FISH4FUN: USING JUGS TO CATCH TRUMAN LAKE CATFISH
Вставка

- My brother and I go to Truman Lake to jug for Blue Catfish. The lake was murky and in draw-down and the wind was from the north. Come along and watch us try to figure out how to catch them.

Love the video. You're certainly spoiled to think you didn't catch many fish. The video before the move would have been a great day. 👍
Mark, I never measure the success of my trips by the number of fish I catch but time wouldn't us catch more. Thanks for watching and taking your time to comment.
Great time! Can’t wait for weather to cool down. Have a great day.
Bob, just as the weather starts getting cooler they are projecting more high temperatures soon. I am sure we will be wishing we had warm weather when winter sets in LOL. The fish will have to eat sooner or later. Thanks as always.
Thanks for taking me along
Terry, thanks for coming along. Fishing can be a lonely voyage if you don't have someone with you!!!!!
Great video Jerry except your lunch!! Lol that was pretty funny guys
The Potted Meat can and the Fancy Feast can were the same size and color and my wife had put them both on the same shelf. I got up before daylight and prepared my lunch and I just grabbed a can and put it in the box LOL. My brother got a lot of mileage out of the whole thing!!!! Oh, the joys of fishing!!!!!!!!!! Thanks as always Jason.
i loved it all especially the fancy feast lunch . looks like something i would do
That fancy feast lunch has made me more popular than my videos LOL. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment.
I don't think I would have admitted to the Fancy Feast can, but,the dessert, that's great. Thanks for the video.
Tim, this is just one of many such incidences!!!!! That's part of how it is when you reach 83 years young LOL. Thanks as always Tim.
Sharing the cat food makes it more real. I can't count the number of times I have made errors.
Thanks for taking me along enjoyed it
Terry, thanks for coming along with us. Sometimes I can almost feel my viewers as they come along. That's partly how I decide to put in the videos.
Look here Jerry. I know you're going out to catch catfish but you don't have to eat cat food to catch em! Ha Ha!! Great video!
Well, Russell, It worked LOL. Oh the thrills of get old!!!! Thanks as always buddy.
Good video!!
Thanks Kirk. The cold early and wind later made it a difficult day to fish. But, the catching was great.
Enjoyed the ride. Glad I was able to come along. Nice job on the noodles. Pretty catfish by the way…
Thank you Boyd. I agree, the Blue Catfish is a beautiful fish. The noodles have served us well. Dozens of my viewers have copied them with good results.
Great video Mr Jerry, always enjoy jug lining we you all. That Dwayne is a good guide. Hahaha. You’ll have to catch Ms Kitty some extra white bass since you took her cat food. Blessings friend.
Ben, Ms Kitty would be glad for me to eat her cat food, that means she will get more white bass LOL. Thanks so much for your support Ben.
Thank you for the trip jerry !!! always a pleasure to be along!!!
I wish you could have actually been there with us. I would have shared my lunch with you LOL. Thanks for watching and responding.
Thanks for the ride.....Love those jug noodles....made me 16 last year....they work great....they fit beautifully in an old milk crate..... thanks for the video on how you made them.....
I am glad you liked them. We have had good luck with them. Thanks for coming along.
I built your style of noodle jugs...they work great! The cat food didn't look so bad! Thanks for your videos!
How come you tried my jugs but didn't try my Fancy Feast!!!!?? You're gonna love the jugs, thanks for the feedback.
Just haven't been that hungry yet!
I like your videos a lot. I fish as much as I'm able but I recently lost my leg so it makes it difficult. Your videos fill a void i feel for fishing from a boat for all species of fish. I fish truman lake a lot and many conservation ponds in my area and Windsor lake. Love what you do! Keep it up. Thank you. Don
It's comments like yours that makes me want to keep doing this at age 83. I get lots of comments from people who's health make it difficult to fish. I would love to fish with you some time. Thanks again Don.
You and Dwayne make the perfect team! Your father obviously taught you boys right! As always Jerry, than you for taking me along!
If you could have known my father!!!! He was a dedicated fisherman for sure. He was sort of a combination of the two of us. He would have gotten a bang out of the Potted Meat lunch. Thanks for coming along again.
I am more of a friskies fan but I might give fancy feast a try.
You and my brother are both enjoying the whole affair LOL!!!!! Thanks for watching (I think?)!!!
As always,it was a pleasure watching you guys load the boat. I just wish that I could tag along for real.
Well, maybe some day you can Floyd? That would be fun for both of us. Thanks for your loyal support.
here kitty kitty kitty that is funny right there.LOL LOL
When, I got home my complained that I didn't bring the smelly contents back LOL. I though my brother would never get his breath back!!! Oh, the joys of fishing!!! Thanks Dave.
I have been watching way too many of your very enjoyable and addictive videos this week.
Are you the Dr. Jerry Routh that taught at SMSU in the Industrial Education department. If so-I was one of your students in several classes. Looks like your hair has turned the same color as mine. LOL.
That is the same guy. Fantastic hearing from another former student. Hit me again and maybe we can exchange contact information and relive some of those great days. Thanks so much for making my day.
Hahaha Fancy Feast! Since it was cat food, did you bait any lines with it? 😊 Some dandy blues made the net; nice job. Since I didn't hear any heat exhaustion or heat stroke commentary I assumed this was shot a month or more ago. Truman is quite the cat fishery. Well done Jerry and Dwayne. Don
Don, I would have loved to catch a catfish on my lunch but I couldn't figure out how to get it to stay on the hook LOL. My brother hasn't caught his breath yet!!!! One of the joys of doing what we do. I'm not going to complain because when cold weather sets in we will yearn for warmer weather. I'm ready for the fish to start biting in the lakes again though. Thanks like always.
Love the jug design. I have watched several of your jug videos before. I can’t seem to make out how you tie it back to the jug. Any way you could explain that?
Joshua, check my playlists under the Catfish group and I have shown how to make the jugs and tie them off. Also look under the "THINGS I DO" list. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
What guage galvanized wire is that?
Michael, I'm not sure. It is approximately 1/8 diameter. I buy the wire from MFA Farm Supply and it is galvanized. Thanks Michael.
Just ran across your video, what do you use for name tags. Roger Amos Southeast Missouri.
Rodger, first off, I don't write my name or conservation number on my jugs because they wear off after several trips. I make my tags from empty milk jugs. They are smooth on one side and rough on the other. They will last for years if you use permanent markers on the rough side. Great question Rodger.
@@jerryrouth6115 thank you for the information, I have the same problem with it coming off I will try the milk jug trick.
