Great looking car. hood scoop aaahh. sounds good but your trans is going out and/or you are missing the trans linkage or its way out of adjustment. TV linkage is a must on 904s or the trans will burn up fast. Also good choice on the wheels they look good. happy owner of 70 AMX. 70 Javelin. 59 American 2dr wagon.
Yeah sounded like a soft / slipping 1-2 shift… the TV cable adjusted properly would bump up line pressure… could also be the 2nd gear band out of adjustment.

Sorry but that's not a launch, that's just a pull away. LOL! When you can't even spin radial tires you got problems! On top of that I never liked the body design of these cars either.

Amc might have been the 4th Big three. They made some cool ass Musclecars thoe!
This car had it all. Good styling, great sound, and AMC gave us some extremely reliable engines
Too bad it’s an automatic, but what a fabulous car none the less!

Florida summer of 1986. First time down south. Saw an AMX take off from a red light and I havent forgotten it to this day.
You know those things are still rolling around, right? Car shows down south are one hell of a sight, let me tell you.

I have been a Ford guy my whole life, but if I ever cheated.....it would be with a Javelin.
Time for a shift kit.
This guy must be in a different country. In America we burn rubber. Give your America car what it wants man!
No kidding that was pretty weak for a foreigner.

The AMX/ Javelin is one of the best looking muscle cars to ever hit the streets….👍🏼👍🏼

These were soooo freakin cool!
The Grant wheel tho……. :nonono:
grant steering wheel kinda smallish and gaudy looking...should have kept the amc sports 3 spoke steering wheel...tbh

dont think they came with a 5.2 that would be a 318 they did have a 360 not chrysler so it would be a 5.9
What a sexy, and beautiful design that car was!
5.2L? Does it have a MOPAR 318 V8? AMC doesn't have a 5.2L.
No, it's an AMC built 304.

Yeah.... That's got me wondering, too. AMC never made a 5.2 litre engine. The 304 was 5.0 litres and the 360 was 5.9.

5.2 L is 318cu.in. No AMC engines meet that displacement. Your choices are 304ci (5.0L), 360 (5.9) or 401 (6.6).
