It's really too bad that the show got cancelled from CBS when it did. I've been pleasantly surprised watching these post-Dawson shows. It seems like MG went through a down period for a little while after Richard left, partially due to some weak celebrity choices on some weeks. But by the time they got to this point in MG79, they had been cranking out a lot of great episodes. Charles in particular turned things up a notch with some great humor after Richard left. The show was never quite the same without Richard, but it was still a great show.
@@charliegeraldjr5926 Thanks, and yes I'm aware. But from what I've seen of the syndicated show, it's not quite the same as the CBS show, though I'm still looking forward to watching the syndicated episodes here on this channel.
Yea, it really looks like they found the early years spirit again, so to speak, were having fun again and joking around. ;0) The show felt like MG73 again to me at least.. ;0)
I actually liked the show better after Richard left (after a little while of them getting in the groove). It seemed so much less stressed. The stars and Gene seemed more relaxed.
@@Paul71H I always thought of the Daily syndicated series as Match Game 70s(CBS)meets MGPM(Weekly syndicated). The final Match Game series (1979-82)was like a car running on two wheels.
@@michelmadaire257 It's a standing rectangular enclosure that has a pay phone and you would put coins in it to make calls.A folding door was included to open it to go in and out.
Do you MGP or anyone else know: how much time passed between the CBS cancellation & the time the show got the green light to air in daily syndication version
We will be delayed on further episodes being uploaded due to a conversion error on my copy of Episode 1429. If anybody would like to share this episode with us, our email is matchgameproductions@gmail.com This would help move along our uploading schedule. For now, I have to wait about a week to convert my old 2004 episode from VHS to DVD to fix the audio problem on my 2015 copy from GSN. I had no audio on this program that recorded for some reason!

I just loved watching this as a kid on summer holidays...
What a show Match Game would've been had they not touched it in 1977.Could've been like Price is Right as far as it's longevity.
It definitely could have lasted thru the 80's but when the 90's rolled around. Gene probably would have retired at the time.
I love how Charles never applauds for anything or anyone! 😂😆🤣
"What's a phone booth" everyone asks now adays. Just try and find a pay phone these days.
At least there's plenty of older movies, TV shows, and commercials to show them what they are. :) Try making them understand dial-up internet, though.
whats a phone booth

@@georgemaster689 i know
We still have them in the mall
This episode was done before Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Superman II were not in theatres [however they all on DVD].
Wow ! What a wonderful win for Jack Jones ! Love this Match Game 79 !!
Love it: dude named Dana *Basher* is in construction.
If someone hadn't already written this, I was going to.
Lynx South. what does your comment mean? I don't understand.
That was a tall girl
Sad to see the beautiful Dana go, wish she would have won again, but wherever she is I hope she's doing great
Obviously I'm referring to the previous tall beautiful female contestant of course, Not the male contestant who also happens to be named Dana, lol

Matt Hartley Jr Match Game 79 last tape date was 3/11/79. June 30, 1979 was when the first MG Synd. Episode was taped
@@MatchGameProductions okay thanks so much for the information & thanks for you do to keep this great show alive
Matt Hartley Jr you are so welcome! It’s really fun to share all the episodes with everybody!
@@MatchGameProductions I love watching them every day!
Don’t think I’ve ever seen another Dana lady.
Loni was easily a 10.
Loni looked like Barbara Stanwyk (Stanwick?).

i before e except after c... when you want the SOUND "ee".
but veil is non pronounced veel.
"I" before "E," except after "C"
Or when sounding like "A," as in "neighbor" and "weigh"
"Veil" meets the second criterion
I'll miss Dana 📍
🙄
but cupcakes and cakes are not the same thing
Same word=match 😉
I get so sick of Joyce's voice! Plus she's useless as a panelist, she doesn't even try to match, and she's not as funny as she thought she was!
So often that damn star wheel landed on the most boring celebrity....ugh
Now you know why it was such a bad idea. That and Richard leaving led to the show's demise.
What is it with giving us all the surprises on the title. What’s the point of watching this if you tell us everything before the show. Geez....
I know. And because of him doing that, I've had FF several times through the actual game :(
