There are so many beliefs in Christianity; there are sooo many Bibles and interpretations of their book, it is so confusing. Even the Bible itself, has many contradictions. I grew up as Christian… and I said the Shahada this year 💕

As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. Therefor in Islam there are principles/rules and limits when it comes to Text and interpretation. A clear and explicit text is taken as it is, in it's direct meaning. Text of which they testify it is the Word of God.
Imagine going to give your SATs and you don't answer anything, but you tell your examiner that you *KNEW* so they must give you the marks. And on the other hand imagine going to sit for an exam and you know absolutely nothing. That's clear contradiction from my first point. There's a big difference in knowing and not telling and not knowing. To put it in simple terms, one of them is saying that Jesus forgot at that time (hence when a memory is veiled its a description of forgetting) which doesn't make sense because God the Almighty never forgets, the other missionary is saying that Jesus did not forget rather he just didn't wanted to say it, which doesn't make sense when Jesus clearly says he doesn't know, but regardless both description are contradictory as you cannot "forget something" and "not forget something" at the same time, also forgetting something is completely different to having a physical veil, they are two different things which this missionary is trying to put together. Alhamdullilah to Islam that has taught us logic and hasn't put us through these nonsense that Christians always brings up.

@preeti chatrath Salam (peace), firstly crucifixion does not mean where a person is nailed to the cross (that was only during the time of the Romans even then it was not common at all), rather crucifixion is when a person is tied to something and left to die under the heat of the sun and starve, and this was popular through many centuries, and just because historians haven't found proof of crucifixion in the past does not mean it did not exist, plus this type of capital punishment was more likely to have existed way before 400 BC as some historians say, because it was the easiest and cheapest method of providing capital punishment in the most harshest way. Also the Bible says that crucifixion existed during the time of Moses and many prophets before Moses as well that all existed in the 600 BC, so if your Christian friend goes through this thought that if something was not found by historians than it is not true, then they have also disproved the Bible as well. Another counter argument is that we have no Bible in the first or second century, except the oldest full Bible from the fourth century, now does that mean that the Bible never existed in the first, second or third century? The clear answer is no, just because historians couldn't find it does not mean it never existed in those centuries as evidences can get lost or not recorded, but we do know that the Bible has been changed and corrupted when comparing modern Bible to the oldest 4th century Bible, and the Bible is written by anonymous authors many years after Jesus and in a language that Jesus never spoke in, so technically we cannot be sure if these Gospel authors have actually written the teachings of Jesus or have they corrupted the original religion that created a new religion that we call Christianity now. Hope this helped with answering that question.

Very good debate. At least first time we see two christian preachers who maintained their calm and tried to continue discussion by giving examples and logic instead of fighting and yelling. Most of them who come to debate show their anger and arrogance and leave the disvussion without listening others.
As a 14 year old Christian planning to revert. The Bible is not to be always interpreted literally because it also has some symbolisms and analogies.

Two christians with 2 different 'opinions', it was just sad to watch......
To put it in simple terms, one of them is saying that Jesus forgot at that time (hence when a memory is veiled its a description of forgetting) which doesn't make sense because God the Almighty never forgets, the other missionary is saying that Jesus did not forget rather he just didn't wanted to say it, which doesn't make sense when Jesus clearly says he doesn't know, but regardless both description are contradictory as you cannot "forget something" and "not forget something" at the same time, also forgetting something is completely different to having a physical veil, they are two different things which this missionary is trying to put together. Alhamdullilah to Islam that has taught us logic and hasn't put us through these nonsense that Christians always brings up.

At the end of the day we give dawah to the best of our ability for the sake of Allah the Almighty and the rest is left for Allah the Almighty.

Also the Bible says that crucifixion existed during the time of Moses and many prophets before Moses as well that all existed in the 600 BC, so if your Christian friend goes through this thought that if something was not found by historians than it is not true, then they have also disproved the Bible as well. Another counter argument is that we have no Bible in the first or second century, except the oldest full Bible from the fourth century, now does that mean that the Bible never existed in the first, second or third century? The clear answer is no, just because historians couldn't find it does not mean it never existed in those centuries as evidences can get lost or not recorded, but we do know that the Bible has been changed and corrupted when comparing modern Bible to the oldest 4th century Bible, and the Bible is written by anonymous authors many years after Jesus and in a language that Jesus never spoke in, so technically we cannot be sure if these Gospel authors have actually written the teachings of Jesus or have they corrupted the original religion that created a new religion that we call Christianity now. Hope this helped with answering that question.
