Genshin's writing is so fucking good when it enters real-life territory. I am still absolutely amazed and impressed by how they handled subjects like child abuse, trauma, loss and isolation in this quest. Xilonen was written excellently. She was careful and sensible in her approach. She didn't jump to conclusions but she also didn't look away, even though it was her Auntie. So many people didn't listen, looked away or simply didn't understand what they were seeing. But Xilonen paid attention and she acted on her concerns. And she did it in the safest way possible for the kid. If she had confronted Auntie directly, it would've backfired so badly. Instead, she tried to be as subtle as possible and get the kid out of isolation. And doing all this in public gave the "mother" less control over the kid, who had more chances to speak up. And she gave the kid a voice. And I absolutely loved how she comforted Nepecha. The way she paused before she answered. She really thought about the right words and she found them. They were comforting, genuine and still realistic. She treated the kid with so much dignity and respect. Xilonen could've been so easily a cool disco Barbie and that's it. And it would've been fine :D but this is just so much better
After the quest try to fast forward a few days, and u can see Nepecha outside Xilonen's home😁and u can also interact with her for some additional info if curious
So, she ORIGINALLY took Nepecha in to help an orphaned child and attempt to help herself. The problem was a PTSD induced psychotic break following her grief of losing her child. There will never be excusing or forgiving what she's done to Nepecha, but what she needs, aside from never having custody of another kid, is jail time with mandated therapy.
therapy will not work. she know her child dead, what she need is her child. force her accept the dead of her child is impossible. this is not problem about mental, she choose to not accept the dead of her child. none therapy can change that
She didn't just hurt Nepecha but also the other people from the tribe as well. Imagine if her plan didn't succeed, not only she steals Nepecha's life but also destroy her in the process. She killed an innocent life while also losing the chance to see Nechca forever.
This quest felt a little too real at some points. The kid trying to talk to us then the abusive guardian stopping her and being controlling. Actual shivers down my spine.
I was really surprised to hear Bran say that he feels like Story Quests have been going dowhill recently outside of this one. I have the opposite opinion and have enjoyed nearly every story quest since Fontaine came out.
Yeah ive been liking all the story quests ever since 4.0. Even for characters I thought I wouldn't care about like Sigewinne or Lyney. Pre-4.0 I only really liked Yoimiya act 2 and Baizhu's quest
Like chat said, she didnt adopt her for her evil plan she really just adopted her and raised her normally, Nepecha even called her Mom at one point the problem was that being calledd Mom triggered tf out of her making her second guess her relationship with Nepecha and send her spiraling into depression culminating in her creating the plan and abusing and controlling Nepecha from that point on Also, i think Inazuma and Ruri where just as dark as this one, the little kid was literally ritually sacrificed by removing his organs and filling a cup with his blood, shit was dark already
he experiences all that in a loop for thousands of times. Nepecha's situation is much lighter because she lived and has a happy "ending". Ruu has been dead for hundreds of years
@@mm0tch13in a certain sense the kid in enkanomiya had it even worst because their soul got trapped and eternally tortured in a prison for the soul for probably even more time than Ruu
The story is just tragic dude.. The ending is basically good on the surface, but then you realize Nepecha still lost two of her parents, and the "mom" who's supposed to be sweet and kind lost her daughter and now just heartbroken, being seen as a criminal.
Even if mental health services aren't like what we have in the real world, Nepecha has the care of her sister and the support of the tribe. She's no longer isolated from others or prevented from experimenting and exploring her interests. The situation is indeed tragic but now she's free and can grow outside of a cage
It wouldn't surprise me if the "mom" was banished from the tribe, evicted from the region, and her emotions/memories were damaged after she loses the blessing of the Wayob.
Nepecha doesn't seem to feel anything towards Tzalolli after we rescued her so I think she'll be fine with someone she actually trusts (Xilonen) since she didn't develop any attachment to her abuser. I believe this is why Nehca used the Ancient Name in the first place, to release Nepecha from her 'kinship'.
@@kellyjohana516 Xilonen's flashlight thing at the scene made it so Tzaolli can hear Nechca's true feelings for e brief moment. Despite doing wrong, Xilonen ensured Tzaolli was taken care of properly before she was confronted and likely punished for her mistakes.
