I met Willie Aames while I was working on the cruise ship where he was working as a cruise director. He has such a wonderful personality, he is so kind to everybody, including crew. He never missed the chance to say nice words for ship's crew. Not many people were so nice as him! I was very surprise when I heard his story, because I didn't know he was famous before. I wish him all the luck and happiness in his life and new marriage.

These tragic stories seem so surreal, but they are true. I was homeless for a while. I am an ivy leaguer who had a substantial career. I was drinking alcoholically after loosing a parent and it progressed. I lost EVERYTHING important to me. I moved in with my remaining parent, a dead beat dad, who hadn't really invested much in me as a child. I move in with him and his family, and after some turmoil, am told to find other accomodations. I had NO ONE. He abandoned me again in life. This was many , many years ago. I found my way to a rehab after a lot of battles, assault even, and I live to be grateful now for EVERYTHING! Apart from the Substance use and medical bills, the reason that rich people lose it all is that they do not know how to manage money, and spend themselves into oblivion, not only what they purchase but also on the upkeep. Those fancy "cribs" may look nice but the taxes kill you.
I was drug addicted and homeless. I met Jesus, decided to live the way the Bible tells us to and now 4 years later, I'm still clean and have a beautiful family and home. Glory to God and His awesome power and words!
When you’re famous, you have to attend many parties where there are many toxic people telling you to have some fun and this pill or alcohol makes you feel soo good.. starting the downward spiral. You must have the nerve to be the spoilsport or killjoy to maintain your health. In the movie ‘28 days’ with Sandra Bullock where she played a person in rehab, the always was a person trying to give her drinks.

Cary O is right, with the thought that drug abuse seems to be a common result of "money & no common sense".
*we all take drugs, we smoke it, we drink it and we buy it over a counter* and too much of any of it is harmful to us, I'm not saying drug abuse isn't a factor. I am saying it is not necessarily the cause, but more of a symptom to something else. there are many famous people who take both legal and illicit drugs, but it doesn't mean it counts for those who fall on hard times, or commit suicide. an example is Robin Williams, he took legal drugs, drinks but had a premature death. the underlying issue was deep bouts of depression. many musician are notorious for a lifestyle of drugs and alcohol (which is a drug as well), and most are able to get through fine and it is not what causes many of the problems , but those who passed away prematurely often have drugs as a factor, but it's actually never the underlying issue. a common factor or correlation is not necessarily the causation and to say it is, escapes the investigation of the root cause.
To all my strangers brothers sisters from different countries whom I will never meet may this life gives u healthy life and peace this is the least I can do love you all ❤❤

In the ‘90s my son took me to see Bret Butler doing stand-up comedy. She was hilarious! The first thing she noticed was a child in the front row, and announced she would keep her routine clean. I really respected her for that.

My thoughts exactly. In the USA even if one is down and out, if one has any kind of pre-existing fame, one can leverage that to revitalize their career in some kind of capacity. This of course does not apply to non-famous-those deemed as 'nobodies'.
good for Brett Butler, getting her life together...(I'd forgotten all about Grace under Fire...) Also, good for Willie Aames, Rocky Lockridge & Margot Kidder.

