Windu vs Palpatine scene FIXED (Palpatine's real fight speed)

- In this video I tried to fix some possible mistakes that George Lucas may have made when creating this scene.
Palpatine is supposed to kill the 3 Jedi Masters lightning fast, but his fighting style turned out to be slower than it should have been. I fixed that sequence and other things (like the ending of the scene).
I hope you enjoy this video! It would be great to hear some opinions about it ;)

funny thing is this scene is already sped up in the original because the actor couldnt really fight that fast
also if you look closely, they used CGI for lots of the scenes, its especially noticed when you look at the face. but Ian did a great job fighting for how old he was
They used cgi here and they also had a stunt actor there’s pictures of Ian with the stunt together
I think i saw on a dvd extra that ian and sam found the fight challenging since they are not great stuntmen lets just say that.

Anakin said when he walked into the room he just saw flashes of red and purple light, imagine it in that speed.
Kind of shows you just how good Windu was at saber combat

@@sebastianhernandez4176 No, he's a major asshole and he deserves to be known less. Especially after the hell he put Ahsoka through and after he treated Anakin like trash for his whole life.
@@MMAisTHEbestSPORT08
He didn’t treat Anakin like trash…. He was being protective over Anakin…. He knew Anakin had dark tendencies and that Anakin broke rules…. If anyone was to blame it was Anakin not Mace Windu…. Mace Windu was wise to be suspicious abt Anakin…. Anakin was dumb for letting himself get married and then believing what Sidious told him….
For some reason I was actually expecting this to be a total meme and making Palpatine very *slowly* cutting through the Jedi Masters XD

Same
No "It's treason, then"? It's treason, then.
I was surprised too but the replacement, “you will die then” was insane and brought shivers down my spine lol. If he said THAT in the movie, reactions might have been different.
In the novel, Palps speedblitzed the Masters, but he let Mace live because he wanted Anakin to have to betray someone he had a connection to in order to cement his commitment to the dark side and make the betrayal more powerful. Without realizing it, he allowed Mace to slip into his self-created "Vaapad" fighting style which allowed him to channel Palpatine's own darkness and fight as fast as him, which actually put Palpatine in danger and was not what he planned at all.
He could of killed him. Mace was physically stronger much younger. Palpatine is just a better force user. Maze beat him fair and square. It doesn’t matter if he did because of his technique. He has more stamina than palps. He couldn’t of extended that fight much longer physically. It wasn’t orchestrated. Heck even maul would tear palps apart with sheer physical power and stamina. I would argue that maul could of been the most powerful sith if it wasn’t for obiwans sheer luck.
What are you talking about, the novel literally says Palps was in power the whole time. Let me quote:
"You're the chosen one, Anakin," Mace said, his voice going thin with strain. This was beyond Vaapad; he had no strength left to fight against his own blade. "Take him. It's your destiny." Mace's blade bent so close to his face that he was choking on ozone. "Anakin, he's too strong for me-"
It is also utterly ridiculous to assume that vaapad is the ultimate OP trump card against any and all Sith. The ancient Sith emperors and warriors would wipe the floor with Windu, and Palps wasn't far behind them in power.
@@Lernos1 I was just talking about the sword fight, which the text does call an impasse. And when Palpatine had just a moment's distraction when Anakin entered the room, it was all Mace needed to cut his saber handle and disarm him. If he'd had murderous intent at that moment of distraction, he could have killed him instead of disarm. So he was a definite threat.
From the point where Palpatine unleashed his lightning, yes, Mace was overpowered.
@@pietrpiepir6444 Palpatine knew Anakin was coming long before he entered the room or even the hallway, since he could feel his fear. Windu could feel the fear too, only he attributed it to Sidious until he realized his mistake - too late, of course. That is also explicitly stated in the text. Palpatine didn't need the saber and could've used the Force to protect himself, and his reflexes and speed were ungodly, on par with Mace's, but his Force would've overpowered Windu anyway. Also, if you look at the fight scene in the film, you can see that Palps actually could've killed Windu long before Mace got his own opportunity, there's a moment when Palpatine rotates his blade and draws it close to Windu's chest, but stops and waits to continue the duel normally. He allowed the fight to happen the way it did. Also, he obviously felt Mace's intent to arrest him, so he knew Windu wouldn't kill him unless he changed his mind later.
