You may want to research your neighborhoods before buying a home being a phd student. Lived here since the 80’s and haven’t heard of any shootings. KCMO depending on where you live is sketchy.
I've heard people say this before, and I can't fathom how they come to that conclusion. We don't live to far from Culver's and we do eat there. It's a good burger, don't get me wrong! However, it's not in the same league as In-N-Out!
Tornadoes aren't that bad unless you live near suburbs that are by the country side. Like Liberty, Blue Springs, south Belton and Raymore area, south Olathe, west of the legands, and anything north of the 435 loop on the Missouri side. Those are like the only places that are susceptibleto tornadoes
Hey sug… there are several Asian market, kpop store… etc in the overland park area i think. i have been there several times…everytime I visit my daughter. Fresh gymbap lol
Kansas City is now on my radar. Never been there before, but for some reason Kansas City has my attention lol. Right along Louisville. I’ll have to come visit
We have better sports if you're into that! 🤣 In all seriousness, we love Louisville. We went there last April for a conference and had a blast. It was such a great time. Please hit me up when you come! Would love to grab a meal with you.
Be a franchisee and bring an In and Out restaurant here. That seems like a lame con to not have a west coast restaurant. Go to Whataburger or Culver’s. Had In and Out in Vegas and it seemed like any other burger joint. Just an odd list. Very strange if you are trying to attract people here.
kcmo is full of crime and poverty. It’s your typical “central city” but with low density. Most the jobs, economy, wealth and density are in Johnson county Kansas now in the southwest corner of the area.
Agree on the crime and poverty in some locations. However, I know that there is more wealth and economy in other parts of KC, not just JoCo. There are places in downtown and midtown that are growing fast, and the Northland is booming as well.
@@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong Johnson county’s GDP is 48 Billion now and contains over 50% of the metro areas office space. It’s actually the largest employment center in the area now at 340,000 jobs. Much more high paying jobs there. Both sides are great tho
@@iknowdeweybrudda6564 Yeah, I agree! I see the appeal of both sides. You're right about Johnson County, and I actually didn't know that about the office space!
@@AlexVanOstran Yeah, I just had a client close on a home in Blue Springs. I plan on doing a Blue Springs tour, as well as exploring Raymore and Grain Valley. Do you live here?
It depends on where in NY and NJ! I would imagine that if you're moving from a high crime area in NY, you can definitely find some areas here that would be very safe. However, there IS gun crime here for sure, especially in the inner city.
Cold AF in the winter and Hot AF in the summer. Spring? Fall? What is that? Things to do? Eat out or do things inside. There is no real crime unless you live inside the highway circle of death. When they talk about Kansas City area, they are talking about all of the nice surrounding suburbs. NEVER, NEVER consider living inside Kansas City, Missouri and DEFINITELY not Kansas City, Kansas! Two cities named Kansas City and inside each city limits suck! Tornadoes usually are a concern near the west side of the KC area, not the east side. A tornado might come near the city maybe once every few years, mostly a Kansas issue. For those of you who love life at home, you can buy a big house for cheap (relatively cheap since the housing market has gone through the roof). No crazy traffic like DC or Los Angeles. Awesome place to live if you work from home! In-n-out? Man has never been to Culver's!!!
@geekworthy7938, thanks for commenting! Few counter points: -I don't get your point about Spring and Fall? Yes, they are short seasons, but they are the nicest times here in Kansas City. These past years, Spring has been pretty long! -Things to do - this is where I disagree with you. We came from LA, where there is an endless list of things to do, but you could never get there because of traffic. Here, we have less thigns to do, but always accessible. Plus, they are building so many new attractions. -There IS crime outside the highway circle! The stats show as much. It is concentrated in the circle, but to say there is no crime in the suburbs is simply not true. -Never live in Kansas City MO or KS - I disagree with this one. I think that you can easily find places in both of those cities to live where you would have relatively low crime, good schools, and find yourself happy. -Tornadoes - the two that touched down in 2022 were both in Missouri. Oak Grove and Grandview. The ones in Kansas were farther away. Historically, you may be right though.
A warm Christmas is weird. And kids love snow. I prefer seasons. Cali has seasons too but it happens in an hr instead of a few months. California is so overrated.
in and out burger isn't good any more in my opinion.....the hamburgers are really really thin. I would rather go to Denny's. Their hamburgers are like 4 times thicker
Yes, I have heard that a lot from people! Although I would say that Wyandotte and KCMO are comparable in terms of crime. I know JoCo is much different.

I mean that I don't think that your premise is right. It's easy to blame the "rich people," but I think that most people who are moving here are going to be any higher than middle class. Most are families who want a more affordable place to live.
@@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong I understand, although they demand a higher wage because they came from an inflated city, if they were making 80k in Cali then they should be getting 60k in Kansas City. Culver's burger is much better than In-n-out's
I've heard people say this before, and I can't fathom how they come to that conclusion. We don't live to far from Culver's and we do eat there. It's a good burger, don't get me wrong! However, it's not in the same league as In-N-Out!
Facts !!!!! And fry’s are better as well!
You are absolutely right! I had a client who said a tornado touched down on their property on Oak Grove. Scary!

Both are mediocre places to live with HORRIBLE weather most of the year.
What is the minimum wage there?
$12 in Missouri, $7.25 in Kansas!
I've had both Whataburger and Culver's. Not impressed at all. I-N-Out has said it will never franchise.
Lived 30yrs of fast paced life, now i want slow life
Did you live in Los Angeles? Or are you summarizing my video?
kcmo is full of crime and poverty.
Both sides are great tho

more crime than ny &nj?
Few counter points:
-I don't get your point about Spring and Fall?
@geekworthy7938 - Culver's?? We go there about once a month. It's a fine burger, but I would never put it near In-N-Out. 😂
A warm Christmas is weird. And kids love snow. I prefer seasons. Cali has seasons too but it happens in an hr instead of a few months. California is so overrated.

Missouri or Kansas?????!!!!!
Both! The metro spans both states!
Or so sorry you didn't take the time to find a place on the smart side of KC on the Kansas side
Yes, I have heard that a lot from people! Although I would say that Wyandotte and KCMO are comparable in terms of crime. I know JoCo is much different.
@@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong yes I live in mission ks it's a older neighborhood but no shootings and crime. Except the shootout with the cops at the Quick trip near my house and those people were from Tennessee in a stolen car. But my family has lived in the Johnson county area all my life

Bunch of rich people moved from their lame liberal cities to kc and made it too expensive
😢
Seems like a simplistic answer to the question, but whatever! 🤷🏽♂️
@@LivingInKansasCity-JaylennWong what does that mean bro, I grew up seeing Lenexa turn from cow pastures to apartments. I have a masters degree and a good job and still too expensive for what it is, if there was public transit the price would be acceptable.
They aren’t getting 60k though because they demand more and some might being working remote from a company in an inflated city. Causes all of our prices to go up. We are all doing our best and that’s okay. Inflation won’t end so can’t be too worried.
