I just love how you show all the ingredients at the beginning of the video. Such a nice presentation. All I hear is the cooking of delicious food. Thank you for this simple and tasty recipe. I am learning so much from your videos.
I have to say a huge thank you for sharing these videos, very much appreciated. Simple, straightforward home cooking that doesn't need to be complex to be delicious. I'm not the greatest cook around but I'm improving on the stovetop. The method of simmering a soya-based sauce to thicken gave me a few ideas (used too much water before!) and I've made adaptations of these dishes with great success (I use cornflour as it's easier to get here than tapioca). And I have to say the wok is probably my favourite cookware, it's very versatile and there's nothing quite like the fresh taste of stir fried vegetables at high heat. The only downside is that it takes more work to maintain & keep rust-free!
+Harkz0r .... Wow, what can i say. Sound like , we have one happy camper again. Your very welcome. Yes! you can elevate your cooking skill by watching and cooking the same. Thanks for watching.
+sara yangon ..... that is very good and i have good news for you. I just made another cooking video , using 3 kind of mushroom ( king trompet mushrrom. fresh shitake mushroom & regular brown button mushroom. ) in chinese HOT CLAY POT with pork. coming soon. Thanks for watching.
Chef Fai - thank you so much for this excellent recipe! I made it in only a few minutes, and it was absolutely delicious. The way you explain the techniques and the time for each step is perfect for me, as well. My little son enjoyed it so much!
You can use sherry wine, that are very common for western cook. Here is the link from amazon.com how it look like. Thanks for asking. Thanks for watching.

Very good. This will be the meat dish tonight. Chicken and mushrooms on rice, served with with baby bok choy in spicy garlic black bean sauce. My wife bought a big bag of bok choy today, I will be putting it in everything, just to use it up.
Dear Chef, I want to thank you for your lovely comment about me about a week ago❣️ I proudly shared it w/ all of my friends and family! I broke my leg (ugh!) and am recovering slowly but surely. Hi there fantastic video I actually cooked your beef in mushrooms this evening it was delicious although I can’t seem to find tapioca starch I ended up using wheat starch not sure if that made much difference thanks for your videos
There will be almost the same. Or next time you can use regular corn starch. And that is wonderful you able to make this type of cooking. Thanks for asking and thanks for watching.
Oh! yeah, duck cooking recipe for my dedicated viewer from Berlin, Germany. Last week I went to check fresh whole duck. they are huge, can't fit my pot for cooking as a whole. Maybe I try chopping it to pieces. LOL....Thanks for reminding me. :-)
Question when you are marinating the chicken can you use cornstarch or potato starch in place of tapioca starch? Also I would like to thank you for the work you do on this channel I truly enjoy your recipes.
Yes, use cornstarch instead of Tapioca starch ( the reason I used tapioca starch is that they are highly available in our asian groceries and they also cost much much less than cornstarch. I am please, that you have found my chinese cooking channel to your expectation. thank you for watching.
Ok my friend, this is tonight's dinner. Very excited for your recipes, they Always come out Perfect ! I just don't have any hoisin sauce, not sure what other sauce that comes close, as I don't know what it tastes like. My choices that I have are Worcestershire sauce, teriyaki sauce or Oyster sauce, oh and of course Soy sauce. Hopefully you can get back to me asap, lol to help me out 😁 thanks
Hi Chef Fai. I love your videos and in my opinion, your method of demonstrating the recipes are the best. At least it works perfectly fine for me. So thank you for your postings. I have a question. What kind of oil you recommend for your frying recipes?
Thank you so much for appreciating my editing style. I would recommend to use peanut oil for hot heat stir fry cooking. It got property that it can stand higher temperature before it start to emit smoke ( higher smoke point compare to most cooking oil ) for deep frying, i use regular canola oil for it is less expensive that peanut oil. Thanks for asking.
Hi .. I couldn't find measurements of ingredients like how much chicken ,mushroom soya etc . It must be there as you mentioned in the video .. canyou please guide me to get the measurements Thank you
+Kristin Cunningham --- I don't see any different , using tapioca or corn starch. But sticking on the pan ? I would add a little more cooking oil to hot pan and to the meat, before stir frying. Thanks for asking.
+Kristin Cunningham You have to use a lot of oil (If your wok/pan isn't well-seasoned). When you take out the chicken, use a slotted spoon. You can dispose of some oil and leave a few T. to cook the vegetables.
Hi again! Hope you are well. If I wanted to make this recipe and add zucchini to it, when would you suggest I put in the zucchini? Or do you have a recipe with chicken and zucchini and mushrooms? Thanks
Thanks for watching. I will be making another videos with 3 different kind of mushroom, stir fry with pork belly next week. I hope you watch that . Thanks.
Hi my friend, just finished cooking and serving dinner and it was Delicious. As I didn't have the hoisin sauce, I just used what I had so I used a few tablespoons of Oyster sauce. It was Still awesome as All your recipes are. I served it over a bed of rice but made sure as I was cooking to have Enough juice flow so it wouldn't be dry. 😁 came out great though, thanks. Maybe you can start the ingredient Measurements at the beginning of the video, I know it would help me out, not sure about anyone else though. But thanks for another delicious Spread 💛😁💚 Much Love from America
Oh great! you finally made it. Good thing you selected oyster sauce, as I suggested in the first place. Thanks for suggesting those where to put my ingredients list and also thanks for watching.
Try to control the heat. Also don't wait too long for the cooking oil to heat up. It might be already too hot. After stir fry the minced garlic for 5 to 10 seconds, immediately add your next ingredients ( meat or veggie ) Thanks for asking and also Thanks for watching..

