You need to start setting the minnow traps for your pond to feed the Muskie now. In Fall the minnow population is way higher and more diverse than it will be in the spring. Spring they will be at the lowest population as they get reduced over winter and will be concentrating on the areas they will spawn at. Yes, it easy to load up on them if you know the spawning spots but that cuts directly into the future minnow production in the body of water. You will be Surprised at the volume of live food it takes to keep a Muskie alive yet alone getting them to grow. My buddies Father had 6 Musky in his pond, and we kept all small perch we caught in the boat fishing to take there and feed them. They would come right to you at the feeding spot and gobble them as fast as you tossed them in. They were no other living things in the 2 acre pond but the Musky and it was full of fish when he added them in.

Hey trapper J we used an auger similar to that one to put umbrellas in the sand on the beach. Try a consistent spin pulling it in and out instead of yanking on it. We would break drills all the time that way.

Sweet pull on that 58 pounder. I just got my largest at 55 pounds up here on the west side of Washington. I've got buddies who get 65 and 70 pounders. Definitely some big boys.