@@Lernos1 I think its pretty clear Mace was a threat to Palpatine once the fight got started, which is all I'm saying.
Just fast enough to make him seem more powerful, but not so fast that it feels too edited or too difficult to follow.
My friend sitting next to me also wants me to say that he liked the extra Sith scream added during the fight because it indirectly makes Mace Windu seem stronger because it doesn't work on him the way it did on the other hapless Jedi.
You are right. I tried to balance the speed but it isn't easy.
And yes, that was the purpose of that added Sith scream. I also wanted to show that Windu was really beating Palpatine so he tried to use all his Sith powers because he was in danger.
Thanks for your comment!
no suc thimg as fast or powerful or not
@Dereck Erazohernandez An important point as well, but this was (imho) a much needed fix to the scene. As much as he was plotting and playing the long game, Palpatine actually was in real danger here. One of the few curve balls he was handed while establishing his Empire ^^
The writers of the Star Wars universe gave a reason for Jackson wanting a unique lightsaber, saying it was the hardest saber to create but he mastered both sides so his being attuned to the dark side allowed him to resist the effects. Also explained how he was not calm and cool like Yoda and the other jedi but made it on the council. He was basically, the Mad Eye Moody of Star Wars.
@Dereck Erazohernandez no he was in real danger mace literally would have killed him if anakin didnt cut off his hand
Why did he have to get thrown out the windu

“The novels are not canon.” - both Lucas and Disney. It doesn’t matter what the novels say. Only what appears in the movies is legitimate
,
Who cares about companies?
@@electrictroy2010you pulled that quote out your a**. Disney said that. Lucas was involved with the novels. Like how he wrote the prologue to Shatterpoint, a story about Windu.
@@electrictroy2010 In order of precedence, canon is the movies, the novels, then the radio dramas. These were all overseen (if not created) by Lucas. This was the way canon was established back in 1977. Star Wars has turned into a religion, with many different sects having a different accepted canon. As the creator, Lucas has more credibility (in terms of original intent) than anyone else. Disney has the intellectual property rights, so in terms of generating revenue, they determine what is "official", though the idea that they can simply discard Lucas' original intent is intellectually bankrupt.
Even if one looks solely at the movies for canon material, there ends up being great debate. Look at the Luke/Vader confrontation in ROTJ. People assert things about this fight (such as the notion that Vader basically LET Luke win, or that Luke could only win by using the dark side) that Lucas explicitly did not intend. It has become "cafeteria" Star Wars. People pick and choose a little of what they like, and discard what they do not.
Perhaps this is a sign that this is truly a mythology which has taken root in our culture. These are all signs of it becoming ingrained in our public consciousness. It has been almost 50 years since the first screening. Can you think of ANY story in popular culture of the last 100 years that has had this effect? I consider myself privileged to be among those who can say "I saw that when it first came out, with my buddies at the movies!"
@@gdkopinionator4356 Well, it clearly looks as if Luke tapped into the dark side. But even then, there is no way he would be stronger than Vader. From Vader's perspective the fight was unwinnable. As a Sith, he needed his son to overthrow Sheev. And if he was already turning by the time he lost his footing, he would have had too much love for his son, to be able to destroy him.
This is an interpretation, sure. But I'd rather have that than Luke somehow rising above all other Jedi and beating one of the most powerful Sith Lords in galactic history, through sheer force. Even with the Force on his side, he had only known about it for 4 years and had barely any training at all. This only works with the OT being a vacuum, the prequels showed a bunch of Jedi who trained daily for decades and still came nowhere near beating an Episode 6 Vader. But if Vader had no motive to fight to the death, it makes sense that an enraged Luke would eventually get the upperhand.
The fact that people can interpret Star Wars in different ways is a strength, the debate keeps the franchise alive. Despite Disney's incompetence.
