      No. It's not rugged enough for that price. The light weight is great, but I'd prefer to have a heavier knife that I trusted more. I'm sure the blade is very good steel. The action appears fine. I can get a cheap knife that will do light weight jobs just as well as this Bugout, and apply the savings toward another tool. That plastic handle with no metal liner or metal frame relegates it to tasks that are less demanding. That's too much money for that level of usefulness.

    Just received a Bugout for my birthday as was a little worried after reading reviews in which people made the knife sound weak. After getting the knife in hand let me tell you any worry I had has been put to rest. The knife is solid as can be and your video further proves this point. If you are on the fence about this knife trust me it’s well worth it.

    Just returned a 940 to cabelas, I didn't like the black scales/stainless blade look, honestly just looks like a cheap steak knife to me when it's open. Decided to grab one of these bugout knives instead and holy crap I didn't expect it to be able to take this much punishment. My normal work duties shouldn't strain this thing in the slightest. Let's drive this Honda Civic over this pile of cinderblocks and see if it breaks... What you SHOULD expect from the 535 Bugout: a super lightweight tool that cuts efficiently, doesn't rust easily, and stays sharp a long time. What you SHOULD expect if you pry with a thin stainless steel knife blade: it will break. What you SHOULD expect if you beat a Bugout with a hammer: the edge will chip, and the liners will bend.

    • @RR9sf
      @RR9sf 3 роки тому +1

      Fr…People act like knife should be the only tool for everything. For an “EDC”, it has more durability than we would ever need. Everytime someone says that “a cheaper knife is a lot tougher than bugout,” I just tell them that an axe is even stronger than any knife, what’s their point?

Benchmades would be worth it to me if the omega springs weren’t such an inherent design flaw in the long term. And if you plan on using a benchmade for fishing, you better keep those springs oiled on a regular basis! It sucks because the blades are great…

    Damn, now this is a real review! Thank you. I was going to return two of my bugouts because they felt flimsy but guess I was dead wrong.

      I think it feels like that because of how light it is, I like the design but I didnt really care about weight so much so I got some brass scales for it and it makes it feel a lot more solid and gives it a little weight, which I like. They also have titanium, carbon fiber, aluminum and I think there’s even some wooden scales out there if you look hard enough.

    Im the owner of probably worlds heavily used Benchmade Bugout. And i agree that this knife is very tough. Only issues i have is with tumb stubs- they just aluminum an they just wipe off, and axis bar is from titanium- its just not good material of that kind of task, TI is very vurnable to attrition. I must change it becouse its just end, blade was closing on filars. I got photo on insta if u whant to look.

    Lost my Spyderco para2 at work so I had to buy another EDC knife. It was a toss up between the BM Osborne and the BM Bugout.. I wound up getting both

    Lol, not typically destroying a knife but using and not being a Vanna white and just talking about it.

      Sad thing is he really did not sacrifice anything because the bugout held up lol which is a good thing but without his testing we wouldn't have known if it could go thru many of these things and come out just fine....