No. Vinegar is vinegar, and wine (well) it's wine. The process in making each is completely different. FYI the wine he is using is Xaoxing rice wine (Chinese cooking wine). Hope that helps.
I have recently found your channel and will be trying some of your recipes this week. I am worried about overcooking the chicken. Can I add a pinch of baking soda with the chicken marinade to tenderise the meat?
Yes, you can add baking soda to tenderized the meat. What I would do, is just add baking soda to meat and then rinse it , before using in the recipe. Thanks for asking and thanks for subscribing.
Since I'm out of a lot of these ingredients right now... it's way to close to dinner time for me to have viewed this awesome recipe... haha! Great video!
Love your cooking so much cz simple save time and yet delicious, ,, but i will like to ask you is hoisin sauce the same with oyster sauce ?? Thanks for your vidio and answer with the bless of GOD hope you can came up more delicious Asian food

Im just using my cp and will share it once im in ny lapap for you to have many subbscribers but i request that pls put the ingredients in the link too for us to read it carefully and copy so we can cook for our family and friends and tell them to watch your cooking video
Thanks for watching my 4 year old first few cooking video. I was at leaning stage of editing. I am not much familiar with this limited feature editing software. Thanks for watching.
I used different size lids, base on how much I am cooking. As long as it cover it, so steam helps it cook, that will be fine, Thanks for asking and thanks for watching.
I would used slices much more than quarters, if i am doing quick stir fry cooking ( example: stir fry with noodle or with lot of other ingredients to mix with ). for quarters, may need a little longer to cook ( example, stew or cooking with lot of sauce mixture to simmer ( covered ) for few minutes. thanks for asking.
i used canola cooking oil. but peanut oil will be the best. got higher smoke point. also i used cast iron wok, it is heavy and thick. some stainless steel , think wok are not recommended for high heat stir fry cooking. thanks for asking.
gotta ask this. You're using electric stovetop and a round bottom wok. how do you stabilize your wok? if you are using a wok ring, does you're wok bottom touch your burner? mine doesn't. do I need a bigger wok ring?
It is recommended that we should used flat bottom wok for electric stove. Unfortunately, we move from apartment with gas range to an apartment with electric range / stove only. I love my wok very much, that i just add wok ring. and it work for me. It doesn't touch the burner but the heat radiation is enough to satisfied my stir fry cooking experience.( all the video you see in my cooking channel , uses this set up ) Thanks for asking.
Debbie Boons In my opinion, experience and observation, most Chinese style wok cooking , utilized ginger & garlic combination. I also used combination with shallots in few of my cooking. See one of my cooking video in this link. Thanks for asking. ua-cam.com/video/FZBc8DDxkRQ/v-deo.html
I use only brands that i been using for a long time, meaning tested brand. New brands popping up , every now and then, from different countries. Never know what ingredients they made from. taste maybe the same, or maybe plain salty. thanks for asking.
Umm Amirah jn You are right! so sorry, i screwed up, my mistake. Yes, your correct , missing sesame oil in my ingredients list. Thanks for pointing out.
Your right, sesame oil was not listed, my apology. It was 1 Tbsp. The Hoisin sauce was listed as 1 Tbsp. ( sorry, those are my early video, and editing, still learning stage. )
Yes I used Corn starch cuz I dont have tapioca, and frankly I don't know anything about it, Only Cornstarch. But this Recipe is AWESOME. MAKING IT AGAIN TONIGHT 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I would used slices much more than quarters, if i am doing quick stir fry cooking ( example: stir fry with noodle or with lot of other ingredients to mix with ). for quarters, may need a little longer to cook ( example, stew or cooking with lot of sauce mixture to simmer ( covered ) for few minutes. thanks for asking.
what oil do they use? I have a problem that the ginger and garlic get burnt almost immediately. If i lower the heat, the ginger/garlic barely sizzles
i used canola cooking oil. but peanut oil will be the best. got higher smoke point. also i used cast iron wok, it is heavy and thick. some stainless steel , think wok are not recommended for high heat stir fry cooking. thanks for asking.
HAPPY WOK for the reply! will buy some on my next visit to the shops
Jimmy Ly happy cooking.
HAPPY WOK That is a "cast iron" wok in the video?
The Boho Chick that is an old old old stainless steel wok. Thanks for asking .
gotta ask this.
I noticed you used ginger and garlic in all your recipes. Why is that so? How about garlic and shallots? Are they ok to use?
Debbie Boons In my opinion, experience and observation, most Chinese style wok cooking , utilized ginger & garlic combination. I also used combination with shallots in few of my cooking. See one of my cooking video in this link. Thanks for asking. ua-cam.com/video/FZBc8DDxkRQ/v-deo.html
if i you different brand of soy sauce and other sauce that you used, is it the taste will be different?
I use only brands that i been using for a long time, meaning tested brand. New brands popping up , every now and then, from different countries. Never know what ingredients they made from. taste maybe the same, or maybe plain salty. thanks for asking.
