1923 REO SpeedWagon Restoration - First Engine Fire Up! - Episode 1

- While we wait for the twin turbo Chevelle to head off to the paint booth, and the Godzilla swapped Lincoln Continental to return a completely new color, we decided to help out a friend with a pretty awesome project! He brought us over a 1923 REO Speedwagon! This is, by far, the oldest car we've ever worked on. And while there is a ton of work to get this 100 year old car restored, the first step is making sure we can get the engine running. So we're tearing into this ancient truck and seeing if we can get this engine fired up!
What's up next for this car? We're pulling out all the old wood and breaking out the carpentry tools to refresh the bed and the framing.
What's up next for the shop? We're doing a whole ton of metal work on our recently sandblasted twin turbo Continental and finishing up our freshly painted Lincoln Continental. So make sure to like and subscribe so you don't miss out on any of the work!
*I can't fight this feeling* that this is going to be an episode that people are going to *keep on loving* for years to come. Can't wait to see you *take it on the run*
That had to be said! 😂😂😂
Savages assemble ty for the content as usual 😅🔥💪🏽🫡💯
Love this wagon 😢
I had no idea that this was an actual vehicle and not a band name until this video
Cool truck amazing what they built back in the 1920's with the resources they had. Condolences to your friend hopefully you guys can get their project across the finish line for him. Vehicles, whether it's a loud and fast hot rod or a 1923 wooden spoked wheeled truck always seem to hold so many family memories. They just bring us all to a common ground we can all relate to. Looking forward to seeing the truck roll on down the road, have some fun with that one!
old school FIRE!!
This truck is really cool.
What a cool project!!
Coolest custom shop ever. I would clean the shop and toilets, just to be an intern at Salvage to Savage and to learn custom fab work.
Whoa, overhead valve engine!
It's not very often you get an engine fire up on the very first episode of a build series. That's one of the *many* things that puts S2S above the rest!
👍💪
I wonder how the engine would handle boost
My condolences to your friend and his loss on Christmas Day. I feel for him as I lost my dad on boxing dad.
Different note.
I do have a repair manual for vehicles of this era.
It's called
mechanician's
Automobile catechism and repair manual. Has no print date
This was not on my 2025 UA-cam bingo card!

From a Canadian follower: love you guys, love your channel, BUT hate your ignorant president destroying your country and trying to take over ours.
