I went and picked up this Makita saw. I love it. I took it under a house with me today and had so much fun cutting with it, the fellas thought I had gone nuts. Its handy AF
I purchased this when i first saw it and it is a BEAST!!! I have the subcompact impact and drill set as well and it made me switch to Makita 100%.. Just got the 36v rear handle skilsaw yesterday and it feels like christmas morning.. Home depot forgot to remove the sale for the $100 discount and 2 free 5ah batteries, and i haggled my way out of the store with the double charger, 4 5ah batteries, and that insanely nice saw for $249.99.. Loving life right now!
Yeah it was at home depot and they had 2 different sales. One was 100 off the saw. One was buy a kit and get 2 free additional batteries. One sale ended, then the other started but the signs for both sales were still on the shelf. A friend of mine went to try for the same deal and didnt see the $100 off anywhere. Today i shall go and see if they still have the 20a dewalt drywall gun with free router. Was there a week ago
Got one of these and it works great. Can handle with one hand easily, has all the power you need to cut what you want. It also can go a long time on one battery. Very happy with the purchase.
I was going back and forth on which battery platform to commit to... The other day I needed to do a serious trimming job in my folks' front yard. I popped on this bad boy and committed to Makita. IT WAS AWESOME. This little saw decimated a yard of overgrown bushes, trees, and shrubs. I ran that thing on a few consecutive Sundays, after church, of course to get the yard done. Great choice on this one.
9 month update. I STILL love this thing. I bought a home in the spring and used this to clean up the back yard. I had a tree come down at church, This thing CARVED up a MASSIVE PILE of branches from that tree. I wish I had a before and after photo. Hands down, this is a great tool.
I own one and use it with a 4 or 5Ah battery. I wasn't overly thrilled with it on the first use, but after using it consistently for a month I grab it over my corded saws every time. It works pretty well and is very handy to use vs a corded saw. It chews through wood and nails relatively quickly.
I’m on the m18 platform but that subcompact looks sick, wish Milwaukee had one just like that one and circular saw like the subcompact. Those subcompact tools looks really nice
I got this tool for $80 I think on OfferUp. Good tool for keeping in the truck, fits real nicely. Put a 6" pruning blade on it. Cuts well enough that I barely need to pull out my 36v Makita reciprocal saw. This is a nice product for the everyday work and nice to have a really strong tool on hand for the bigger jobs. Btw, my name is Vince too.
Just picked this up and pulled a 10x20 garden bed of rebarred pressure treated 6x6s. Handled it like a champ and being able to one hand it let me keep one free for the crow bar
I've had it more than 1 year. it's awesome between floor joist. It also loves to cut copper pipe. My corded recip. saw sets in the box most times now, this is too handy. Mine says Makita refurbished tool on it. Works perfectly
I own it and it suits me, had to use it to go through the back half of some 4" old rusty iron pipe stuck in a corner of a room. With the right blade it performed like a champ through 4 cuts in a row. Slower than a corded but I wasn't pulling my hair out.
I've had this saw since November and it's good for one handed and overhead work, however I don't use it very often because I do commercial electrical and I'd rather put wear on my beater brushed recip than a subcompact.
It's a difficult one. I have Milwaukee 18 volt sawzall reciprocating saw in the Makita 12 volt reciprocating saw. Love them both. The safety is going out on my Milwaukee I've had it for probably 12 years and I've gotten every dollar out of it. But I have a lot of good 18 volt batteries. And I have a lot of good Makita batteries also some kind of stuck do I get the black compact that's in the video or do I buy another milwaukee. I like the way it's not the traditional like this one but it's kind of like a hacksaw situation. What are your thoughts?
I got one of those. Have not had a chance to really use it. From the limited use I have had I love the compact size and the power. My only thing I noticed when you smash the trigger as fast as you can there is a millisecond delay. It also accept regular size blades as well
I'm loving my new Milwaukee drill driver for its size and power but it's quality is nowhere near my old Makita stuff . I have a mix of DeWalt and millwaukiee cordless , what I liked best of both lines I bought. Millwaukiee s 12v abrasive cutting tool ,which I use for alot of odd tasks on the job got me into that 12v line of tools. Dewalts 20 volt orbital tool is very ergonomic and has a variable speed trigger and s really nice depth guide was enough to invest in another brand than millwaukiee . I use the little millwaukiee tool to cut new teeth in the dewalts worn down ocilating blades 👀🤭 Amazeing little cutter grinder 👍⚒️
Not good for everyday use I cut aluminum rail and conduit everyday I'm on my second subcompact and my 36v reciprocating saw just burnt up after about a year. I try to only use the sub compact when I have to or on non metals if possible.
My budday at work has the subcompact set and they are not all that great good for small jobs but if you are using them all day at medium or heavy use they will not cut it.
I think is good but I have the modal before it and its greate it might not be compact like the new one but with this one I can get it into tire places better then the compact one and I have more reach then the compact one...
Actually… the first channel I’ve ever been to where they say “And you can watch that here” and point in an obscure direction and NOT have a link to all 4 of the links he mentioned… what the heck brother
All things considered, how would you compare it to the Milwaukee Hackzall? I'm due for an upgraded set of power tools for work and home (been rocking the old black craftsman 19.2v stuff...been surprisingly good to me but its getting long in the tooth and is no longer sold/supported so I'm likely SOL when my batteries give up). I'm sorta torn between Makita or Milwaukee.
Exactly what I thought. He was the one reviewing it but wants to know what we think about it as if we were the ones reviewing. What in the bassassackwards kind of crap was that.
Makita and Hilti Are on their own nobody owns them? That is huge. All the other companies I cannot say the same. Makita and Hilti will cell parts. To all these other companies, but they will not sell the same Quality Parts that they put in their tools. When you start up a brand new Makita tool to three years later, it will still feel the same. I can't say the same about the other ones.
what a bunch of clickbait, no content hooey! I want to know how it performs! Heck with this. I'm goin over to uncle bumblefu*k's house. That guy knows how to work a tool.
I don't get it, you "reviewed" the product with a blade chucked up standing behind a mine field of wood, pipe, nails and stuff to test it on and didn't cut anything? WTH??
VCG Construction seriously, I really enjoy your content, and I am very picky about commenting and liking vids. You have my subscription! Keep em coming!
VCG Construction glad to be a part of it. Thanks to you I just picked up the Lowe’s Kobalt 24v battery 2 pack with a free tool, I chose the angle grinder to go with it! Thanks for the heads up!

