My 125 planted FF tank has had two yo-yo loaches since day one, they keep snail populations in check. The tank has 5 or 6 separate species of snails including bladder snails and Malaysian trumpet snails. When the lights go out; the loaches know it's time to feast.
It depends. You could just dilute it down with partial water changes, leave it if your ph is buffering the tannins, remove the driftwood and boil it. It all depends. I usually let it go and it will clear on it's own with some water exchanges. If you have water low in carbonates keep an eye for ph drop which can cause shock to your system.
Brother, directionally I can see your thinking, but be careful. You can question the character of our political class, but most scientists are not in it for the money. They are saying the planet and natural systems are not able to manage the changes we bring, esp when we pave the forests. Mathew 18 deals w how we challenge personal sin, generally privately. I apply this idea to my public speech about other peoples character, I try not categorically input evil intent on groups like doctors, scientists or teachers.
@@FatherFish Sure, I didn't go for detail. But are you saying there isn't an impact, esp on available farm land - often close to the coast? The details aren't the focus of politicians, but the actual problems and dynamics, are buried in the science. My read of the data is we are having an impact, and biosphere isn't keeping up. How much,is the thing for me? I share much of your skepticism, esp with the solutions that (I agree) are pushed. I don't throw ALL my fellow scientists down just because someone else uses a soundbite from their life's work for their own glory.
Thank you for your advice on setting up my tank father fish it will help me a lot.

I understand. Claiming we are paving the forest ignores the reality that we actually inhabit less than 5% of the earth.
