Beautiful Drives: Hawes to Thwaite over Buttertubs Pass

Between Hawes and Thwaite is the famous Buttertubs Pass. It's been filmed many times and written about even more. Leaving Hawes we travel up and over Buttertubs Pass along Cliff Gate Road before descending in to the tiny village of Thwaite.
The weather is not good, its grey, wet and not particularly warm but unlike the TV, this is real life and we take what the weather has to offer. The good thing, whilst the views are limited by cloud cover, the scenery is still breathtaking and takes on a character all of it's own.