Pretty sure she does that in every language besides English. It's sadly not a common occurrence for the EN version to be noticeably worse than the other languages. Not because of the voice actors being inherently worse in EN, of course, but more so that it feels that they aren't given enough direction & context to what is going on in a particular scene a lot of the time. Then again there's also moments like with Chlotar Alberich which straight up sound better in English than all the other version combined.
@@patheticbadger3478 the crazy mom showed almost no emotions in her voice the whole quest, I wonder if the strike had something to do with it, I hope that's not the case, since I don't think they'll redo these stuff after the strike...
i was very surprised watching this video since i also play with JP dub, the emotional impact on the EN dub is way weaker. kinda sad since i really like this quest.
JP Tiazolli also went super emo on second half when she had mental breakdown while confessing her plan to Xilonen (fitting how NPC model acting+creepy camera angle) the EN Tiazolli's voice remain too calm even during that scene instead turn me off... its creepy yes, but in a bad way of presentation imo. no offense to EN VA but I'm still glad I played on JP
Ever since from Sumeru with the whole lore bomb, especially Dottore then the back stories in Fontaine like Lynette and also Wriothesley quest, i felt Genshin has long stopped holding back
Even earlier if you consider the more obscure things, like Ruu and his story all going back to 1.0 due to the thundering fury artifact set telling the story
@@atriyakoller136 Finally someone mentioned Ruu here...when he was like genshin used to show the darkness on a surface level, I was thinking "but Ruu continuously dying for years was outright mentioned-" but what he said was understandable. A lot of ppl don't bother much with the world quests and that's why you can basically just say genshin was showing the dark side o a surface level in AQ, like compared to how they directly showed it in Natlan a lot including the AQ, it was often hidden or mentioned in descriptions of things or world quests.
@@Meh-yb9swI personally enjoyed the dark side being hidden before, but honestly still am enjoying the darker quests, even though back then genshin was my getaway from the dark stuff happening in the world.
Guys... it all started with Timmy. Or even earlier, with Collei in the manga. The difference is that it started very deep, without much attention. Manga, small commission, just a few sentences with dubious meaning, world quests, books. Then we got sumeru, and we have more cases in more relevant moments, some papers in archon quests, some stuff happening with npcs on background. Fontaine, basically half of each world quest has a child with some trauma, death, being orphan, molested, killing their parents... And now, in Natlan, a whole story quest with this as focus. Still an npc, tho. Snezhnaya may bring a bronya look alike, and if you know her story, be ready for this happening to a playable char.
1:43:00 my take away from how it lead to the batshitness of this lady is that she needed therapy more than anything to process her grief, not adopt and orphan to lessen the pain of her daughter dying. Basically she adopted Nepecha to lessen the pain of Nechca dying, as Nepecha slowly warmed up to her and started calling her mom, Tlazolli started having delusional thoughts that Nepecha is Nechca, which lead to her slowly descent into this psychotic insanity with her justifying that it's for Nechca. Tldr: Nepecha is a victim of a grieving mother who didn't get the help she needed which lead to her almost being sacrificed to bring back Tlazolli's dead daughter. I feel bad for Tlazolli but her actions are inexcusable. So she needs jail time and therapy from a therapist if they even exist in Teyvat.
I think for me personally out of all the Natlan story quests, Kinich’s is my favorite followed by Xilonen’s and then Mualani’s because I loved all the funny interactions with Ajaw and Enjou lol but this quest made me love Xilonen more than I already did!
Ikr! I really like kinich quest because it really feels like tribal quest not just glorified story quest because this feels just like xilonen story quest even with the short act 1 and 2 feels just like a prelude for act 3
This quest was awesome and made me love Xilonen even more! On a surface level she seems quite detached and on her own, sometimes lazy and careless even if she's a hardworking smith, but they wrote her wonderfully here and showed a gentle, sensitive, listening and very intelligent side of her that I appreciated a lot 💖 She became one of my favourite characters thanks to this quest!
Xilonen is the kind of character that Arlecchino _says_ she is but refuses to be; where Arlecchino would use threats, intimidation, and violence to get her hands on Nepecha regardless of if she was correct in her assumptions, Xilonen used empathy, kindness, and trust to separate her from Tlazolli, gave Nepecha the chance to finally speak for herself, and only took action when she knew for certain that Nepecha was being abused. Xilonen gave Nepecha her life back because she refused to let her sentiment and familiarity with Tlazolli stop her, but she also didn't charge in blindly and make things worse, and I'll always love her for that.
