- In this video from the 2022 Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals held in Columbus OH, I have Mark Allen's 1973 AMC Javelin AMX. This custom 1973 AMC Javelin AMX is covered in a medium gray color paint with some factory chrome trim left in place. The bright red custom leather interior goes great with the color of the body.. A very clean design with focus on the duties of driving. Wheels are always a personal choice and no one set will please everyone...The ones they chose to run on this 1973 AMC Javelin AMX from the 2022 Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals fit the build, They are a modern version of a wheel You would have bought back in the day...Ground clearance in the front was nonexistent setting in the grass, But from what I could see from under the rear the suspension has been upgraded to more modern technology. I tried several times to find someone that owned this 1973 AMC Javelin AMX so I could see what powered it...Turns out that it is owned by Mark Allen the Head of Design for Jeep!! I'm sure He had better things to do than set around His car in a lawns Chair telling Me about His cool Hot Rod..lol...So I have little to no information on this 73 AMC Javelin AMX but it was way to cool just to walk by...A 1973 AMC Javelin AMX Pro Touring Street Machine from the 2022 Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals held in Columbus OH...Check it out!!!

for me one of the top 5 1973 AMC's !!
Right on....Very cool for sure!
Just cool because it's something different you don't see every day. 😊
Right on...And it's some nice work...
AMC = AMERICAS MEANEST CAR. i had a 72 gremlin x came stock with a 304 3 speed which i eventually changed engine first to a 360 out of an amc matador then with a 401 it was really sleeper too . i lost count of the camaros and mustangs it ate on friday and saturday nights at the local out of town drag strip. i wore it out prety good and sold it to a little old lady with a leadfoot that wanted passing power on the highway. i think she just loved the attention at the end of the strip.
Right on...Thanks for checking this one out here!!!
That was my favorite AMC Body style and it is TOTAL COOL !!!!!
I dig it to Brother!!
Perfect build Perfect wheels prefer those wheels over 90% of the one's on the builds you post about
Cool. Thanks for checking it out!!
One of the sickest whips I've ever seen. I've seen these plain jane all stock but never fixed up, lowered with rims. The stuff this guy did to it just brought out all the sexy sportyness of its body. This is just an all around badazz!!! Props to the owner!! Thanks for the great vid!
You're welcome Brother...Very cool build for sure!!
That is the best looking AMX that I’ve ever seen. Thanks Scotty!
I agree Brother...You're welcome!!
One of my favorite cars of all times
Way cool for sure!!!
Best lookin AMX I've ever seen.
Very cool build for sure!!
The fenders flares were done excellent. Look like the way factory should have been. The back is stock with stock spoiler, tail lights, and blacked out deck. The hood scoop is from a 70 Javelin or AMX. It really changes the front appearance and shortens the hood line. Car looks fantastic inside and out.
I had 70 AMX and my buddy had a 71 Javelin AMX we lowered and set up for autocross so they were quick down canyon roads. We'd "race" each other - sometimes in the other guy's car. Cars were fairly even. We liked to harass Corvettes and 911s. Camaro's and Mustangs were too easy.
Cool...Thanks for checking this one out here!!
Beautiful!!👍
Thanks for checking the video out!
Maaan, there's nothing wrong with this one! What a beaut!
I agree...They nailed it!!
That hood is not stock. It is custom made. That hood-scoop is a one year only from 1970. AMC called it the "Power Blister." Among other nicknames, one was the "dog snout." As far as I know it was offered on the last model year ['70] of the original 2-srater AMX. It was part of the AMC version of their "ram air" system.
Starting in '71-'73 with the new Gen2 Javelin/AMX "Go-Pack" option, the hoods were made of fiberglass and were of the "cowl induction " design.
The craftsmanship of this resto-mod not only on that hood, but, throughout is really tasty. 👌
Long live AMC muscle! 💪
Right on...Thanks for checking it out!!
I always loved the AMX 401, 4 speed was a wicked car in its day...that's a beautiful car Scottie thanks for the awesome video brother.👍👍👌
You're welcome Brother...Glad You enjoyed seeing it!!
I bleed blue oval, but the AMC Javelin AMX might be my favourite looking car of all time. Great shots, Scott
Thank You Brother....Cool is cool...
Love that car and whatever it has under the hood you can bet that it's BAD ASS!!
Right on....Thanks for checking it out Brother!!
This is right up there! beautiful custom of this Javelin, he corrected what needed to be done, (which is a LOT of work)! Now this is a dream car! BEAUTIFUL WORK!
Very cool build for sure....Thanks for checking it out!!
Magnificent … They made (assembled) these in Australia for a short period of time - thank you for posting this one as it’s truly the best one that I have ever seen.
You're welcome...Glad You enjoyed seeing it!!
Greatest Javelin ever? After spending the weekend at the AMC homecoming last weekend (dominated bt AMX's and Javelinn's) I'd have to say yes...
Very cool for sure...Thanks for checking it out here!!
Wicked work of art.
For sure!!
Thanks again brother scootie for this gorgeous piece
And I think the back light belongs to corvette 1984
You're welcome Brother...It's possible...
Nope those are factory javelin tail lights.
I have been a fan sense they first came out, but man this one is perfect.
Thank you sir.
You're welcome Brother..I'm a big fan of this one also!!
Oh it's cool alright, just perfect. Good eye Scottie - appreciate this 👍

I Like the 70 Hood on a 73 !.
Cool!
I never have seen before but looking good and young.
I thought it was cool too!!
Beautiful
I'm a fan too!
I had no clew this car existed. Thanks Scottie what a CAR. I find it odd that there was no one there to talk to?? I just did a search and you can buy these for $13K lots of them for sale.
