I used to not get too excited about New Year's Eve, but this year feels a little different for some reason. It's a season for massive action. Some of these protocols almost didn't make the cut for this video, but when I reflected honestly about the things I believe are most helpful, these are what I felt deserved to be shared. Are there any approaches you're currently using that I might have missed?
Worth underscoring that in addition to core structures, start memorising the 60-70 most essential verbs as soon as possible and use this as the scaffold. Pleased to have found your channel. Best wishes for 2025.
A very good video. I've been struggling for a while with my italian but I have made notes of your protocols to reinforce/ remind myself. Grazie mille !
Great video! I’m personally trying to learn Greek. I am Greek by birth and went to Greek school for a few years and even had a tutor and never ended up acquiring the language. Having heard it all my life and still remembering how to read and spell I think I’m at an advantage compared to starting from complete 0, but it’s still really hard. I really like the whole “frequency > intensity” point. Sometimes I find myself discouraged because I’m not studying for 6 hours a day but it’s good to know that even 30 mins a day can help as long as it’s frequent and mindful!
Wow the quality of the video!... Ваш русский просто замечателен, браво! Очень часто я радуюсь, что мне не нужно учить русский, потому что не думаю, что смогла бы 😄Вы молодец! My native language is Russian and a year ago I started learning Korean, made some good progress so far with a hope to reach at least B2 by the end of 2025. Happy new year to you and all your loved ones 💜
Excellent protocols for learning foreign languages ! 👍 This video is worth watching for 2025 language learning goals 🔥 Thanks for sharing the tips with us and good luck with your channel 💪
Really happy to have found this video, it is really valuable information and the editing makes it highly appealing. I can't believe that you don't have bigger numbers on the platform, i guess it's just a matter of time. Thanks for everything! Happy New Year :)
If you are not in the foreign country then I recommend the following to kickstart your learning if It’s a common language covered by the following: Pimsleur language course & Michel Thomas course (but only the ones with Michel himself teaching). Yes, you will have to do more after these but they really break through barriers for you. Just do one at a time and nothing else until you finish them. You’ll get a good ear for the language, a fair accent and the confidence to learn.
Great video Thomas, insightful and visually pleasing to watch. Quality mate. Subscribed and signed up for the newsletter. Looking forward to more of these videos.
I am trying to learn Korean. I have been plugging away for years but I really want to be able to communicate well with my friends in Korea using Korean.
I do not love russian either but it has nothing to do with current war. I prefer to learn languages of country with sun 😅. Not snow and cold. But every one has its reasons to choose a language.
Don't threaten the geese! They're welcome to be in the video! (Also, they will absolutely fight back, and when they bite you, we'll just laugh at you for starting trouble with them. :P)
I don't understand why geopolitics, borders, ideologies and the philosophical question of what is and where does the concept of freedom start (at birth? by grace of governments?) And perhaps more importantly, when it get corrupted becsuse Ukraine is not itself blameless (2014). I am confused about why you comment on a language learning video (cultural matter) esp. when more than 90% Ukrainians use Russian as a main language. Greetings.