@@Jackson-ub1uv Xilonen focused on showing the kid empathy and kindness, Arlecchino would rather find the person who hurt the kid and deliver judgment.
Honestly doing the first 2 parts I already had my suspicions, but I'd be lying that I was expecting not just kidnapping but attempted human sacrifice in this quest. Natlan is basically the training wheels on the bike are off, and you're going downhill on an extreme mountain course.
1:53:02 ok for the wonder my guy it’s a completely different story like bran said as one was done as chance to right their wrongs but found out after that life not that easy and that’s not how it works and must continue knowing their deeds. This is a hurt mother who went off the deep end to sacrifice her adoptive daughter who came to lover her as her new mom and damage her mind and everyone else as she said “she would do anything and pay any price to get her old daughter back”
I want to ramble here for a moment because I'm not able to finish this quest for some time BUT HOLY FLIP DID THIS QUEST FELT LIKE A HORROR MOVIE Especially the messed up room with the walls packed with the stones(Which makes me think that these stones also can create the illusions, hence why the layout was identical to the old house(But maybe im wrong and it meant just the layout and not everything, like the furniture-)) Tiazolli also reminded me of Mother Gothel This was really messed up,I reaaly hope that everything will be alright with the kid
Genshin is full of dead children, almost every region has one : - father who lost his daughter (Mondstadt : cemetery behind church) - Chang the ninth quest, village near wuwang hill Liyue - the kid from Tsurumi island quest - Caribert? - that damned Thelxie event in Fontaine - Feel free to add one
1:50:13 - We start to see "dark" plot line clearly in Sumeru actually with all the imprisoning Nahida stuff, eleazar, nahida and alhaitham's story quests about dream stealing and hive mind, etc etc. In fontaine, they straight up went into Murder and drugs..i mean this was the nation of theatre and justice. So some murder mystery was inevitable. It was as if they were testing the waters in fontaine(both literally and figuratively lol) to see how much of darkness can their audience enjoys. What the reviews would be. And since Fontaine's questline had a good enough success(i prefer Sumeru's better but again thats based on opinions and Fontaine's rank in the top 3 for me anyway), they are now loosening up more and more with the dark stuff. Its almost as if the dark abyss within the story is swelling up threatening to break into the surface full swing. just like how as we progress, we face more and more of "abyss" (not abyss order..but the abyss itself).
Reminder that Inazuma has Tsurumi Island where child sacrifice was part of the main quest and backstory and Enkanomiya where even more children got murdered.
@@vetreas366 Child sacrifice was not part of the main quest if by main quest you mean archon quest. Yes, Ruu's quest is heartbreaking, but a lot of people just don't do world quests.
I love the new way Hoyo's introducing Character Quests with two world quests setting up the background story independently. Longer story means more twist and turns.
It's good but I've already forgotten a ton of details from the first 2 parts, so, ideally, all the parts should be in the same patch, like with Kinich and Mualani. I especially loved Kinich's quest
@@atriyakoller136 End of Act 2 of the Xilonen Quest was a red flag for Tzaolli already... I just didn't realize it. It's easier to NOT suspect a woman, especially a grieving mom, as the villain of the story.
37:06 ngl that line reminded me dottore: do you think "you've seen through my plans" when i heard it and long behold she is actually dottore 2.0 both of them "adopt" children...
I did this quest last night and loved it! There were many plot twists I didn't except. I think this shows off Xilonen's character very well and gives her a lot of doubt. Although I didn't understand one thing,if anyone knows the answer I'd love to know. We know some npcs got their memories taken so they didn't question how Nechca was alive but what about Xilonen? I don't think she had one of those stones to carve wishes on. I mean she did get one later but it wasn't with her the whole time, plus Tlazolli said she didn't do anything to it, maybe it was a lie tho
She forged a lot of these, I don't think every one of them was given out openly, she could have secretly put them to the needed people if they never wanted it for themselves
@Alya_Lee could be but wouldn't that be too suspicious? You receive this rock you never asked for,it's a bit weird. But I guess it can be seen as a gift and I don't think anyone else tried what Tlazolli tried
this story , at the first , it was really peaceful like mother want to cure her child, but at later, it was really caught me off guard that her mother was so twisted in her mind and became the sinner. This content of Xilonene' story is so good craftting, good work devs 👏
Happy-go-lucky Natlan. Good old fashioned happy-go-lucky Natlan where nothing can go wrong and everybody is having fun...I'm not sure how much more suffering and misery we can take.
