Beautiful knife. Now that they are available again, I decided to pick one up, the carbon fiber. I’m a stickler for crisp, strong detents. I’m hoping it meets my expectations. I have the mini typhoon, Brian made in house, and I’ve been wanting the production version. I wish this was a little bigger, more of a three and a half inch blade. 3 and 3/8 is a good, useable length, and better than the micro typhoon, at least for my needs.
I had the apex , just couldn’t find it as a good utility cutter. I just don’t see how this mini tempest is any different. It’s a good looking knife though.
Nice improvement for the clip. I wish I did not purchase the Apex; form over function in that one. Too bad about not flicking the blade open with the Mini Evo fuller. I will pass on this model. I have the Micro Evo Typhoon (great 5th pocket knife), Apex and the Mini Tempest (my favorite). Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Lol, I think I sent them to you, you were far more composed during your video than I was with mine lmfao! But I've never handled anything from Brian before...
@@KnifeStandards lol I'd love to have one but I'd have to go like two years without buying any knives to be able to save up enough to buy one. That's obviously not gonna happen.
I really think he’s dropping the ball on the inlays I love my apexs but had to get aftermarket inlays to get them there. Some fat carbon here would really take it to the next level. Green micarta is ugly imo
Standards are definitely slipping... They have bitten off more then they can chew... I remember hearing they had to open a 2nd factory too, so it could be growing pains of dealing with both facilities and they get back on track one day, or it could just be they cannot keep up with the demand any longer.
Those are super nice. They look great!
Sharp by design exciting every time👍

Update?
Really wish you could middle finger flick. I have a micro Bowie, debating if I should get a mini
Thanks For The Looks 😎
thanks for watching peter
Are the acoustics like nail clippers when it shuts?
Reminds me of the kickstop. Love the knife but idk the acoustics I’m not a fan
Thanks for sharing! Do you know the best place to buy these? Can you buy them directly from SBD? I want to buy several as gifts.
I think he has them yes or he did

I definitely like the feel of the evos better

Brians stuff is always awesome, I need an archnemesis lol

Which blade shape and inlay material has the best action and acoustics?
I have a soft spot for carbon fiber and the harpoon is pretty epic but acoustic are the same
Me too. I can’t stand micarta. I am getting the harpoon tanto with carbon fiber inlays. Or do I wait for the fatcarbon…?
@@Adamas11 ooo I do like the weave but the fat carbon looks sickkkk lol
I may order the carbon fiber on Thursday. Then try for the fatcarbon when it becomes available and flip the carbon fiber 😂
That flipper tab is gigantic! Looks weird.
size matters ;)
I’m in the minority but I love that micarta
I like the smooth or polished micarta the rough stuff weirds me out haha
whats your current fav fragrances?
@@KnifeStandards That is tough. That’s like asking what’s your fav knife. Id say a top one would be by the fireplace by replica.
@@KnifeStandards I feel the exact same way.
@@ilovefragrances5968 awesome have you tried aaron terrence hughes fragrances? love them

Nebula and Purple Haze FC are right around the corner.
The past 6 months or so have shown that Reate "crushing" it definitely isn't the guarantee it once was!
this is true lol

Yeah I feel like they’re rushing production to try to keep up in the meantime bestech is closing in fast lol
