My great grandmother was born on an " island" in the Hardinger Fiord. It was abandoned when the herring runs failed. My great grandparents immigrated to the US in the 1860s or 70s. These Cabins are ALL over Norway, and especially in remote areas. The Sheets, usually are clean, and its "common knowledge" to bring your own liner or sleeping bag. Most cabins have some kind of payment for overnight stay, or for using gas/wood for stove. The organisation is called DNT and roughly translates into (The Norwegian Tourist Union) and they have 1000's of volunteers that keep them clean and fully supplied. Glad you got to use one, and were happy with your stay!
.... when you see your home and low-key cry. Love how you actually traveled to Forsand. And if you go a little hour (or more) there an amazing place to set up a tent.
I too was a bit amazed. Once a year???!!! Me thinks a new chore should be added. Soak sheets in a tub with a bit of biodegradable soap. Rinse in the stream or using the shower. Wring out water. Hang to dry in bathhouse. New guests can get their linens there when they arrive!
You need to bring a sleeping bag, the sheets are just to protect the bed. The cabin’s are restocked by volunteers, and there are over 500 cabins in norway that are a part of this program. Some of the cabins takes over 7 hours to reach by foot and are very time and money consuming to restock. :)
BeckyP InCalifornia on these huts people bring they’re own sheets to sleep in. So nobody like sleeps right in the sheets already on the bed. They put clean sheets from home and jus tout it over
@@heilie4580 What about the travelers who do not know to bring or forgot to bring clean sheets? I think an added 10 minute chore might be a good thing. None-the-less, a beautiful place to stay!
I think the sleeping bag liners we're a great idea. You could use them again on other adventures such as overnight trains as their cleanliness is sometimes questionable!👍😀

I was like, uh, that's a bit of a leap. Where I live, people would trash that place as soon as they got there. I live in a college town surrounded by poor, working class folks who basically don't give a d about anything but making babies and filling their bellies.
When they walked in, it the view literally looks like its unreal. And it also looks like those pictures of wildlife and nature when you open your laptop.

Nate is always pushing Kara past her comfort zone and then rewards her with coffee in the morning. I think its a healthy deal.
Yes! I've been waiting for this video since you posted on your IG stories! So cool! By far one of the coolest places you've stayed!
.... when you see your home and low-key cry. Love how you actually traveled to Forsand. And if you go a little hour (or more) there an amazing place to set up a tent.
When Kara said they only change the sheets once a year I gasped out loud 🤭 But great video and beautiful place!! Love you guys!
BeckyP InCalifornia yeah but usually everyone bring it.
I've learned while taking cold showers that it's all about your breathing. Once you control it the cold feeling is overcome
I think the sleeping bag liners we're a great idea. You could use them again on other adventures such as overnight trains as their cleanliness is sometimes questionable!👍😀
1.wow just wow!! The cabins THE view is stunning!!! 2.I love that Nate always brings coffee☕ to Kara- such a sweetheart! You are a lovely couple!!! 😍😍
Love this video best quality thx to karas editing skills
Nice drone footage I would love to stay there 😜❤️🥰
You guys are the most loving people to watch, so sweet souls
Thank you for bringing us along on your journey! You both are so inspiring:)
Nate you are so sweet to bring Kara coffee in bed! You both are fabulous and love watching your adventures and your enthusiasm. Thanks for sharing!
5:16 "It's a reminder that people are mostly good."
Rather, it's a reminder that it's a remote place in the fjords of Norway, yet to get spoiled by mass tourism.
The Chinese are coming.
@@AmandaFromWisconsin Theyre already here at locations like "Trolltunga" and "Prekestolen". But places similar to the one in the video arent really for the general tourist.
I was like, uh, that's a bit of a leap. Where I live, people would trash that place as soon as they got there. I live in a college town surrounded by poor, working class folks who basically don't give a d about anything but making babies and filling their bellies.
hi i just wanted to say that your pfp is one of my favorite paintings and it made me happy to see it
@@gaslitworldf.melissab2897 jaha, å kor e så det?
When they walked in, it the view literally looks like its unreal. And it also looks like those pictures of wildlife and nature when you open your laptop.

Hei aurora. Får du leid gratis gjennom dem?
Thanks for making me see the beauty of my country. Being from norway i don’t think of how lucky I am to be surrounded by such beautiful nature❤️
Getting excited for our Scandinavian trip next month, but again this reminds me so much of Scenery from the the Canadian Rockies! Very similar topography!
Hey Kara & Nate, I have seen 100+ videos of yours and this is the one in which you guys looked the happiest and I felt the happiest! I was smiling and feeling so good for full 16mins! You guys are so inspiring! Thank you so much guys! Lots of Love & Happiness! :)
You drove like 500 metres from my house and stayed in the exact same hut as me obnly days after i was there!
I love you Nate and Kara, you bring utter happiness to my day when I watch you

Im from Norway and this just warms my heart that you visit my home country though I'm in us now I'm homesick may you be blessed in your travels
Ahhh my feet hurt so bad!!!! Hahaha. And...THAT WASN’T A SHOWER! So great you two.
Okay! So I've been binging your guys' Norway videos, since its where I was born and breed and plan to live most my life in.
And there's a common joke that Norwegians are kinder/friendlier on the ocean and in the forest/ on mountains. Its always such a fun thing to see when people from outside of Norway sees it and tries our ways of living.
I´m from Norway, but I didn´t even know about this! Wow 😍
When he screams "my feet hurt so bad" made my day!!! Lovely video and couple!!!
You guys need to get 1 million subscribers the internet is hiding you
This is the second video I've seen of these two. I'm not much into traveling, but these two know how to travel.
"stock up on some food", *fills basket with sweets*
I THINK IT INCRDIBLE THAT NATE GETS HER COFFEE EVERY MORNING!!!
looool "I think that's drool.." 😂 Made my day!
He better hope that's drool!
I'm so glad you went to a hytte during your stay in Norway! They are a huge part of Norwegian culture and you can find these cabin villages all over the country :)
Me: hey babe I think I want Ramen for lunch
Him: Cool where you want to go ?
Me : ... OMG a new Kara and Nate video *never answers question*
The Queen Next Door what?😂
The Queen Next Door: Did you finally get lunch?😅
@@brilliantbutblue lol yes I did we went to Ramen Tatsu-ya in Houston. It was delicious.
You: I am an idiot typing like this
The drive going there is absolutely beautiful. I don't mind driving and hiking with a view like that.
Lmao I love it that Nate told Kara “that’s not a shower 🚿 “ 😂 dying
Gotta love it ! Travelling together..Being Together because you want to . Awesome !
