Well-planned presentation: great detail, cause and effect clearly explained. This is a complete course on cooling system diagnosis and troubleshooting. You are a true-blue guru, Sir, deserving RESPECT and much appreciation 👍 You gained a new follower and subscriber. Tons of thanks ☺
This is from Honda tech line training videos on the service carts. I always thought that was such an awesome system when I worked there as a tech. They paid us 1.00 hr per training module we took.
My radiator top broke so I had an aluminium top put on it now the radiator has no pressure and I can open it without steam coming out, could this be why my car can’t go on a long trip without just going off?
That was the best explanation I’ve ever had. Thanks. I have a question btw. I found the coolant reservoir on my new car cracked, but the crack was in the top in such a way that coolant wasn’t leaking at all. I don’t know since when the crack was there, assuming the crack was there since the purchase, is it safe for me covering 8000 kms till I found it? There was no overheating, fan functioning well and the radiator is full. Does the air get into the system? Please help. Thanks.
Under my reservoir you can see a steady drip of coolant when engine is on but it's not from the reservoir itself. A new radiator cap helped this issue but it hasn't fully went away. Every few days a bit of leaking still happens but it's manageable now
After riding around 2500 kms on my new motorcycle, I noticed my reservoir coolant level was just below (2mm) the low mark. But the radiator was full. Is it okay? Thanks in advance
Wait, so in 13:10 it said the difference between the inlet and outlet of radiator is only 15 degree?! How could it cool the engine from over 200 degree?
I had a 1969 green Renault 16 that I bought for like cheap money from pretty girl they were so funny because they used to always drive me crazy until I researched it cooler engine oh having an electric fan says about 7 or 8% on your energy consumption.
Nice explanation, i plan to restore my Father's Hijet 1000 (1983 year) into mint condition, should i replace the radiator instead ? Usually my father only used water from local well, Many Thanks =)
My car rediator is new and we'll my car water pump is fans are ok but him some time heatup if I make air by my mouth inside the rediator so him working so what this problem....
Wait, so in 13:10 it said the difference between the inlet and outlet of radiator is only 15 degree?! How could it cool the engine from over 200 degree?
Yeah it's part of the many IST videos they used. I use to work at Honda and was trained in Waston, Florida for 4 years finishing all my modules. These were very well done and detailed.
Hey sir i have pulsar 200ns which is a liquid cooled motorcycle and recently when engine becomes hot it starts leaking out some coolant from the hose of reservoir which is kept open to atmosphere is it normal? Note-1) cooling fan is working correctly and no engine overheating 2) this problem starts after replacing the reservoir tank.
My reservoir was leaking causing my car to overheate, so I unhooked the hose and plugged it. So far no overheating... any suggestions on what could go wrong???
maybe the hose ins't completely sealed when it's on the reservoir, and air is making its way into the system? And when you take it off and plug it, you are sealing it better than it would be on the reservoir? Maybe the hose is bad and replacing it would help ensure that the cooling system is sealed properly? If not the hose, maybe the reservoir itself has a bad seal and may need to be addressed? I wish you the best.
Coolant "Catch Can". Coolant 'Recovery Tank", Coolant "Surge Tank", Coolant "Overflow Tank", Coolant "Reservoir Tank". Now explain what a "surge" tank is! Good luck!
unfortunately the cooling system cost me more than 2000$ in last two weeks and the problem of overheating has not been resolved yet i feel very sad for that and I don't know what is the problem so far 2008 honda accord 🤒
@jayislander No,, but I replaced the engine and since that all was OK It seems like something was not working well but I couldn't find it till it resulted in engine failure After replacing the engine the milage beacame much better by around 60 mils per tank of fuel
It won't evaporate as the system is normally sealed with a cap, screw on cap or a release valve type cap if the reservoir is pressurized. There's an overflow tube at the neck of the expansion/ reservoir tank so it will just pour out onto the road. Which will get any animal that decides its sweet taste is too hard to resist. If it's an old car with no expansion/reservoir then it flows out the overflow tube at the radiator neck.
@@flightofthefatman 🆗️ then I will just be satisfied with the full line 😁 thx for the reply ...by the way , I filled my oil past F____ this far past full am I good
Complete diagnostic, repair and maintenance video. Excellent!
Nice video, it was all explained so clearly and the purposes of each component, and also how to fix the engine cooling system.
Best explanation on cooling systems yet.

Complete coolant care. I learned something. Bless you.
Best cooling system video about 9 years on
Awesome and well detailed it sir.
I take my hat off!
Great video... I think the best video on you tube for this subject hattts off

How much pressure should be aply with the tester,if I ever able to get my hand on one?
Excellent video. Thanks.
Wow !!! I feel like a car tech now .. thx you for the video . We’ll explained
6:56 Guy looks like his wife just left him and is contemplating his existence.
Vivid explanation of how to trouble shoot over heating of coolant.
Best video in the world right here.
great video, great channel. Thanks.
Air cooling rocks!
Very informative, thank you!
Very good... Unlike most youtube videos that just screams at you and tells you nothing useful
The best video
Thanks a lot. Great

Thumps down #1
Distilled water is the best!!!

As long as your overflow tank never went dry during engine cooldown when the coolant returned to the system then you won't have any air in the system.
My leaks is from the resevoir. It pushed coolant inside the resevoir out. Cant find an answer anywhere as to why
Me too

Full of detail explaination

nice video
thank you so much for this
@thesealord what happens if you over fill the reserve tank
Car explodes
I think the video forgot about thermoswitch for the cooling fans.
Temperature difference between two hoses,,15 degrees farenheight or celsius?
Wait, so in 13:10 it said the difference between the inlet and outlet of radiator is only 15 degree?! How could it cool the engine from over 200 degree?
I think 1 feels hot and the other feels slighly warm. On mine 1 feels cold and 1 feels birnin hot
Helpful 💯
Good introduction
very helpful
Excelent explanation
I do not use coolant . i use rainwater . my radiator . hose , and water pump are all working well for almost a decade now.
Why no coolant??
The engine diagram in this video is a honda K20a. I can tell from the head design and coil cover. I’m a nerd
Yessss haha
Nerds are cool.
I had a 1969 green Renault 16 that I bought for like cheap money from pretty girl they were so funny because they used to always drive me crazy until I researched it cooler engine oh having an electric fan says about 7 or 8% on your energy consumption.
what is the cause when my coolant reservoir gets full and empty radiator? even when it cooled down
Failed radiator coolant recovery cap or bad surface where the cap seals to the radiator flange, or possibly coolant recovery hose leaking in air.
Nice explanation, i plan to restore my Father's Hijet 1000 (1983 year) into mint condition, should i replace the radiator instead ?

I wished i had tools to work on my car
😔
I can let u borrow some
I wish i had space. I have no garage
Im a girl i go bought tools and im making a place ...just do it
Nice video thanks

This may be for Honda applications my needle hardly moves when the thermostat opens in a 03 civic
Is this a Honda training video?

Someone needs to tell you that water is 100percent a fact that it cools better than coolant

Same here 👀😪
Did u fix

What if you add too much antifreeze ?
@Mido Alaaeldin thx I appreciate that info