Yes yes let the power of good editing flow through you
That’s what I love about palpatine, his speed is what makes him such a powerful foe in a lightsaber duel
The Revenge of the Sith novelization told that as Anakin entered Palpatine's quarters, all he could see is just bright flashes of light due to how fast Mace and Sidious were moving.
At 0:38
That's what I was expecting when I watched to movie.
Really well done.
Thanks! I'm glad you understood the purpose of this video :)

It's quite funny tho
So much better, this is propably most clumsy and akward fight in prequels, your edition makes him and Mace Windu look more Powerful and it's good (and acctualy both Mace and Palpatine moved so fast that you could only see a blur and lighsaber clashes)
Though I feel the windu vs palp part may never be great the part when he just slices down the other 3 was amazing. Fast and to the point like how it should’ve been.
The Palpatine and Yoda fight is also weird

"Anakin! The editors are taking over!"
"Now THIS is editing!"
Thank you so much for fixing this. This has been a huge problem. People who don’t know the novelization don’t understand that there was a screw up in the editing process for this scene. They were still working on Anakin vs obi-Wan and unfortunately this slipped past George Lucas. I’m sure that George is so analytical about it that he doesn’t even notice the timing being slower than it was supposed to be. I was just trying to defend Mace Windu on a poll. Sadly due to this production error during the release of Revenge of the Sith, people don’t understand how incredibly fast this was. Palpatine killed 3 Jedi Masters in under 30 seconds. Thank you for editing this to show what actually happened
No problem! I'm glad you like it and I agree with your comment. That's why I made this 😀
@@darthkronos4214 this in actually speed really highlights the reality that Mace Windu won the duel. A lot of people have this misconception that Sidious threw the fight to lure Anakin to the dark side. Yet, in all actuality Windu had achieved one of the greatest victories of all time. It’s poetry really. Windu represents the greatest triumph and abrupt demise of the Jedi Order. He was the perfect Jedi and defeated the strongest Sith Lord “it’s difficult to say that Sidious was best with 100% confidence because of Emperor Viciate being in the same category, Darth Bane as well but that’s not cannon” still though. The fate of the Jedi Order really came down to Mace pleading “Don’t listen to him Anakin”. All the evil and suffering that came after was all the result of Anakin’s betrayal. For me, that’s why I love Mace Windu. He single handily destroyed the entire empire before it was even formed and saved the galaxy. Yet, he trusted Anakin for once and that was the moment Skywalker killed him. (Again man, thanks for creating this. I just appreciate seeing it through the lens of how it happened and not the production mistake slow motion version. Disney might end up bring Mace Windu back and it would be awesome because he’s my favorite Jedi. Anakin is also until he turned. Yet, the one thing that would really sadden me is, I attribute the end of the Jedi Order with the death of Windu. He’s the martyr.
It's a shame that Ian McDiarmid absolutely hated filming this scene, but I can understand why. He thought he was too old to film an action sequence, and he didn't really like the fact that Palpatine used a lightsaber at all. In ROTJ Palpatine treats lightsabers like they're totally insignificant Jedi toys, so it doesn't really make sense that he'd have one. In an earlier version of this scene, Palpatine actually uses Anakin's lightsaber instead, in fact you can still see the iconic hilt in some shots.
In fairness, Plapatine is an opportunist whose principles come second. If he has a tool, he will exploit it.