Hey Bran! Trying to see if you hear it, but rather than British or suppressed Australian, Tlazolli’s accent reminds me more of Niki Yang’s accent. She voices BMO from Adventure Time and Candy Chiu from Gravity Falls and is from South Korea. I’d also wager a guess that if there was a change in VAs from the earlier reputation quest with Tlazolli to this one, that the difference might be strike related.
Genshin has ALWAYS been pretty dark, but now it’s just not buried under layers of lore. Like there’s a literal guy who tried to cure a friend, accidentally dissolving him into an almost immortal blob of flesh constantly screaming in agony so much that the friend had to cut out its vocal chords to stop the screaming, only to have them grow back. Never saw many ppl talking about that 😭
I think Xilonen quest is great as a story quest but as an tribal quest I still think kinich is the best because ngl xilonen quest feels like just another story quest to me it doesnt feel like childern of echoes tribal quest. I just like how scions of the canopy tribal quest and kinich act 3 tells from the beginning how the tribe interact with kinich and how kinich live in the tribe plus some great lore and amazing guest star enjou aka sanka and a lot of important npc like wayna etc thats how you do tribal story quest its about the tribe and the important ancient name bearer in this case kinich, the act 1 and 2 feels natural and not just glorified prelude of the act 3 and the va change in act 3 for tlazolli va in en didnt help too. But what I like in this quest is the storytelling feels so real and Xilonen as a character the way she act and behave is done in a good way but aside from xilonen job as an ancient name engraver we really dont learn much about her we only got little we have interactions with the tribe and xilonen, like I really wish kachina was in this quest even if its just cameo with 1 or 2 lines and couple of important npc too like pacal etc and I wish this more about the childern of echoes too like telling the past ancient name bearer xilonen has and xilonen live as a dj also her deal with how she didnt have any talent of raising plants,I dont feel the vibe of childern of echoes with how they act as work hard party harder kinda mindset like atlest for people of the springs we got those in the archon quest act 1 and about how the people acts as a guide in mualani quest. So overall as an act 3 only this is 7.8/10 for me but as an tribal quest this kinda worst than mualani so like 7/10 maybe thats why the act 1 and 2 shorter that other tribal quest we got.
The only gripe i have about this quest is tlazoli's voice direction tbh. Its too level, composed. Towards the end where shes more manic and desperate, theres a disjoint between her visually and audibly
I think its the side effect of the strike they have to change the va in a short time they change the VA from act 2 to an unexperienced VA or just didnt give any directions to her at all because in other language it didnt have this problem EN voice for genshin in 5.1 overall is pretty bad its understandable because of the strike but from what I heard in sumeru event later this patch in EN dub the only voiced character is paimon and other 2 character besides the npc's
it feels normal at first but somewhere before the reveal/obvious hints you start to feel that something is off. at least it was like that for me edit: i wrote this too early. bran and i were kinda on the same wavelength
Xilonen's Va was really knocking it outta the park. I love her ad-libs, adds alot of personality. She jumped super high on my favs list, which is funny considering the natlan reveal she was the least interesting to me. (Tho the same happened with Hu Tao XD)
Will he have a Story Quest though? I thought Citlali will be the one with the Story Quest. Like for CoE tribal quests despite Kachina being the first character released with the tribe, Xilonen was the one to get a Story Quest a version later
I doubt that. Pretty sure Nightwind tribe quest is still meant for Citlali as she is pretty much the main face right there, and not Ororon. Unless I'm wrong and Hoyo decide to break the matrix.
I think it will be citlali, because in the ancient name thingy we received ororon story icon was already there, and there’s a space for Citlali, ororon “story” was in the archon quest
Maybe it could be Ororon, or maybe it will be Citlali for their tribe quest. But a correction...I think the last story quest we got was Xingqiu's (and yes, that wasn't a hangout event) or maybe Razor's (idk whose came out last, my guess is Xingqiu's but I'm not sure).
