I Got Lectured By A Donkey Today

I visit and bring treats to a Rescue Rehabilitated Guard Donkey named Rocky every morning at sunrise. He and his girlfriend, another guard donkey, plus their newborn donkey son Lil Burrito, are ultimately responsible for the wellbeing and protection of the goats in their herd. Coyotes in their 2 square mile open prairie try to attack the goats so Rocky’s job is extremely important.
Rocky is a young, charming, outgoing and expressive 2 yr old. He just had his first son not to mention his first girlfriend, Teetah who is a relatively new addition.
The goats, the donkeys and their babies are a constant source of amusement and entertainment for me. I think I’ve built up a really nice relationship with them all, but mainly with Rocky. He’s always braying or talking, running around being shy, being silly, going wild and always a sweetheart. I love him with all my heart.
I hardly ever miss days I don’t see all of them with treats but I’ve been out of town for a week and I got lectured by Rocky. A Donkey who missed me clearly. He had plenty to say. I think he was both happy and relieved.