That was always an arguable issue with the Emperor in the series in general I think at least initially, basically going just by the movies we have zero indication Palpatine even ever trained with lightsabers let alone is an all time great talented speed freak with them! and yet he objectively at the end of the day despite his frail appearance is apparently not only good with a lightsaber but one of the best ever with them and capable of fighting with them with blinding speed and power, but this never being apparent or even implied in parts 4-6 way back when and then also showing zero of him with it in the prequels as well just made this sort of a random as heck kinda revelation ya know lol, def coulda been done better and obviously while the actor is beyond legendary as the role and the only man who could ever really play Palpatine, he is or was in real life just an old man likely with zero training and so they had a duel issue the actor himself not fast or particularly agile or likely even familiar with choreography in general,+ the fact leading up to this scene spanning 5.8 movies they never shows hinted at or implied even one single moment Palpatine knew how to use a Lightsaber, so thats the only jarring thing about this ya know, but obviously now and since he did fight here against Mace and the 3 Jedi and Yoda and the way he moved obviously he did in fact master all Lightsaber forms and general combat over the years all his life likely just off screen and in secret or totaly compartmentalized. That all being said and again even though the actors age and physical imitations played a part I still love Palpatine's 2 Lightsaber fight scenes particularly this one against Windu. Oh also there is the added fact that it is sort of ironic that it is also heavily implied that despite training probably all hisd life otr at least dang sure in his younger Sith early days maybe or likely say particularly in his 20s-40s ish I'd assume despite apparently mastering all or most Lightsaber combat forms and being exceptionally good agile powerful ultra fast etc in actual Lightsaber combat, he also hated it with a passion and if it were up to him he'd never fight with a Lightsaber ever if he could help it, which is definitely a strange thing, but not impossible just kinda crazy to think about is all but sortas fits with his personality type, kinda like Kim Jong Un of North Korea lol, il use him as an analogy, despite the appearances of him as a overweight relatively unimpressive man despite being there Leader, apparently he is in reality a crack shot and amazing with a gun lol. But like for real not hyperbole or absurd mythological propaganda this time in North korea's case, anyways random analogy lol.
@elylove2675 I would assume because the very notion he ever fought with 2 was not even decided yet as that was only shown on the show years later ya know, so more like a later stage retcon /addition.
Remember Plaguis taught Palpatine everything he knew so of course Palps would be good at lightsaber dueling.
@@Chris_ThorndykeThis is a big problem the prequels have, the OT didn't have. In most fantasy settings, you'd give weapons significance by providing multiple weapon types and different ways to use magic. In the ot, you'd just assume that Palpatine was a sorcerer capable of conjuring spells through the corruption of the force. I honestly thought that high level Siths were above using lightsabers in favor of dark magic, which made Palpatine so much cooler in the OT. Palpatine/Sidious is kind of lame in the Prequels.
Honestly I find it hard to believe that those three would go down so easily
Well Kit Fisto primarily used Form I in lightsaber combat, and that won't last very long against a master of all 7 forms, especially a sith master.
That's because people forget how powerful Lucas said Palpatine was because the video games kept stretching the powers to avoid repetition. Lucas stated that Palpatine was the most powerful sith lord who ever lived. I know that makes TOR fans mad but whatever. Truth is truth.
Sidious was just that fast, the movie didn't really showed that very well
Absolutely terrible editing in the movies that makes it look like they were distracted looking at the ceiling as he calmly cut them down. I can SOMEWHAT understand Windu and Palpatine being more conservative with their moves since they're equally matched, but still, it all looks geriatric. Even the Vader vs Obi-Wan from Ep. IV looks more agile and tense. This video is very rough, to be honest...not trying to be mean, just that it's mostly sped up and chopped...but at least it gives an idea of how it SHOULD have looked.
@@christopherspaulding9283 Stop it man. This scene is ridiculous. It is a bit better in that version but it stills not right
the scene basically cements how strong Windu actually was
windu is always contradicting or denying anyone who asks or demands him something, lol
Episode I:
qui gon: "he is to be trained then?
windu: "NO. he will NOT be trained."
Episode II:
Dooku: "you're impossibly outnumbered."
Windu: "Pfft. I don't _Think_ so..."
Episode III:
Palpatine: "I AM, the senate!"
Windu: "NOT.YET."
He nopes Yoda, Anakin, Obi Wan, and Qui-Gon constantly, and nopes Jango Fett's freaking head off right in front of his son.
even when palpatine tried to use sith powers to kill him, windu used Vapaad, which is basically the "no u" version of lightsaber combat that redirects dark side energy back on it's inflicter.
he's basically the uno reverse card of the jedi order haha
The only reason he did is because Palpatine let him live. He could've killed him at any moment

Well, the ROTS novel says that he and Windu seemed to be fading in and out of existence, so I can approve it.
part of me wishes we could get a clone wars-style reimaging of this fight. let my boy kit fisto last more than two seconds, and show palpatine just having a laugh being able to let loose and fight the jedi he's been wanting to for ages. but this is still great work!