The fact of deleting/changing memories or even implanting them to someone hit hard, and it could link to a theory I personally have regarding the Traveler (for me Lumine) and the sibling (for me Aether). According to Nahida, the Traveler has no records of them in Irminsul but their Sibling does; since the Sibling was in Khaenri'ah in the past and maybe is from Khaenri'ah, that would mean the Traveler could also be from Khaenri'ah, but they don't remember it. And it could mean that someone played with Irminsul to delete all the Traveler's records before they "discover" Teyvat. Of course it reminds me of Wanderer SQ, and now Xilonen SQ makes me think more about the Traveler's place in all of Teyvat. And OF COURSE even after four years we don't have all of the pieces of the puzzle. This said, this plus the real sky's reveal in 5.1, we are really getting closer to the big lore bombs and I'm ready. Melusines are beautiful creatures.
The first vid i watched on ur youtube is Ei quest and since that day every quest in genshin i always check on your youtube. Always love ur reaction and video. I hope u always happy and healty doing things u enjoy😊❤
Or they played the quest themselves? But yeah I think it was just bad VA direction again, it sounds like she wasn’t told how to inflect for that segment.
I absolutely loved this story quest. It was very dark but very good. The child you lost never leaves you. Oh just one note - Genshin is a company so it's "Genshin has" not "have" (in the title) :) It's meant nicely.
I came here after finishing the story quest in JP dub and I find Tlazolli's EN dub to be really...flat. I guess the VA didn't get sufficient directions. This is a great story quest. So far I enjoyed all the tribal quests (kinich's being my most favorite because, you know. Enjou.) But I like all of them. Edit: Neuvilette just cannot shut up about his melusine children huh lmao
Bruh, I don't know why. But Xilonen's line about Tequil the Brave felt incredibly foreshadowing to the choice that the traveler must make in the future. To choose either to kill or save their sibling.
I feel so bad for both the mother and Nepecha sure what the mom did was really wrong but she did lose a child and I can understand the pain she must of went through. All she needed was therapy and non of this would have happened. And poor Nepecha was living the life of someone else it must have been terrible. This feels like one of those dark kidnapping crazy mom stories-
therapy will not work. she know her child dead, what she need is her child. force her accept the dead of her child is impossible. this is not problem about mental, she choose to not accept the dead of her child. none therapy can change that
Interesting the closer we get to Snezhnaya the darker the story gets. I wonder what dark story we gonna see in the lands of the fatui "not a bad guy we have the same goals or they are good people just different methods"
Since Fontaine im so happy and disturbed as to how dark Genshin has been getting Watching a whole war play out where our actions decide who dies and who lives, then this whole quest im scared and exited of what will happen in the future
Technically with Ruu's story Inazuma was getting darker, and considering the fact that the story itself was also described in an artifact set back from 2.0 (Thundering Fury and the other one from the same domain, if I'm not mistaken)... it's just been more hidden
With the stories in natlan it’s just things that could really happen in real life like war a mother who lost her childe thats all things that happend in real life to with the other archon quest like Fontain it was also really deep but it would be impossible for it to happen in real life but with the stories that happen in natlan a big part of it comes from real stuff that happend so i think thats why the stories in natlan are just way more deeper then the Rest
I think what sets Natlan apart is it steps into real world problems. Aside from Inazuma which really fucked up its attempt at this, all other lands were based entirely in crazy fantasy situations. Fontaine did that kind of story the best but Natlan leans into much more real stuff, war and the losses from it, the crazed desperation of a parent in a story quest and even leaned into a very real and dark past for a character in the form of child abuse and abandonment.
I wouldnt agree with statement that story quest have been dropping in quality , i would say that since like sumeru came out almost every story quest was either really good or incredible with some mediocre one s and that one nilou quest , but if during inazuma we had quests of ayaka yoimiya raiden part 1 kokomi yae ayato yelan all of them beign pretty bad but after sumeru came out we got tighnari s which was amazing , nilou s which was bad and cyno which had a lot of mixed opinions , i dont know about nahida but after that we had nothing but bangers with wanderer s archon quest , alhaitham , dehya , nahida part 2 , baizhu , lyney , neuvillette , wriothesley , navia , arlecchino , clorinde and now kinich and xilonen . For every mediocre story quest we get 4 bangers at least right after so i would say that story quests are the best they have ever been
@@Lemonblue3967 I just finished the video, how the heck does branclme to that conclusion? The only thing that's dropped in quality is the En va work because of the strike. to her credit her original goal was just to adopt the lonely child and to fill the void in her heart. its when she wanted her lost daughter back at all cost that she became the bad guy
Regarding the Traveler(Lumine AND Aether) If the Throne of the Dragon Sovereign is an Star, wouldn't it be to far fetched if the Twins were juvenile Dragon Sovereign and Children of Nibelung? 👀 Far fetched, but cool
Does anyone else think Tlazolti's va sounds off??? Like there's barely emotions shown. Its weird, I hope its not ai and just a localization team member or just bad voice direction.
