I feel Bernice and her family's heartache and pain. In 2021, my eldest brother passed away from cancer. I concur with Rev. King. "Our men shouldn't be afraid to take care of their health. Black brothers are a treasure. It's NOT macho to not do that. Sisters, let's push our brothers gently. These cancers are ferocious!! The things that are within our control, don't ignore that." It's important that our brother start to take care of themselves. Don't wait until something is WRONG." Ultimately, she spoke sound WISDOM.

Lost my youngest sister to cancer last month. I've watched her suffer to the end. I felt so helpless. From one chemo treatment to another, all failed. Saw her just fade away as pain consumed her frail frame. She turned 43 on 12/1 and passed on 12/10. I feel their grief. Sending hugs. This is a tough road ahead but together you'll all be each other's strength.

For me my stage 3 cancer was not the problem personally however I felt like I was battling the chemotherapy which saved my life.
Cancer took two of my brothers and one sister. He was such a good looking man and had such a good speaking voice like his dad and to me he looked so much like your dad. Rest In Peace Dexter. My husband had it but opt for laser surgery to remove the entire prostate. No chemo,no radiation,no wait and watch. That was 13yrs ago. He's still healthy. Keep fighting!!

Our sincere condolences to the King family. Dexter was one of the first people that I met when I moved to Atlanta in 1985. He was at a party that I attended and spoke very candidly with me about Colorado, where I had just transitioned to Atlanta from. Very humble young man, great conversation, with his pipe and all... and also very pleasant to look at. Continuous prayers for his wife Leah and the entire King family!
