Could be because I'm only rank 8, but typically whenever I encounter deoxys using this team I find that if I immediately switch into shiftry my opponent doesn't switch out, but if I do 4 air slashes, then switch out, I can either catch a rock slide and cause a switch, or build up some energy, catch a thunderbolt, then cause a switch. This works especially well if they switch in registeel, not just because of how well shiftry does against registeel but because deoxys will typically come back in when it can to finish off shiftry, and it almost always has low energy. Which in turn lets you either fire off a move on shiftry, bring skarmory in to fire off A sky attack, build up energy then switch meganium into deoxys' next attack, OR the same thing but without a charge move from shiftry (depending on how the registeel fight went).
Another thing I do now is farm with A-chu 2 Tpunch whenever I run into skarmory so I can get the 1 shield and they never shield the half health skarmory so I have enough energy for a second Tpunch or only 1 volt switch away from psychic and dependending on what they throw I can either get a shield down or do massive damage with psychic
Using this comp is incredibly fun but people now start switching out the Altaria against Skarmory, sac swap the mudboy to keep the Registeel alive or start bringing the medicham or a charmer in the back to cover shiftry (which Skarmory can handle pretty well and stll win the match with Meganium+shields), medicham is particularly annoying with PuP. I saw also Regi+Bastiodon in the same line, like fighting type doesn't exist in the game LOL
I like this team and strategy a lot! Genius!! THE problem is that it becomes easy for players to predict. My suggestion is to consider substitute for one of the 3 pokemon. In my view, Shiftry cannot be substituted due to its coverage and high DPE leaf blade. Meganium could possibly be replaced, but I don't think any other grass type pokemon can do. I suggest an electric type with good bulk, such as stunfisk (can possibly handle azumarill). The best maybe is to change Skamory into another steel type to handle flyers and charmers. May consider jirachi (could handle fighting type), or Hypno with thunder punch as a much cheaper choice.
@@CalebPeng Interesting! I found Skamory is better to handle grass, fairy and umbreon. You original team is the best! But now I do see many players double shield their flyers, when they see shiftry does the safe switch.
played a FF mawile today with this team. I just had to quit XD I will say that this team has been very successful for me, even before the 2nd vid. This is why you're one of the goats!
The thing is that this team isn’t really viable at ranks below 7, because a lot of people tend to play less meta fire Pokémon that counters this line-up hard
part of the problem with this strategy is that it's getting more popular so it's easier to predict. Whenever I see a skarmory lead I wait for grass types to stab me
At 4:18 I was pretty surprised they didnt fire a single frenzy plant with Meganium when you were able to go for 3 charge attacks (maybe they had razor leaf?) GGs man great choice to go deeper into this lineup but the team is spreading fast! Maybe next vid how to beat double grass 😄
It is but i think that compromises your team against fighting types. I could see a lucario running through the melmetal and shiftry. So the skarmory flying type gives a decent fighting coverage.
Meraadj Thank you! And great question! I’d count to 5 fire spins (enough for Shadow Ball) and then quickly switch to shiftry to try and catch it. If they have a flyer or fighter, they likely will bring it out at this point and then you can finish that mon off with Skarmory. Burning shields will be important so that you can set up an EQ from Meganium later. If they really are running Alolan Marowak and a flyer, it’s definitely a very hard team composition to go against but this will likely be your best bet of winning it.
I think it's funny no one runs psychic on A-chu but I do and so many venusaur expect any other charge move and they give me the free kill, same thing victreebel if I have energy lead
@@CalebPeng I got grass lead for that and as soon as they see the grass most go for the skarmory and bam free kill with A-chu and possibly a shield before it goes down even better if I land a psychic on something neutral but I'm at rank 8 so people play a bit differently I assume I'll switch it up for rank 9
Also, fought someone tonight using this same team but with deoxys instead of skarmory. I'm not sure how well it works against other teams but against this one it doesn't work well at all. You're better off just running a flyer anti-flyer.
Yo ! Really nice team. I use mew shadowclaw/grass knot and superpower instead of meganium, do you think it can do the job ? I strugle a lot right now (I’m not use to play skarmo)
Like the thousands of others who watched your initial video about this team, I’ve been absolutely loving this team! Quick question for you: while it’s exceedingly rare, I have run into several Charizards in the lead. How do you approach that situation?

I'd recommend subbing out Probopass for Meganium and lead with Lanturn, swapping in alolan marowak if it's a losing matchup. You'll want to protect Meganium from their flyer
@@CalebPeng okay ill power up one with a moderate attack Im currently using your double grass strat and leading with a hypno with ice punch thunder and its doing its job pretty well

Actually it's not difficult to counter your team, one just need to wait for your switching to shiftry, and then immediately bring out any charmers to destroy your shiftry.
withcarename every team is easy to counter, 1 if you know the lineup, 2 if you bring the proper counters to it... If you don't have charmers, double flyers, fire type attacks, and you don't know 1 and 2, you will most likely lose.

They're listed in my previous video, but Skarmory sky attack, Shiftry snarl, Meganium vine whip.
ive run into this time like 4 times but I beat it with registeel, wigglytuff and charizard