Makita has been running a 4 battery promotion
Ian Powell where?
@@ciceromobster online retailers. Last I saw it was on outdoor 36V tools

I actually really like the Makita Subcompact tools. That saw is a little BEAST!
It doesn’t cut like a full size recip saw but it is more wieldy on a ladder. I’ve had one for two years as an electrician and love it
Finally this is what I’ve been waiting for!!!
7:00 Had this tool for years used thousands of times and never knew this 🤯
Thank you for the video ... I picked it up thru Amazon at 108.00 I love it and the price point.
They had that blade lock feature for 10 years at least, got a 10-12 y/o Makita with it and it spit blades out when used hard,
I’m on the m18 platform but that subcompact looks sick, wish Milwaukee had one just like that one and circular saw like the subcompact. Those subcompact tools looks really nice
They're great especially when having to be in a atic.

Would this be a good saw for cutting drywall ? I do water damage demo so for example 2 1/2 foot drywall cuts how efficient would this be ?
Ive had my eye on that for awhile! Already on the platform might have to pull the trigger!
Sick Duck! 😁🍻
I bought the XRJ05Z saw and like it a lot.
Can you put regular size blades in it?
I love the size. I'm definitely looking forward to the TTR
I know it’s an older tool now but I just picked one up at HD for $169 with a free 4amp battery and charger.
I own both the black its bigger brother. I find myself using the black more often. It saved my life cutting the screws in my toilet.
Do you still love it ? Can I use my bigger 5.0 and 6.0. Batteries ?
I own it and it suits me, had to use it to go through the back half of some 4" old rusty iron pipe stuck in a corner of a room. With the right blade it performed like a champ through 4 cuts in a row. Slower than a corded but I wasn't pulling my hair out.

Yo I got the dewalt 12v xtreme one handed reciprocating saw yesterday. I like the power of the little saw!
Why didn't you cut something with it. And where are those link videos you kept pointing at
I wish my sub 12" tool looked that good wrapped in rubber
I got one of those. Have not had a chance to really use it. From the limited use I have had I love the compact size and the power. My only thing I noticed when you smash the trigger as fast as you can there is a millisecond delay. It also accept regular size blades as well
Can you guys review some brushless cordless grinders?
Love it, used it in many applications. Better than most
I'm loving my new Milwaukee drill driver for its size and power but it's quality is nowhere near my old Makita stuff .

Cool video, and I’m pretty sure that the regular makers reciprocating saw has that blade click feature
Would love to see it in TTR with the Milwaukee m18 hacksaw
Not good for everyday use I cut aluminum rail and conduit everyday I'm on my second subcompact and my 36v reciprocating saw just burnt up after about a year. I try to only use the sub compact when I have to or on non metals if possible.
Can you test the strongest impact socket adapter with impact drivers
My budday at work has the subcompact set and they are not all that great good for small jobs but if you are using them all day at medium or heavy use they will not cut it.
This ^ still the only one I own lol
can i cut 300mm copper lead
Is it comparable to the Milwaukee hakzall m18 are the stroke length simular
Im Excited about it👍👍👍
Love how you release the unboxing after you already did TTR with the tool cool concept of how you guys do the videos
Vince is the shoe adjustable
No sorry
It's ok was excited to buy it, not much to it though.

Good informative video
I own it. I love it. That is all.
Saw this video and got one. Shes functional and purty.. like if a recip saw was wearing the batsuit lol
i have 20 of y=these and they are great
so wheres the video of it actually cutting?
Yeah Vince you’re right that was the movie where the aliens were in a old folks home I believe.
Batteries not included