This is how the novel describes the fight, the Jedi masters were no match for Sidious and his speed, not to mention the scream threw them off
The scream wasn't in the novel. Sidious moves so fast there's just a flash of red light and suddenly Tiin's head is on the floor and Kolar has a hole through his brain.
Absolutely terrific video. When I rewatch _Revenge of the Sith,_ *this* is what I will watch for the Sidious vs Jedi Council duel.
From the perspective of a martial artist, I have always appreciated how Darth Sidious took Jedi Masters Kolar and Tinn with a single blow, and Jedi Master Fisto after 3 or 4.
I *especially* like that Jedi Master Fisto in this version is taken out with a *single* blow.
In martial arts, most duels between masters take less than 10 seconds. If it goes over 10 seconds, then they are rivals in skill. Yes, Jedi have precognition that would allow the less skilled combatant an extra parry or two. But most lightsaber duels should be *strike, parry, strike, DONE.*
When Darth Vader slaughtered Jedi at the Temple, I expect it looked something like his scene on Mustafar with the Separatist Council. I fully expect _Revenge of the Sith_ Darth Vader to one-shot all non-Council Jedi Masters, and half of the members of the Council. Jedi Masters Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, and maybe Ki-Adi Mundi could last a few strikes against Vader, then *slash, DEAD.*
And if that’s what I expect out of Vader, I expect that doubly from Darth Sidious.
Darth Vader was more powerful than any other force user. Including sidious. That was stated in the first movie when they measured his mitochondria & found he was off the scale in force strength

@@kellenat0r346 I personally like this way better, but I get what you mean and don't disagree at all. Kit was definitely not a "red shirt" (I seriously couldn't find a more fitting term, believe me I tried :P), but it's very hard to work multiple levels of skill into a fight on screen, so I prefer it when there's a very clear distinction between the masters and the "others" tbh ^^
I guess that's one of the faults of a visual medium though, in writing this scene worked a thousand times better :)
Always thought the movie should have been longer. Many scenes including this one should have been longer. Jedi Masters should have put up more of a fight IMO.
The movies don't depict how truly powerful and fast Jedi and Sith were. Only in the books you have to read to get the idea.
This is much better then the part of the original where he comes to a full stop and does that super slow stab
Good that you skipped all this "please don't, I'm too weak"
1:42 Anakin really said "Can't let you do that Star Fox."
What a simple thing but for the first time that scene makes sense to me.
I always found it funny how anakin ran his ass to get here...then second he enters room he slowed down so he can look cool and composed?
The Sidious/Windu fight wasn't what it could have been because on the day of filming, without telling anyone, Lucas decided he wanted Ian to do many of the scenes instead of a stuntman doing it all. Ian had had no training whatsoever for the scene unlike Sam Jackson who had done a few days of training. So, Nic Gilard and Ian had about three hours while the set up shots to practice. That said, Ian doesn't do too bad of a job.
The novelization says Kit Fisto stays in the fight for like half the battle only losing when getting distracted by Anakins growing presence
So this video is amazingly well done, the reason why the fight scene was slow, cause Ian the guy who played palpatine, was either never on time, and he forgot how to do the fight scene, so when they got it, he was not able ot battle fast, so then they add the scream, and what the scream does is that it puts fear into the jedi's hearts, and minds, so they see their fear, and he was able to kill them easily, but because Windu doesn't have a heart, and apparently has 2 brains one in his head, and one in his chest, he was able to be smart enough, and was able to counter attck that scream
cool video, and awesome editing!
Thanks ;)
WAY BETTER! They should've done it that way in the movie too!
Your sort of correct, he killed Kolar and Tiin immediately, however Kit Fisto lasted far longer, only dying just before Anakin shows up, mean he lasted far longer than in the rubbish duel that we got
We really need a full no cut RoTS, so many amazing moment got cut there
This scene was like one of those games where the designers slow down the animations so you can see how cool they are...
