I have always trimmed my hair for several reasons:
    1. It makes it easier to comb, i can literally run my fingers through my 4C hair.
    2. It feels healthier
    3. It doesn't shed as much
    4. You don't even notice the diffrence in length with the small amount you trim.
    5. Undoing twists is a breeze! 😌👍🏾

I do the search and cut method. It takes forever but I don’t have kids or a husband so I have time. 😂 I like the search and destroy aspect, it can get addicting actually.

I recently "trimmed" 3 inches off my hair. I've never loved it more
I was so frustrated with it at the time, but now my hair retains moisture like crazy.
Also it was my first trim, ever

I know I shouldn't be scared of trims, but I need time to talk myself into trimming, and after...it's the best feeling ever. Your nails are beautiful by the way❤.

I trim 1/4-1/2in every 90days. I go into my calendar on my phone to mark the days every year lol.
I still come up 4-5inches per year. I'm happy with that.

Knots are an indicator that the hair is severely dehydrated.
    Trim that hair

I have single strand knots all over, I trim maybe every 6m. But my hair/ends are almost never exposed Bc ive always wore a wig. My 4c hair is definitely growing and doing well

Work on your nutrition as well. Try to get your vitamin levels checked. If you can't typically ppl are low in iron, vitamin d &/or B.

Omgoodness...this video definitely confirmed that I need a trim. I just didn't want to go to someone that was scissor happy and I also wanted to save money doing it myself. Thank you for posting this video.

Trims are very important. No one is telling anybody to go scissor crazy (our hair doesn’t need that treatment). But end health is vital.
I’ve been doing my own hair for years and I’ve just felt comfortable now to find a natural hair specialist. She installs my protective styles (getting my first sew-in next week) but she also did a well needed trim on me.
For years I was only dusting my ends and I thought that was fine. I knew something was off about my hair health because I would always experience these single strand knots at the end of my hair and have so much shedding.
She trimmed off about three inches of my hair, it’ll grow back at the rate I know my hair grows at best and the health of my hair is back intact! Trims don’t need to be this scary event we dread as naturals 🥰

I accidentally found myself doing a search and cut because I could hear the snapping of hair when I combed through it and the ends wouldn't straighten so I took a really close look at them and saw the fairy knots and split ends and Shafts

I'm always hesitant because I think that the way I've parted my hair isn't that ultra neat (like the pros do) and I might be doing more damage to length and health due to my inexperience. 😔

How many times should we trim? For example, I got my hair trimmed this February and wanted to see if I should trim again in May or June? Some people say every 3 months, others say 4-5 months.

    1) mini twists
    2) slipp slipp detangler of some sort
    3) finger det from the bottom up first
    4) nutrition/hydration inside and out
    5) protective style and bonnet, i need to try to tuck my ends before bonnet or scarf, (in a bun or something)

I do the search method. An easy way to do it is to detangle your hair while it’s wet and see which strands won’t go all the way through/knots right back up even when you detangle it fully. I observe it and then cut it off. I do it weekly. It doesn’t take that long if you use this method lol

I'm about to do this now, but my dye-ravaged 4c Afro hair has grown a lot, and I want to retain the length! Probably a trim....Fudge Time Machine hair treatment system actually repairs damaged Afro hair, try it! Also good for really tangled, knotty Afro hair! Add a little Fudge Rewind conditioner before taking out locks and plaits, or tender headed kids, the brilliantly repairing Fudge Rewind conditioner loosens and repairs the poor hair roots! Saves me 2 hours! UK 18.11.23 🇬🇧

@GreenBeauty you mentioned you do not like hair threading, my question how long can you wear hair threading styles not the threading of wraping the thread continuously around the hair covering it completing but wrapping where it looks like two strand twist.

Do these split ends form knots on the middle part of a strand? I have crazy spilt ends and some annoying knots in the middle of my hair and it’s sadly eating away on my length! My hair is 6 but looks like a 2 years old, someone help with an opinion or suggestion on what I could do for that pls, thank you

    • @virginiamontaldo440
      @virginiamontaldo440 Рік тому +2

You should use a pair of hairdresser's scissors, preferably not dull. Standard scissors are not sharp enough and so might create split ends on your strands. Just what you want to avoid 😅
