How does it feel to be in the army bro? I've always wondered
Well I was in the Marine Corps from 2001 to 2005. So this was years ago. Times have changed and I’m sure all branches have changed since then as well. But that’s a deep question man. Hard to answer, but for me I joined to give myself a since of direction. I didn’t know where I was going and knew I would do nothing with my life if I didn’t leave the town I grew up in. So becoming a Marine gave me Pride, a brotherhood I still have till this day. Knowing I was apart of something much bigger than just me or anything I’ve ever been apart of in my life and represented a whole country when I was oversees. So my actions were not looked at just mine but a whole country. ItS a lot to deal with especial for a 18 to 21 year old. But I loved it. But it was hard adjusting to civilian especially after combat. One of my brothers just released a documentary called “Bastards Road”. It explains a lot in it. If you get a chance look it up. But like I said deep question. Hope I somewhat answered it.

React to Avenged Sevenfold Coming Home. And also the band consists of 5 members. And trhe guitarist you're referring too is Synester Gates. He was actually placed in #50 for best guitarists 100 guitarists of all time. And in 2008 he was titled the sexiest man alive.
If you liked this PLEASE react to Danger Line by Avenged Sevenfold. Another song about the military and its really underappreciated in my opinion. The end is for sure to have you in tears. I heard this song the first time when I was 14 and I had a really rough time in school, I used to play Avenged sevenfold through that whole summer and it brings back lovely memories. Even though I was all alone, I was still enjoying that time at my local beach, watching sunsets with a camp fire listening to Avenged Sevenfold. It may sound depressing but to me they were beautiful moments with only me and my mind enjoying some time away from all the shit I had going on in my life back then.
This band made my teenage years pleasurable.
Please give the song “In Loving Memory” by the band Alter Bridge a listen. It’s a tribute to the lead guitarist’s mother who passed away.

M.I.A is still to this day one of my favourite songs.
Back when the album came out, for some reason my iPod nano (yes, I’m old) downloaded all the songs apart from this and Strength of the World. I went for months without knowing these songs existed.
They are both the songs that impact me the most on the album now.

First time I heard this song was in '05 after I bought this cd. Middle school days had me feeling that vibe.
I was in highschool cruising MySpace music at the time when I came across a fan music video using Blackhawk Down footage.
New to the channel and have loved A7X since high school. First time I heard this song was on the album and I really liked it. But seeing them play it live in 2005 in Chicago, right after September 11th, was insane. During the last section, an American flag was shown on the massive screen and I broke down in tears. Matt, the singer, did the same thing and could barely sing. This song is important.
Hey there. Just found your videos a few days ago and I've watched quite a few of them. I love how intensely your emotions come through. It's nice to see more and more people willing to step out of their comfort zone when it comes to music. Too many people miss out on so much. Anyway, if you are feeling brave and want to try out something heavy, might I suggest "Lamb of God - Dead Seeds" or maybe "Amon Amarth - Raise Your Horns". Might want to pull up lyrics along side them though.
Loved this song, it was 2005 I bought this cd and saw them in warp tour. I saw them 2 more times but I still don't know any album like this one.

I was about 18-19 when I first heard this song. It was back in 2004. I had just become a fan and went and bought this album. This is such a powerful song.
M. Shadows on Vocals, Synister Gates on Lead Guitar, Zachy Vengence on Rythm Guitar, Johnny Christ on Bass, And Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan (RIP) on Drums.
M.I.A means Missing In Action. Its a term when a soldier goes missing in combat. Killed, or captured nobody knows.
The song is about war from the perspective of a soldier. A strong and honorable soldier who fights for what they think is right. After a while they look at the death and destruction and begin to question their actions and why they are doing it. Their friends are dying all around them and they are responsible for the deaths of other human beings but they are forced to keep fighting because if they dont they will be killed by the people they are killing. Finally, they make it home, broken, in disbelief and full of regret.

This group is amazing.
Some of their best songs; Ch 4, Second Heartbeat, Unholy confessions, Save me, Fiction, and strength of the world. But that's just my personal opinion. Musically I believe them to be the best.

I would LOVE to see you react to "Exist" by them. To be fair, its a long one (15ish minutes) but its BEAUTIFUL and the speech at the end ( by Neil Degrass Tyson) is very uplifting, albeit pretty emotional, in my opinion.

The reason the music sounds like video games is because Avenged Sevenfolds sound is based in neo-classical. If you took neo-classical and made it 8-bit, it would sound like video game music.

I'll throw out another vote in support of Buried Alive by Avenged Sevenfold. So Far Away is also great but might be even better after you've listened to a little more of their pre-Nightmare stuff to understand the weight of it. The Stage is one of my favourite songs of recent years too and both it and So Far Away are hugely enhanced by their music videos.
