I have a gift for you! 😊 It's a free Affinity Photo course that will teach you 10 simple steps to make any photo amazing. I hope you love it! affinity.sale/10-steps
Or use luminosity selection with detect edges > create black matte (thats for aberration effect) > than invert mask > create white matte (for glow and sateen effect) then create pixel layer with procedural texture paste this [var v=vec2(rx,ry)/150; (perlinsc(v,7,0.55)*vec3(0.4,0.15,0.2))+(smoothstepsc(0.4,0.5,0.5,0.6,perlinsc(v/2,5,0.6))*0.5)] select first black matte add some aditional blur, selecet white mask and diffuse > create gradient map select your favourite color
Step 2 is much easier to do with duplicating the 1st pixel layer, then Ctrl+leftclick on the 1st pixel layer to achieve a selection of the white lines, then increase the selction for a few pixels, then paint over it with a big paint brush and afterwards press Ctrl+D to deselect. Further proceed as mentioned in the video (doing a blur and blend mode to lighten, etc.).
My english it not very good but il like your video because you speak slowly and clearly with short sentences. I have a great progression with affinity. Ty
Fun technique. My only suggestion is that if you're drawing the lines with a mouse, use the rope stabilization feature. This controls the draw-jaggies.
I don't know if someone may find this useful but while I was tracing the white lines I was holding down Shift and the line would follow along, helped me make straighter lines and smoother curves. I'm assuming the technique shown here would be smoother on an Ipad.
I can technically do this on the iPad, right? I just have to look for the buttons/settings, right? Or is this affinity photo completely different from the iPad version?
I use a Wacom tablet. It’s a little expensive, but it makes working with Affinity's paint brush so much easier. 😊 www.amazon.com/Wacom-Wireless-Software-Included-CTL6100WLK0/dp/B079NWPZTG/

I love Affinity!
Affinity is so fun! 😊
Just wondering... Why did you draw the details in white and then again in magenta? Wouldn't you achieve the same look by skipping the white?
It would look similar, but not quite the same. 🙂
thanks for this tutorial, I like it

I have this tutorial. 😊 ua-cam.com/video/yeLZ-7Hjxcg/v-deo.html
Nice, but why didn't you use a pixel fill layer with mask to draw lines so that the color could easily be changed ?
I hadn't thought of that. Great idea! 😊
Is the same process using the iPad version? Because that’s the one I have :(
Me too!
Yes, all of the tools I used in this video are on the iPad version as well. 😊