Natasha Lyonne was super beautiful, glad she's doing well again.
Robert Tenayuca
Uuuuuuughhhly!!!!
She IS now, too.
Who?
To all my strangers brothers sisters from different countries whom I will never meet may this life gives u healthy life and peace this is the least I can do love you all ❤❤
love you too
Besides money mismanagement, DRUGS is the enemy! I'm glad they were able to turn their life around 😌
That should be the title of this post!
These are perfect examples of what money and fame can do to you. Most time they destroy you and cause you to lose family and friends.
I was homeless but never rich. Wish i was rich but never homeless . Haha . Beeing homeless is very hard . Specially in wintertime autumn and spring when it is cold or rain.
rip margot kidder
When you piss it away with no tomorrow in mind what would one expect.
Ever think...... “I would have taken most of them in”?
Same here
it cost nothing to be kind!
Nope
be patient..and praying to the god..Dont lose hope to the God
I'm also poor but I am happy..
here I am and here we are....
And never give up to be succesful people in the world and afterlife.
God bless you, my tiny wish for you it's that you sleep under a warm blanket, knowing someone like me that you do not know love you....how much more does God? Have a great day tomorrow, I hope you see a butterfly.
Thanks. Now that's what I call encouragement.
which god should i pray to? there are too many to choose from.
Praying does nothing and including God EVERYWHERE is getting so annoying. You pray, ok but what happens next? Nothing. It's luck or your will ,that will get you somewhere. No hate but c'mon
Awesome!
Damn, how a woman gonna leave a man who went broke taking care of her ass
Calvin Howard she will get hers
Men literally do that every single day.
Stuck up women do it all the time
In the ‘90s my son took me to see Bret Butler doing stand-up comedy. She was hilarious! The first thing she noticed was a child in the front row, and announced she would keep her routine clean. I really respected her for that.
I've always said it, 'life will either make you or break you'
What a way say it well said
I was homeless, on drugs and dieing. My Faith and kids turned me around. I have a home, my kids a car , etc ...I'm so blessed and I'm blessed to be able to be a good mother!
Money is the root of all evil but regardless of fame we all struggle in life with problems.
Jeffrey Vasby where does it say money is the root of all evil? The bible says it's the _love of money_ thats the root of all evil.
It ain't the Bible says the LOVE of money! Money is just papers or a made up concept....human hearts are the issue
Or lack thereof.
*Love* of money is the root of all evil.
The love of money not " money".
This proves that fame and fortune, DEFINITELY, isn't everything.
Right sometimes it just makes things worse!!!
proves that white males aren't inherently privileged..in fact its normally MALEs who end up homeless.
studmalexy exactly
it proves drugs are everything
No i wouldn't say that..... its more about mismanagement of money
Lesson learned: save money in your good days.
and stay alert for scammers!!! someone said,"be wary of uneducated and over friendly people". Uneducated doesn't necessarily mean "not attended school or college", but those who were not raised properly in a disciplined and civilized way!
Jake Paul will be next...
Charlie M hopefully
Charlie M I pray for that miracle
Charlie M shutup maybe your fammilly we be homeless
Krafty Kittenz I agree
Why?
DAMM FOKING DRUGS is not whuorth it.
People do not realize how much luck is involved with success until your down on it
I love how celebs are just able to just "turn it around" with the snap of a finger.
My thoughts exactly. In the USA even if one is down and out, if one has any kind of pre-existing fame, one can leverage that to revitalize their career in some kind of capacity. This of course does not apply to non-famous-those deemed as 'nobodies'.
Hahaha... The boxer should have moved out of Camden N.J. and I guarantee his life would've changed instantly
Don't do drugs!
Holy shit!! This is awesome!!
So many drug addictions
Meth.😮!
DRUGS DESTROY LIVES!!!
Gloria Hanes unfortunately it’s addictive!
Tell me about it 😪
Sometimes, when Hollywood actors achieve fame and fortune, they don't learn money, and finance!
good for Brett Butler, getting her life together...(I'd forgotten all about Grace under Fire...) Also, good for Willie Aames, Rocky Lockridge & Margot Kidder.
American Pie seems cursed to me. Most of them are MIA now.
Stephen 1982 The one guy from American pie was on Orange is the new black
always put god in the center of your life to guide you in the right direction.

PapaGitch she was never homeless sad ending to her life.
I came out because of one of Natasha Leon’s movies, she’s always got a place to stay with me!
I'm shocked about Brett Butler. Hope things are better for her now.
I last saw her in The Walking Dead
So Ames basically paid the hospital bills for her wife's disease treatment and went he went broke because of it, she left him.
