This play is harder in limit cash games, but you can pull it off against certain players. The player in question is prone to negative thinking and/or has a very specific image of you as playing nothing but the nuts. Of course, it helps if you’ve already put the hurt on him a couple times during the session. His dismay at your continued presence may manifest itself in a comment or despondent body language. If you do get caught, consider it advertising. Let the other players reconstruct your table image as you shift gears and back off your thievery for a while. But steal you must from time to time.

Help! So I play low stakes with 3 friends every week. Everyone starts with $100 worth of chips and it's no limit. We sit in the same spots every week. There is no blinds, we ante $1.
The guy in front of me tends to bluff a fair amount. The two behind are massive calling stations. This sounds like a great position to be in, but I've been losing my ass.
I am normally pretty tight and wait for hands. My question is, should I be raising a lot more preflop to steel the ante or continue to wait for cards?

I get the strategy but bet sizing has a lot to do with whether I make a bluff with hands like this. The real key is being able to identify exactly what kind of player you are up against. That takes time and observation. You have to set up an opponent to make a move like this.

Good, even if very particular strategy. Also helps a lot if those goofy straights get there in river! Lot of weak players fold the top pair without top kicker.
