Great footage. The island where cobras and treasure is, pulau bangkaru is unmatched beauty. Surfed cobras and turtles. The buzzing sounds from the thick forest is unreal. Its national geographic surfing. You scored awesome there lucky you
Dream surfing holiday for sure... Been living and surfing in Indonesia since 1985.. Sumatra is where it is at... My work as a marine resort consultant took me to many of these places with out my board. I could only watch and take videos... Have A Good One!!! Jerry Gray, Indonesia...
Wow - absolutely stunning shots here - what an incredible experience! Pulau Banyak is just unmatched. We aren't surfers but your videos make us wish we were!!!
@johnnapier1892 the reef structure is definitely unique and cool hey. We would talk about that often, between the lads when waiting for a wave. Thanks for watching. I am glad you enjoyed it
Great video..excellent photography....having fun with friends is the best....luv the beginning-intro with just the music and beautiful tubular peaks...
I had to pause da vid at da end when all da bros are gathered at da table talkin' story...... Da best of times wit da tribe. I feel a physical ache in my gut now in my 60's, as I remember all my bros dat have passed and how many are too sick to surf. To hear dat da boat is now wrecked too just adds to dat gut-punch feelin'. Dat boat & crew were buildin' life-long (best) memories by da month! Boats always got da best cooks & da food after an all-day (multi) sesh tastes heavenly! Sunburnt & unable to lift your arms in da evenings.....remember da nipple-rash?! LOL Good times. Good memories. Good to have lived dat Life....Mahalo.
@bbarnett3469 I absolutely agree mate. I feel lucky and honoured to have been able to experience this trip. I still think about bit every day and it makes me smile. And like you said, it's not just the waves, it's the whole experience. The boys, the food, the boat, the weather, the chilled out vibe, the nights after a few too many bintangs and the nights ya can't keep your eyes open after the sun goes down. It's the whole trip that makes it amazing
Went in 2004 on my own, stayed at a camp..alone ..had the whole place 4-5 ft for 4 days with nobody else😮.Off season it is best... nobody and still works
@@surf_expedition na, this was back in July, when indo was getting pumped by swell after swell. But I saw some pics from the October swell. Looks amazing
@@webbysweekendadventures thanks for the reply, if you stay at the camps can you paddle to the breaks or do u need a boat to get to them? im thinking of going there next year
@marky5493 if toy towns is breaking, you could probably paddle to that break. But that was pretty small when we were there. The other breaks like gunters and Joysticks, you would need to take the boat. But the camps were running people in and out all day.
Yes everyone is ok. Two speedboats were called from Holoban and they rushed there in the dark to help. The boat is still on the reef and is actually pushed even further up near the shore. Happened on Aug 30, 2024.
@timothysheahan9730 Hey mate. Sorry, I am not full bottle on the political situation in Indonesia. I am more than happy to learn tho? Are you suggesting that surf tourism is bad for Indonesia? Or are you calling me Nieve for making a film that tried to capture the beauty of the area instead of highlighting the areas issues?

@marky5493 a couple in the Bay, but they are pretty basic and you are a bit limited for surf spots if its small. Definitely recommend a boat trip
