- I went to GenCon this year! I was able to play the super secret First Hero Demo! This is a really fun demo, and really difficult. I even got to play with KDM community members!
PhDAdd: Lantern's Reign Mod and great painter!
phd_add?ig...
Mumford: Dave Hanlon (mumford), mini painter. Has more pencils than Opal!!

Thanks to Pizzagram for playing as well!

You are a legend Bra! 💪 For sharing this demo and upcoming interview from Gencon so fast! It makes the wait for the arrival of the GCE here in The Netherlands more bearable.
That is very generous of you, thank you. I am glad I was able to record this and Team Death was very kind to run it for me!
2 speed on a zanbato, and he can still dodge. God really does have favorites.
That was phenomenal :) much to look forward to and it seems like so many cool ideas.
I really enjoyed this fight, even if I was useless.
Thanks for posting this! Really good video.
I am glad you enjoyed it!
The First Hero figures (both male and female versions) have so much swagger
Indeed they do!
What a great fight, thx for the videos Bra! 🎉
My pleasure! It was fun!
Very cool man, ty much!
I am glad you enjoyed it!
What a cool idea to get innovations through the hit location deck. I wonder if the lantern oven innovation is only acquired on a failure?
I had the same question... It doesn't seem right to me.
I am sure there will be some aspect of guaranteed rewards for some innovations.
14:28 The mad lad did it! Thanks, Bra! :D
No problem!
KDM GenCon content (and received GC)... Its going to be a good week :-)
Indeed, but alas, my poor capture card.
"The first hero is so powerful he can hunt on his own"
Bruh... I want him on my team not kill him lol
Yeah lol, that would something lol
That dagger missplay hurts. Could have been gg.
Yeah. I also played poorly trying to see if there was some surprise by the Team Death member.
Oh thanks for all the people that can not be there.
I am glad I was able to record this for everyone!
Great video. Awesome seeing you four play. Loved 🍕 s description, "Discord blah, blah, IG. Discord, blah, blah, IG. This guy just bought everything "
Was rooting for the win and now I have to buy the preorder for it.
Did you happen to film an unboxing of Sixth's surprise (I think you took one up)?
I did not see Sixth's surprise. I know there was lots of talk about it. I asked Poots about it as well. He just said the fanbase is very generous and out of their minds.
@BraMithra From the videos, demo, epic shopping, and amazing Gold Medals for painting, you four won GenCon. Next year will be hard to top
Does the lantern year 12 or 20 continue after this, if you lose? Or do you have to keep re-playing it until you win?
You would start at those lantern years, that is correct. I assume this is like a prologue. So you could just keep trying.
Any idea when this expansion will be released?
No idea. Hopefully sooner rather then at the end of Wave 4.
Release? We don't do that here
This didn't seem that hard IMO... But I may be mistaken. I don't like the element of failing to get stuff... Perhaps this triggers regardless of failure?
Failing to get stuff is kind of necessary. This battle is really just a thematic random number generator that determines what you start with in a later settlement. It has to be different every time, otherwise the battle would be unnecessary and it would just be a list of innovations, equipment, and resources to start a year 12 settlement. I'm sure there are such homebrew lists to start a late settlement, but the First Hero expansion is just a fun way to achieve the same result.
@@JWar- If it's "just" a random numbers generator then it's not truly a game but a self narrated battle. There should be some degree of control in it, though again this was just a demo, I am unable to tell if the actions, or options provided by gear make any difference. Examples... Are there any reveal items that allow you to check hit locations and if you want to repeat them, fail them or not? Or reveal Ai cards to set yourself up. Is there any advantage in having a short battle rather than just letting yourself be hit and fail as much as possible? Though armory seems cool...it also seems this showdown encourages a long battle rather than finishing fast, which I frankly don't like. How does this relate to obtaining gear in the after math... the fact you start with almost all survival actions lead me to think you at least have some degree of agency.
I can't tell if you were one of the players, probably? If not I still have some hope it is not just a narrated battle.
I think there will be some elements of guaranteed stuff. I talk about that more at the end of the unboxing live stream.
@@BraMithra I have seen way too many unboxing videos by now. Still I'm excited for this expansion, just "tempering my expectations"
