchase to 21 or 25 years and up!

    This is a prime example of law enforcements transition from a culture of public safety to one of police safety. There really needs to be a better effort at implementing a plan to stop these things from happening. How many more school shootings do there need to be? Columbine happened a couple of decades ago! There have been scores of school shootings since then. Without a difference in outcomes. These drills that schools have for active shooters on campuses is a total joke. The fact that there were officers and some of the parents on scene while shots were still being fired and nobody went into stop it tells me that we have run out of heroes on our police forces across the country. Where are you heroes?!!! The police I grew up around and looked up to as brave men are gone. The good cops have left the force , recognizing the shift in policing culture. It's sad, there's no wonder there were calls to defund the police. I don't agree with that but I do understand and agree with the frustration behind those pleas. We need our heroes back! These pussified cops that watch out for us now aren't the cops I really want watching out for me.... I would have risked my life to save just 1 of those kids. There was plenty of officers and parents there to go in and at least give the shooter something else to focus on other than killing those kids! I'm so sick I'm sick and sad at what happened to these kids and the teachers that were killed and injured. I'm also sickened and upset with law enforcements reluctance to enter the building. Even if just 1 officer went in, that would be a distraction for the shooter and could have saved lives. Shane on those officers for not doing their jobs to the best of their ability. Shame Shane Shame!!!! Go in guys!!! That's what your trained to do!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!

      I totally agree with you 1000% , what upset 😭 me the most police 👮‍♀️ officers just standing there & doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING !
      To try to STOP 🛑 the SHOOTER , when they already the shooter’s grandmother had called 911 . And she clearly said “my grandson shot me & he’s heading for the school “
      So knowing it was ONLY ONE ☝️ ACTIVE SHOOTER , why didn’t a couple officers 👮‍♀️ 👮 went in there ???
      Or is they were PUSSYFIED like you said on your comment , or why they DIDN’T ALLOW the PARENTS to go in
      WITH or WHITOUT protective VESTS éter willing to RISK THEIR LIVES in order to save all those 21 LITTLE ANGELS 👼 😇 & their 2- WONDERFUL BELOVED ❤️ teachers ???
      Instead they RISK their lives to protect theirs , and how about the mother that was handcuffed because she desperately wanted to go in . And the same was done to a father & officers 👮‍♀️ 👮‍♂️ were literally on top of him !
      That really upset 😭😡🤬😡me , and if it WASN’T for the BORDER PATROL that heard the commotion & STEPPED in MORE teachers & CHILDREN would have lost their lives !!
      Growing up like you said police 👮‍♀️ officers way back then , we’re HEROES 🦸‍♂️ !
      And growing up we were taught to respect them , but now a days they ABUSED their POWER and frankly some behave like THUGS !!
      How many people have lost 😡 their lives due to that ???
      After Floyd there was another incident , we’re police 👮‍♀️ 👮 officers had a person in a choke hold & on top of him were he couldn’t breathe !!
      And after people that were witnessing, taking video & begging them to please STOP 🛑 they didn’t. !!!
      Gun LAWS HAVE to CHANGE , for instance I have a friend from Spain 🇪🇸 . That has been living in Mexico 🇲🇽 for 18 years & I spoke to her & husband. Regarding UVALDE . And all these MASS SHOOTINGS & she told me in Mexico 🇲🇽 there’s I on ONLY ONE GUN SHOp . And in order for some one to purchase one ☝️, they do a thorough & global investigation . And people have to have all documents in order & yes like she said “ people are going to talk about narco traffic !
      But guess what the power arms they carry , are from United States 🇺🇸 !!!
      And she was upset 😡 because “ in the United States 🇺🇸 all they talk about is the drug trafficking “
      And they scare people NOT to travel there , but like she said in many Countries they have the same PROBLEM !!!
      And she said to me the United States 🇺🇸 is always talking on Social Media & all the internet , newspapers 📰 etc .warning people, scaring them & telling people NIT to TRAVEL !!
      So true I feel the same way they emphasized on that , to DETER ATTENTION to ALL these MASS SHOOTINGS !
      I want to visit Mexico 🇲🇽 & she assured me come visit , you’re NOT in DANGER ⚠️ !!!
      There’s a LOT of Americans moving there & there’s videos of ex pats living there & they feel safe .
      There’s many videos of Americans that have been living there for more than 14- years . And also a lot of people from all over the world 🌍🌏🌎, specifically young people from South Korea 🇰🇷, Japan 🇯🇵, Russia 🇷🇺 , Afghanistan 🇦🇫, Australia 🇦🇺, Great Britain 🇬🇧,France 🇫🇷, Pakistán 🇵🇰, Romania 🇷🇴 & recently a lot of people from Ukraine 🇺🇦 !
      🙏🏿🤗👍 ☮️🌍🌎🌏

      Because an airplane is a pressurized environment at 36,000 feet.
      The internal air pressure in the cabin is much higher than the atmosphere outside where the air is thin.
      A bullet that misses its target could hit a window or puncture the wall of the plane.

    I live in one of the top 5 poorest communities in America I have never heard about a mass Shooting in schools in these communities. This mainly happen in states with unrestricted gun laws. I'm used to metal detectors in schools 2 times a month and usually we have 1 or 2 resource officers. this has been an everyday thing for us for many decades most republican districts don't do that. And this is why most of those districts have mass school shootings. All doors are locked coming in beside one entry. But they are all unlocked for kids and staff to get out when needed. this isn't nothing new. It's just been neglected in most red states and districts . Body armor is a real thing folks and many cases guns aren't going to protect everyone so laws are needed.

    Though being pro 2nd ammendment, I definitely think that the legal age to purchase guns should be raised from 18 to 21. There is a lot of difference, especially, in males, from the age of 18 to the age of 21~~ They have a lot more time to better mature during those 3 years, as I think most people of both genders would agree!

      It does solve the problem big time. Solves my communities problem for many decades we catch weapons keep out people who want to assault others. Laws are needed. We have 2 resource officers and get metal detectors 2 time randomly a month. I never heard of a school mass shootings in districts with restricted gun laws always happens in most unrestricted red districts. I've lived in foster care to have both experiences and know the difference between many dense low income districts, hid mid to wealthy suburbs, and less populated rural areas. Went to 9 different HS each school in these areas are very different. 🙄 In most dense schools the one point of entry is next to office with resourcer officer. Suburbs you can walk in but no resource officer easily blend in 1 or 2 doors unlocked. And in small rural populations you have open range to walk in usually office is down hall or behind a wall coming in no resource officer at all let alone ethics. Most doors are lefted unlocked around school. Leave some unrestricted gun laws and it makes world of destruction waiting at the door step. We need laws and better safety

One entry with resource officer to sign ppl in is sufficient for everyone in the schools safety. Everyone can still exit EVERY DOOR**** for emergencies. Doors can be unlocked on outside when needed by administration, local city emergency officials, or custodian staff. The doors are always unlocked on the inside. Why is logic so hard for people? This been this way in many urban dense city schools with restricted gun laws for decades. You don't hear about mass school shootings in those cities and areas.