...and end up making it actually LESS visually impressive as a result.
Windu's RIP :'-(
I love Palpatine's goofy facial expressions! Make me laugh every time!
Good job! The only thing I would have changed is that we don’t see Palpatine’s face become all deformed.
Oh yes he got these lines on his face by accident in 1 minute
They both were moving so fast that they seemed like blurs.
They were said to be moving so fast that from an outside perspective, they were fading in and out of sight
Considering how cool Yoda vs Palp was, they really dropped the ball with this one
No "Its treason then" was good because it shows how little Sidious took them seriously and also how maniacal Sidious was. He was saying you are going to disobey you're emperor by saying little words like "then its treason then". He also was saying that its all his already.
When I saw the title saying that it was "fixed" I expected Master Windom to win!
Still have the bit where Anakin comes rushing in... and then slows to a moderate power walk because he ran out of track. XD
The "you will die then" was so great
@@Directed2212 I agree!

Ok now i can see the 3 respected masters getting caught off guard as fast and long as they did 😂
Honestly that looks pretty awesome.
Thanks! :)
Well Anakin did say in the revenge of the novelisation that Palpatine & Windu fighting was like a blur so yeah 🤣🔥
Honestly had we watched THIS edit in the original film, kids and adults would have literally SHIT themselves when Palps took down 3 Master Jedi that quickly.
In the novel, Palpatine, as the insidious Darth Sidious he is, turns on his lightsaber at the same time as the Jedi turn their on, but he keeps it hidden under his desk so the Jedi don't know he is armed and ready to kill. He then pretends to not know what the Jedi are accusing him to be, acting scared all the while an audio recorder is recording the conversation, which he will make the Senate listen to as a "proof" of the "Jedi Rebellion". The moment the first two Jedi hesitate a bit out of uncertainty, Palpatine jumps and kills them before they can regain their composure. Palpatine destroys the recorder so he can stop pretending and fights Mace and Kit. Kit is killed soon after, with Anakin seeing it from afar (red, purple and green lights flashing with the green light disappearing, leaving only red and purple) as he is rushing with his speeder to Palpatine's place.
"It's treason, then" is much more striking
The best theory I could come up with is that Palpatine was actually able to use the Force to slow down time and thus slow the other Jedi’s reactions and reflexes. Again, that doesn’t make this scene less flawed, but to me personally, if you try to think of it that way, it kinda helps to make this scene slide.
Is it possible he was just using a slower, more powerful form to fight Mace?
I know he pretty much fights at the _this_ pace when he duels Yoda in the end.
Mace was at an advantage here compared to Yoda. Vaapad was the perfect form against Sidious which is why Mace is the only person that actually beat Mace in 1v1, while Yoda couldnt
This fight is so ridiculous…
Um.. where is the “if you only knew... how long I have waited for this” moment after Sidious stabbed his desk
The book did such a better job with this scene in particular... but also the Yoda scene. The fact that people are making Palpatine out to be some weakling is how I know Star Wars is dead. Many still think Yoda would have won if he stayed...
I like to think his spin and snarl caused the JEDI MASTERS to be dazed
Overall a light saber duel ending in one or two moves is way more plausible than a drawn one. Even historically with swords one on one duels would only last 4 or 5 moves or clashes before a lethal or incapacitating blow was dealt. This would be compounded with a light saber which requires no edge alignment and can cut with ridiculous ease.
I love how even the part where he threw the fight was edited for no reason lmfao
Lol
Well the problem with the original is that Ian Mcdiarmid had never touched a sword in his life and this fight scene was the first fight scene he ever had
Was the concept of stunt double foreign in Hollywood in 2003? Strange decisions Locus had made
10/10, how it should have been. Good work
They did not want to use high speed cameras, so they asked the actors to play it slower, especially do the Sheev spin at slo mo.
