- Setting up my 24 inch bandsaw to cut veneer. In this video I cover - blade choice, setting blade tension, setting the guides, adjusting the fence for the "drift" angle, and positioning the fence for consistent thickness across the width of the veneer pieces.
What a brilliant video Timothy. I really appreciate the way you work and you sharing this. I have learnt a few things from you here that I will use in making my own resawing process
Very useful overview of using a bandsaw to cut veneers.
Thanks for sharing Tim always great information.
Thank you for taking the time to teach your process! Very valuable to learn from someone as accomplished as you.
Thanks for sharing this. I enjoy seeing what works for you.
Good video containing all the essentials with demonstrations. Thanks,
Thanks Tim, great video. I picked up some good pointers on setup. Picture quality and sound were great as well.
Still picking up tips the third time thru!
Great stuff Tim. I will put some of your advice to good work to make my veneer cutting more successful. Thanks.
Thank you Tim for taking time to share how you set up your bandsaw. I picked up a couple of tips to get my newer 14” bandsaw resawing better.
Thanks, Tim. Your method of blade tensioning involving visual flutter was helpful. I also appreciated your specific references to guide block setup with regard to the gullet depth-good photography of this as well.
Interesting to see the flutter method on a proper machine, and the block and sliver kerf trick is appreciated .😁
Very gracious of you to share this information. Thank you.
Great process run through. Thank you!
The bandsaw makes all the difference. Thanks for putting pieces of adjustment into a cohesive procedure. old guy will be back to review...LOL!
Interesting, good stuff. Cutting veneers, I've never been able to make them that thin and consistent (one or the other but not both!). Looking forward to getting back out to the workshop and giving it a whirl. Thanks for the video. Cheers, David
Thank you SO MUCH! I’ve got a Hammer N4400 that cuts very well, but with a few adjustments, I think I can take it up a notch.
Great tips Tim! I've got what might be a silly question... Did you adjust the lower bearings as well? You stated that you backed them off but never mentioned adjusting them again. Thanks- Dan
Good info.. but I always cringe when I see no eye protection.
