    I don't understand why people would want to be homeless. Here I am having an apartment and broke trying to make enough money each month just to keep my small apartment so I don't become homeless.

      LISTaddiction I highly doubt it's attention. Not sure why you'd think that anyway. I know I've never heard of any of these people before this video.
      I don't know why it's so hard for some to understand. Some people could careless about the amount of money they have or the luxuries their money bring them. They only need the necessities, food, water, & for some an actual roof over there head (shelter, hotel, motel). Those who gained the money from their successful careers actually enjoy doing their job & not for the amount of money they receive from doing it.
      Personally I think it's pretty fuckin' admirable. Especially those who chose to donate. Shows that money isn't everything.

    We are all homeless! Most of us think we are so secure in "our" homes, but it wouldn't take much to have it all ripped away from us. Then where would we park our asses? On the street? Yup.

    • @joebloggs619
      @joebloggs619 5 років тому

      Not beyond the realm of possibility but few think of this. It happened to me, so I constantly think about it, though I now do have a secure roof again. After going from rich to poor. Nowadays, though I could live more comfortably, I still practice the strict disciplines of smart poor honest folk. Live very frugally. Learn to enjoy discomforts, like being cold in winter, hot in extreme summer heat, learn how to ignore those who put you down for not enjoying their own higher standard of living. Why do such a seemingly insane thing? Because it develops the necessary resilience and coping skills to get you through a period of economic adversity eg a national economic down turn, where even the very rich could end up losing all, especially if they invested on the stock market or crypto Currencies or the real estate market with high debt leverage etc. Once you learn to live a simple luxury free lifestyle, it becomes very liberating and you simply do not need or miss what you have not. And you wonder how you could have ever become so addicted to much unnecessary luxury eg dining out, buying coffees in cafes, fashion, driving a car instead of walking or riding public transport, cosmetics, gyms etc. And, on rare occasions when you d o indulge in some minor luxury to you, that is just normal living needs to others eg but a coffee in a McDonald's, even, it feels like a great experience. Why? Because you fo not indulge frequently in what you d o not need to stay alive as and well.

    I never realized how many people don't know what exactly the term 'homeless' means. For those who don't here's a definition provided by public health services.
    A homeless individual is defined in section 330(h)(5)(A) as “an individual who lacks housing (without regard to whether the individual is a member of a family), including an individual whose primary residence during the night is a supervised public or private facility (e.g., shelters) that provides temporary living accommodations, and an individual who is a resident in transitional housing.” A homeless person is an individual without permanent housing who may live on the streets; stay in a shelter, mission, single room occupancy facilities, abandoned building or vehicle; or in any other unstable or non-permanent situation. [Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C., 254b)]

According to the newpapers from the town he lived in here in Sweden Curt had a will that said all his real estate, gold and stock would be given to his only friend that was also his cousin. Also I can't find anywhere that he was homeless, he had two houses in the town he lived in and was found dead in his bed.

    In Sweden, the housing crisis is making full time employees who earn about 50.000 dollars a year homeless due to ridiculusly high house/apartment prices and 15+ year queue for rental apartments.... The blame lies with our politicians who bring in tens of thousands of people from Africa/Middle-east.

      No. Pressing the 'read more' button doesn't make you a savage, and if you don't know what a savage is than you are not a savage.....

    I think the reason some humans prefer to be homeless because they feel their instinctual urge to survive on the stree, as bonds are created much more better in survival then it is in luxary. Its more so of wild personality, which proves that we are still wild.

    Some people on this list were actually homeless though so they technically shouldn't be included in the list...

    So I'm confused why people with money would live homeless by choice. Taxpayer money to support facilities, and people volunteering time and resources to make life better for those on the street, all the while they had the means to not be homeless doesn't make sense.

    Asking for money on the street, let you more money than working. If in one day pass in front of you 500 people, you can earn $500.00 in only 1 day, & the week have 7 days, imagine.

      Greco But imagine all the negative, evil stares and remarks. There's 100 "no's" for every "yes". It's not easy being homeless. People treat you worse than they treat their own cats and dogs. You are always the center of negative attention. You're never where you're supposed to be.