This Looks Fuck8ng Amazing 👏
Don't you always find that in movies (not just Star Wars) that somebody which could include a main or side character will always come when a fight or squabble is occurring or about to occur. They made sure to show us Anakin arriving on time as there always has to be that last person to walk in and save the day well, for the person who is in the inferior position at least in this situation.......
Originally they were going to use a young actor for the fight, and digitally replace his face, but George Lucas thought it would be fun to have the most powerful Sith in history's movements performed by a 60-year-old man. What a missed opportunity to see a super epic fight!
This duel is much better. Now imagine a a company doing it
Imagine how awesome this fight could be with SWTOR animation. Instead, it's almost as underwhelming as Obi-Wan vs. Grievous.
Props too mace for keeping up with palpatine for the next few minutes tho, even if palpatine was going easy or whatever that’s still a good feat
This fight is my only complaint with episode III Good job on this
I swear too god the story in the original six movies is one of the greatest story’s ever told. The way it was executed (movies 1, 2 and 3) and what it has become (movies 7, 8, and 9) will always hurt my soul. I love Star Wars deeply. And at this point I love it so much I constantly think about how it could be better. You ever seen hunter x hunter? Imagine Star Wars but with the planning, detail, and continuity of hunter x hunter. STAR WARS WOULD BE GOD TEIR.
7 8 and 9 aren't considered canon by the majority of the fanbase anymore.
Rogue one gets a pass because it was good, but the rest of the disney star wars is just elseworlds stuff.
A lot of peope thought anakin was done poorly and betrayed darth vader's cool and collected behavior, but i thought they did a decent job showing his downfall if you also watch the tv show. he didn't start out that way, he WAS a good person who loved people and always tried to do the right thing, but then he fell from grace in part to his own arrogance and selfishness and in part to absolutely unfair treatment by the jedi order, people he thought he could trust, and palpatine's manipulation
Palpatine used force scream to disoriented them and force speed and force speed just doesnt increase your speed it slows down time.....kit never dueled against a dark side user so that was his flaw you could clearly see palpatine going so fast that when kit was going for that spin fatal blow they literally cut the scene right when fisto was about to slice palpatine then the cameras go to palpatine but still seeing that fisto going for that strike but palpatine was quick enough to react to it kit actually lasting a couple more seconds made sense due to his defensive skills that we saw when he encountered grevious at that time the jedi havent seen a sith for more than a thousand years before maul so the jedi didnt really care to up their dueling skills due to that sooo this scene makes sense you also cant say its lazy writing because it was in the novel of revenge of sith and that came out b4 the movie i just wish it was a little bit longer with mace and palpatine dueling since the Choreography was on pointtt tf
I never even seeped it was a force scream damn nice
Perfect. Much better.
Palpatine’s actual speed is terrifying
I mean they literally fought at the speed of sound, so you literally wouldnt be able to see anything except for blurs of light.
Nooooo, you cut the best part, when palps scream "PAWAAAA"
Oh yeah... It was unlimited as well :'(
Shows how powerful Windu and his unique form of Vaapad truly was I am not entirely sure but I do think only a few members of the council even knew of this form
Yoda
Windu
Obi’Wan and maybe a few others
It was so rarely used by Windu because he created solely for this purpose
To defeat a Sith Lord with his own arrogance and anger
But because it invited the use of the darkside and it’s properties
I think it’s even stated in the novelization of the animated movie that when Windu initially came across grievous he tried to implement Vaapad against him but to his shock and terror he began to learn and alter his fighting style to incorporate it himself
Windu immediately stopped using this form and fell back on the force the thought of another duelist simply learning his form by fighting him terrified him so he never used it again until this fight
Palpatines original plan was to keep Mace alive long enough to force Anakin to choose to kill him but he didn’t know of Maces Vaapad form and it threw him off balance and made him underestimate Mace which led to his defeat by Mace But Anakin still arrived and Palpatine managed to pull him over just enough to survive and kill Windu
In the novelization Anakin remarks it literally looks like nothing but a purple and red streak flowing seamlessly from one end of the room to the other clashing against each other….
It's surprising Disney didn't give the four Jedi Masters rainbow colored lightsabers yet.
