A pattern I’ve noticed is that most of the artifacts that talk about someone fighting during the cataclysm mention that they become the very monsters they were fighting. It’s a strange but intriguing theme
I think that could be a parallel for our sibling (although they fought against the abyss, they eventually joined and became the prince/princess) but I'm probably wrong
“He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.” - Friedrich Nietzsche; Beyond Good and Evil (1886)
But didn't the Bloodstained Knight pledge himself to the Abyss? If that's the case, why would he join the Fatui and become a Harbinger considering that they are enemies?

One thing I actually noticed is that the flowers slowly become less like real organic flowers and slowly become artificial and fake flowers, kind of like how the lore of the artifacts become more darker with every artifact set
Its a little strange that the artifacts that mention the story of Scaramouche didn't change after he changed everyones memories. When Nahida "erased" Rukkhadevata all the things that involved her changed, but nothing for Scaramouche changed..... I doubt thats an oversight. I feel this really tries to say something about what meddling with Irminstsul does. I doubt it can really change what happened, just change the memories and perception of it.
Maybe it's because it talks specifically about Scaramouche? So if *everything* about him were to be erased, this artifact set would disappear which might be impossible for Irminsul to do because there is no substitute lore to put into the artifacts?
The effect Scaramouche had on the world wasn't so big because he was trying to erase himself. Rukkhedevata was erased by someone else, so how the world altered was on a much grander scale. And Nicole did confirm in the end of that Archon quest that while the reasoning for why an event occured is changed, the event did still occur.
I think we'd need to actually know how the artifact lore exists in-universe to understand that. Like, does the traveller receive a receipt with all this written on it every time they farm a domain? Either way I guess we can conclude that the Irminsuk considers all this prose to be fiction in the same way that the story about Wanderer's history was hidden from Irminsul's edits by Nahida in the form of a storybook, but whether or not regular people can even access these stories is still really unclear...
@pipedream2556 nahida was so incredibly crafty. She is the archon of wisdom, but like, the fact she could figure all that stuff out and ready it just amazes me.
Artifact lore is maybe a folklore, and as mentioned before, an event might have it's reasoning for why it occured changed, or better, whom caused it, but not the event itself. The whole prophecy about Fontaine showed that, since no matter what the Player, Furina or the Fontainians did, the prophecy would happen, but it would just have another cause for happening. Makoto's Dream Sakura shows time isn't linear on Teyvat, so maybe Fate is when an event is fixed and set to happen like the Flooding or Khaenri'ah's fall( which is maybe why the Abyss order's plan is the Loom of Fate), but the cause of it can be anything. So despite Scaramouche erasing himself as a "cause" for events, what he did still happened, and still became the lore of the Husk of Opulent Dreams, and folklore isn't altered by Irminsul, just the information of a person on the chain of cause and effects. Just like Rukkhadevata still saved the desert citizens from Deshret's Forbidden Knowledge, but the "cause" of these events are now attributed to Nahida, despite her not even existing at the time. Remember, time isn't linear, so it's perfectly possible for Nahida to be the cause of something that happened before her being even alive.

at 14:10 dottore mentions his wish to grant humans elements without needing visions. when we consider rene’s opinion on the subject, it seems as though visions tie allogenes to fate and dottore, another scholar, specifically wanted a way around this. doesn’t this sound like the EXACT origin for how delusions came about? a way to grant the elements without tying oneself to the fate of teyvat? and it was such a revolutionary idea that delusions could create the largest military in teyvat? i think it totally makes sense imo
i noticed how some region related lore was released in the form of artifacts description before the region itself is available for us. perhaps we can have a taste of Natlan's lore when new artifacts for Fontaine region is released 👀
I will eventually get into the Artifact lore but I have a problem at the moment where when the lore is sheer text walls like that, I end up distracted by the mathematics I need in order to make my things work with the artifacts and weapons I currently have available.
