When I was a kid, my parents just raved about Danny Kaye. After all, he was born in Brooklyn, too! Then, in 1959, I saw this movie. Everyone knew who Satchmo was. But, the two of them on the same stage, well, it blew my mind. I've never forgotten that and was much excited to find it here. Thank you VERY much.
I have seen The Five Pennies a few times on TV. It really never gets old. Just wish the wholesomeness of that era (50's and 60's) was still with us. We have to rely on our memories for those moments. At least, it keeps things alive.