Turns out the owner is Mark Allen...Head of design for Jeep....I'm sure he had better things to do than hang out at His car...He may have not even been there....Glad You enjoyed seeing it though!
you wont buy 1 like that for 13 k
@@stoneobject9969 no I agree I was just saying they are out there. Have a Great Weekend Buddy
Very cool👍
I agree!!
That is the Coolest AMX ever ! I’d rather have it to drive daily than a Vette.
I thought it was cool too!!
@@ScottieDTV I’ve owned and seen lots of cars, but the lines and sexy lines go on for miles !
I love the way they customized the front fenders wheel openings. If the cars has come like that from the factory they would have been more popular!
I prefer the 1971 cowl induction hood over the added 1970 scoop.
I like how they incorporated a dashboard (probably from a firebird) into the interior. It looks hood!
I am surprised to see the exhaust pipes running underneath the differential. Not something I would like.
Overall it looks like a really nice build and it is great to see these cars getting some attention.
Thanks for checking it out!!
So badass.
I agree!!
Is a awesome car 😀👍🏽👍🏻 , yeah I would have bigger brakes on the back as well if it was mine 👍🏽👍🏻
Right on...Thanks for checking it out!!
That is a beautiful looking car
I agree!!
Cars totally wild . Yep he is
Thanks for checking it out!!
The 68 through 70 AMX’s had two seats. The Javelins all had 4 seats, 2 buckets up front and a bench in the rear. The bench might have room for 3 adults, but it would be a tight fit!
Right on..Thanks for the information!
I prefer this method to get rid of the overhang! I have a 74 and it’s so temping to tuck that front!
Works good on this one...
Awesome
For sure!!
Rare and beautiful.
I agree!!
Definitely unique.
I dig it...
Cool 😎 !!
Right on!!
American racing wheels in 12 x 17 or 18 !
awesome !!
looks like 315 to 335 !!
Could be...Thanks for checking the video out!
That was bad ass
Glad You liked it!!
When I saw the thunbnail I click right way, thats my type of muscle car .
Right on...Very cool for sure!!
Hell yeah!
Right on!!
Nice!!!!!!!!
For sure Brother!!!
@@ScottieDTV 👍👍
That is a badass AMX. the AMX didn't have a back seat. try to get more info about what's under the hood. good find Scottie!
Thank You Brother!!
Wow man that thing is shortened quite a bit I have a 71 and mine looks significantly different being longer mine also has the 360 I wish I would have gotten the 401
Thanks for checking it out!!
It must have been lowered over 2 inches. I used to own a 71 and loved the lines, but this one has been modernized without losing any of the original cool. I love the outside, but actually prefer the original interior over this version. I'd have left the back seat in. On the interior, the only original parts seem to be the door panels, albeit with a different colour scheme. On the outside the major changes are the wheel wells which are heavily modified, but rest is pretty close except getting rid of the original cowl induction hood. It would be more sleek with the original hood. Cool car
Right on...Thanks for the info!!
Them rims nice
For sure!!
Hey Scotty, the dashboard and steering wheel looks like it is out of a trans am.
I agree with you
It does...But I wonder if these cars used that to...The owner is head of design of Jeep..Mark Allen I wouldn't think He would put Pontiac stuff in this?...But maybe He was a fan of that touch and wanted in this car...Wish I could have talked to him...
Right on...
Oh My.
lol...Right on!
LA MAQUINA DEL TIEMPO
Right on...Thanks for checking it out!!
Way cooler than the Ring Bros. car
Really? I like how the RB car moved the front wheels forward just a little bit. They're both super cool cars, for sure.
@@voodstoc I would agree that more work went into the RB car but this one looks simpler and more drivable. You can tell that there are probably a bunch subtle mods that a good eye would catch.
They're both pretty cool....
I agree...Both very cool cars...
Ton of work in both of them....
Scotty it's Buddy did you ever find out any more information up at 1973 AMX javelin keep the videos coming thank you
This was the only time I have seen it....
wow....is that a late 70s pontiac fireburd dashboard??
All I know is in the video....But I think AMC may have done the same as Pontiac...
wtf is that coooool !
is that a 12x17 rear tirer ?
All I know is in the video....sorry
Nice car. Looks like a 1970 hood. Was not a 2 seater.
Only 68 69 70 are w seaters,😎
Cool...Thanks for the information...I was wondering about that!!
What a beautiful AMC! Keys please
I agree Brother!!!
🇺🇸
Thanks for checking it out!
Sweeeet
Yes it is.....
10
Agreed!!
Maybe it does have an original 401, you stroke them, aluminum heads from Indy cylinder heads, you build horsepower and torque, it is like building a big block not a small block. A tremac transmission wil hook to it. These are American Motor AMC, not Jeep, Jeep was built by Willys Overlander originally, then Kaiser bought them late 50's, late 60's AMC bought them.
Maybe...Thanks for checking it out!!
My 428 c.i. Cougar ate Javelins for breakfast Scottie. But I would've hated to run up against this one. Hey there was AMX that was HOT around town years later but we could never get the guy to talk about it! Lee Strobel, a pro, couldn't beat it with his Corvette.
Right on....Cool cars for sure...
😲😮😍🤩💖👍‼️
Glad You liked it!!
@@ScottieDTV 👍
Front end is shortend, has a 69 hood scoop
Thanks for checking it out!
That's the hood scoop from the 1970 amx or Javelin. 69 had the two side sccops
this is a trans am dash board !
I dig it!
Gawkable & Suave.
Thanks for checking it out!!
Drop a business card and a note saying we need to know what’s been done to it bro
I can't afford cards....lol...
@@ScottieDTV come on man I can afford cards, their cheap online look them up
