Thank you for the informative video. I have a 2023 Kona with the same 2.0 engine with approx. 7,000 miles on the odometer. A check engine light just appeared on the dashboard and it appears code P218100 is the culprit. Is there a concern for overheating because I cannot get a appointment for service until 2 weeks from now, and I'm worried to drive the car. I believe this is the same faulty part in my Kona. Thanks
I think it wont overheat, coz the default position when theres a fault will be open, so you will just have a less heat if you gonna use the heater or the engine wont go to operating temperature.
Can you do a video on how it adjust the Ebrake cable on 2019 Genesis G70 2.0 Sport Manual. I have seen vidoes were you can adjust the shoes on the rear rotors. Not sure if this method works for my vehicle. thank you!!
Mine is a 2023 Hyundai Elantra and I just got this code with the engine light on. The car is still relatively new since I got it in November of 2022. I’m really hoping that I don’t get charged for it because the car should still be under warranty
i have 2021 Hyundai over heating. When i activate fan with scanner low speed it does not operate. But when i activate high speed it comes on for maybe 6 seconds then shuts off. there is resister pack in between fan and fan harness. When i apply direct power and ground to fan, fan runs. but when i activate with scanner there is power at low and high speed at fan harness.ground is continus.i had one used resister pack laying around.i even tried that no luck. unless both resister are gone bad
I have a 22 Kona with 16k Miles. The ITM started Leaking. A few days after replacement, The Reservoir was Empty. Radiator was Low. Dealer topped up. Taking it back for the 2nd attempt. After the 3rd, I'm seeking Lemon Law. The Coolant keeps Disappearing. No puddles under the car. I had a 19 Kona 2.0, T Stat was Stuck Open with only 30k Miles.
If no leak and coolant disappearing, could be they did not bleed properly and when that air pocket escape the coolant replenish it or coolant is entering the combustion chamber.
@@hyundaitech I took it back. Shop Foreman added "About 1 Quart" on Mon. Thursday they couldn't find a leak. Today? The Level is Lower in the Reservoir. Took the Rad Cap off, Couple inches of air. Found an Empty Water Bottle in the Fan. This was before I started the engine this morning.
@@chrisphilhower6029 i think maybe you can give them an idea to test for combustion leak in the cooling system. Atleast to rule out any internal fault.
@@hyundaitech I am going down to where I Leased the Kona from on Tuesday. I have Pics. Hyundai Customer Service is a JOKE. I get a Rep who has an Accent that is hard to understand. The Report was all wrong. Wrong Car, Wrong Phone #, Mileage was Wrong as well. 16k, Not 64K.
@hyundaitech Thanks for responding, my 2022 elantra has 92,000mi and mine went out(not covered by warranty of course). The dealer wants $900 total. $300 in parts and $600 labor. Seemed excessive.
@hyundaitech Sounds like I should try another shop. They're claiming its 4hrs labor. If they were charging 2.5, I'd save $200 in labor costs. Luckily, with the thermostat stuck open I have the ability to shop around. Your input has been very helpful. Thank you so much!

My 2021 Elantra just had this exact same issue. The service center said they're seeing a lot of this.
Yeah with the new design of the cooling system we also see this issue is common but not all cars.
Just had this replaced under warranty on my 2021 also !
same issue, that's sick

Sure i will keep an eye if i will service same model that you are asking. Thanks

If still within the warranty kilometers under 100k km should be warranty.
Amazing video I replaced my thermostat and I still had the code. Where did you find the ITM part? I cannot find it
You have to ask the dealer, integrated thermal module
@@hyundaitech thank you so much! Seems like most are only for sale on eBay and rockauto is sold out sadly.
This car is only 1 year old at the time video was made. Is this covered under warranty?
Yeah, most of my videos since i work in a dealer almost all warranty work.
Does the thermostat housing need to be replaced when putting a new thermostat in these Hyundai models?
In this models thermostat is part of the housing.

What model is it? If you have power and ground going to component i think that means the component is not good.
Good job.👍🏻
Thanks for video can you please mention the part #
For elantra 25600-2j300
Hi, I have the same issue do you know how much they charge in the shop?
Your car should still be under warranty. If not depends on the door rate in the shop
So where would the thermostat be located ?
Inside the itm module

How serious is this issue until it can be resolved?
If you live in a colder area the heat coming out from the vents will not be consistent but should be fine until you get it repaired.
@@hyundaitech Thank you!
How many hours labor does dealer pay you for this?
Im not sure since its warranty maybe .5 hahahha

DAM!!.. What a complicated looking module.. Lots of plastic.. hopefully long term not an issue with this module...
Maybe next time i will try to open it up to see whats inside. Coz the service information is saying not to hold any magnetic device near it. Hahaha