12000 metres from inazuma to natlan is about 12 kilometres, which is a walk of roughly 2 and a bit hours, if teyvat was a real place and you were kaeya/any ice bridging character it would take you a little over 2 hours to walk through 4 countries TEYVAT IS FUCKING TINY
Most open world games that incentivice exploration are way smaller than they are supposed to be unless youre talking about flight simulator. GTA 5s map is massive, yet its a fraction of the size of LA At a certain point it would just stop being fun
i was expecting tlazolli va be more....dramatic, specially the part after we successfully save the kid, she completely loss herself and many of her line have alot of ! mark but her voice so calm for no reason, it really threw me off
I thought this Quest was good, been liking all of the Natlan ones and Fontaine's prior, interesting that they've also been playing into changing the format a little with a couple Nation preamble's and then the main "Character Story" My biggest gripe is Tiazolli...the voice isn't bad, but the direction on her was really terrible, they needed someone who could go from gentle and genuine to Manic and desperate and instead the direction, or what I'd assume the lack of direction made her a Plank of wood. Genuinely I think Qiqi has more direction and passion. It makes me wonder if they were even shown the actual scene at all of context with any of it, Nepecha was fine, could've been better but this is definitely because of the direction as well, the visuals not matching with audio in spots.
I guess it's their version of chocolate atole. Atole is a beverage made from corn grains, there's even a certain company in Mexico that sells little packages of flavored atole (chocolate, strawberry, vanilla). So yeah, it is actually a thing IRL
29:20, wait isnt that chatter kinda right? natlan doesnt have proper ley lines, or at least they were heavely damaged 500 years ago, thats why the night kingdom is doing the ley lines work, rigth?
nope. the original ley line of natlan was damaged in the fight between the primodial one and the sovereign dragon. human still not exist at that era. that mean it must be at least several tens of thousands of years ago in 500 year ago, that ley line already at damaged state, the catalysm just make it worse

she really just adopted her and raised her normally, Nepecha even called her Mom at one point
the problem was that being calledd Mom triggered tf out of her
making her second guess her relationship with Nepecha and send her spiraling into depression
culminating in her creating the plan and abusing and controlling Nepecha from that point on
Also, i think Inazuma and Ruri where just as dark as this one, the little kid was literally ritually sacrificed by removing his organs and filling a cup with his blood, shit was dark already
he experiences all that in a loop for thousands of times.
The ending is basically good on the surface, but then you realize Nepecha still lost two of her parents, and the "mom" who's supposed to be sweet and kind lost her daughter and now just heartbroken, being seen as a criminal.
yeah that poor girl is going to grow up with SOOO many issues. I doubt Teyvat has any actual therapists to let her deal with this trauma

Xilonen's flashlight thing at the scene made it so Tzaolli can hear Nechca's true feelings for e brief moment. Despite doing wrong, Xilonen ensured Tzaolli was taken care of properly before she was confronted and likely punished for her mistakes.
Neuvillette talking about Melusines right after the cutscene was hilarious.

1:49:15 I play with JP dub and Nepecha's va was straight up sobbing here and it was even more heartbreaking
Same with in Korean. The Korean VAs for NPCs can be pretty hit or miss, but this villain was brilliantly voiced
i was very surprised watching this video since i also play with JP dub, the emotional impact on the EN dub is way weaker. kinda sad since i really like this quest.
JP Tiazolli also went super emo on second half when she had mental breakdown while confessing her plan to Xilonen (fitting how NPC model acting+creepy camera angle)
the EN Tiazolli's voice remain too calm even during that scene instead turn me off... its creepy yes, but in a bad way of presentation imo.
no offense to EN VA but I'm still glad I played on JP
Ever since from Sumeru with the whole lore bomb, especially Dottore then the back stories in Fontaine like Lynette and also Wriothesley quest, i felt Genshin has long stopped holding back
Even earlier if you consider the more obscure things, like Ruu and his story all going back to 1.0 due to the thundering fury artifact set telling the story
@@atriyakoller136 yeahh world quests have been dark before, but voiced quest becoming darker is amazinggg
Xilonen joins the mom gang she can go hangout with Xianyun and bring Nepecha to meet Shuyu.
Really a oneesan
Both mommies have the best story quests ❤
@@Jackson-ub1uv
Xilonen focused on showing the kid empathy and kindness, Arlecchino would rather find the person who hurt the kid and deliver judgment.
@@mystery8820 Exactly, which is why I can never get behind people who say that Arlecchino's a good person/parent/guardian/whatever.

This is a hurt mother who went off the deep end to sacrifice her adoptive daughter who came to lover her as her new mom and damage her mind and everyone else as she said “she would do anything and pay any price to get her old daughter back”
I want to ramble here for a moment because I'm not able to finish this quest for some time
BUT HOLY FLIP DID THIS QUEST FELT LIKE A HORROR MOVIE
Especially the messed up room with the walls packed with the stones(Which makes me think that these stones also can create the illusions, hence why the layout was identical to the old house(But maybe im wrong and it meant just the layout and not everything, like the furniture-))
Tiazolli also reminded me of Mother Gothel
This was really messed up,I reaaly hope that everything will be alright with the kid
Same. This quest was so eerie and I loved every second of it.
Genshin is full of dead children, almost every region has one :
- father who lost his daughter (Mondstadt : cemetery behind church)
- Chang the ninth quest, village near wuwang hill Liyue
- the kid from Tsurumi island quest
- Caribert?
- that damned Thelxie event in Fontaine
- Feel free to add one

I just finished the quest and came right here to watch this. This quest was so incredibly written.
Kept crying a bit at the cut scene. Obvi the book was the allegory but the whole twist really shook me
this story , at the first , it was really peaceful like mother want to cure her child, but at later, it was really caught me off guard that her mother was so twisted in her mind and became the sinner. This content of Xilonene' story is so good craftting, good work devs 👏
I was half expecting Nepecha to get a Anemo Vision after the shit she went thought
Happy-go-lucky Natlan. Good old fashioned happy-go-lucky Natlan where nothing can go wrong and everybody is having fun...I'm not sure how much more suffering and misery we can take.
You can now see and visit nepecha at xilonen's shop after this quest.
Never saw many ppl talking about that 😭
Um excuse me, what the actual fuck?

I've always found the mother somewhat eerie right from the very beginning.
Xilonen's Va was really knocking it outta the park. I love her ad-libs, adds alot of personality.
She jumped super high on my favs list, which is funny considering the natlan reveal she was the least interesting to me. (Tho the same happened with Hu Tao XD)
56:20 Paimon's nickname for Xilonen in spanish is "Forjafuegos" which would be "Firesmith" in english. I think it suits her more
Y know with the tribal mission
Ororon would the first 4 star in YEARS to have story quest ( hangout doesnt count) last one i think xiangling CMIIW
Will he have a Story Quest though? I thought Citlali will be the one with the Story Quest.
Like for CoE tribal quests despite Kachina being the first character released with the tribe, Xilonen was the one to get a Story Quest a version later
@@_dragonflies_ I was under the assumptions that the tribe hero is the one getting the story and citlali hasn't been drip marketed yet
Who knows tho

This feels like one of those dark kidnapping crazy mom stories-
therapy will not work. she know her child dead, what she need is her child. force her accept the dead of her child is impossible. this is not problem about mental, she choose to not accept the dead of her child. none therapy can change that
I headcanon Xilonen as a new mother for Nepecha.
Interesting the closer we get to Snezhnaya the darker the story gets. I wonder what dark story we gonna see in the lands of the fatui "not a bad guy we have the same goals or they are good people just different methods"

My biggest gripe is Tiazolli...the voice isn't bad, but the direction on her was really terrible, they needed someone who could go from gentle and genuine to Manic and desperate and instead the direction, or what I'd assume the lack of direction made her a Plank of wood. Genuinely I think Qiqi has more direction and passion.
It makes me wonder if they were even shown the actual scene at all of context with any of it, Nepecha was fine, could've been better but this is definitely because of the direction as well, the visuals not matching with audio in spots.
