Bobby love everything you do for us beginners. You flair and josh from outdoor limits got me duck hunting. And good choice of music for your outro. ADTR is an awesome band.
You should do a video on “what to do when you have a warmer week than you did the last few weeks, in the middle of duck season”. What tips you have on bringing the ducks in when it’s warmer than usual, and what to do and not to do in warmer situations.
Started duck hunting half way through Oregon season last year, learned a lot from your videos thank you. Got my first spread from goodwill and work great and will be repainting them next week.
All a beginner duck hunter needs is: 1 dozen decoys, a gun, ammo, a lot of patience, and a lot of effort and time. It’ll be worth it in the end. P.S. I’m for sure ready for sweatshirt weather. It’s been hot and sticky up here in ND since May.
Got that mower covered! Good deal. UV light and moisture will eat up plastic and metal right quick. I know I have let too much rot away because I didn't cover it. The magnets on the flywheel and ignition coils rust pretty quickly. Before you know it you don't have spark. I've had this happen to a Ferris commercial mower. Not from sitting out back, but just from the exposure to rain on the trailer going to and from worksites. What a pain in the ass to diagnose.
Flambeau decoys have started making 12 packs of Univision mallards again. 29 bucks. When they quit making them they have been as expensive as 120 dollars each. Probably the best overall decoy ever made. They break easily at the keel and the keels are molded in. But for drawing ducks after you wear the paint off the hens there the secret weapon Noone is going to tell you.
A very good spread is 2 dozen avian x, 1dozen early season pack, 6 preener pack, 6 open water pack. Decoys every duck, teal, mallard, spoonies etc. Mojos arnt a must but they are definitely good in some situations.
you guys are lucky..here in northern Cali and i mean way up northern towards almost oregon border mojo scares away the geese all the time. They flair right away. Plus in Cali we cant use mojo or any electronic wing mimmic until Dec 1 .
Yeah, jerk should also be an option. Cause in Arkansas, where I’m located, mechanical decoys such as mojos are not allowed on public land. Only motion creating decoy(s) allowed is a jerk rig setup.
Great intro! To share, As a hunter without that much waterfowl stuff. I depend on people like you with all the crap; and I make up for this by trading a hunt, and making sure to have food for the hunt, breaking out a cooler with the fix'n to make sub's get's me invited back. Liked
You did it agin bobby great video I’m starting this year duck hunting I’ve got almost everything I think you should do a what you need to hunt ducks in the field and a what you need to hunt ducks in water list everything from guns to clothes to decoys
That's hilarious! I went up to Indiana for opening day to shoot some Woodies for mounting and though I was hunting a private lake, there were 3 or 4 groups out and 1 was hitting the call hard, hard all morning long and we didnt touch our calls and limited out within the first 2 hours!
Here in Minnesota we are not allowed to use motorized decoys for the first part of the season. I'm curious if you have ever used wind powered spinning wing decoys? I would also like to know how you set up and use jerk rigs, or if you even do use them? Great videos man, I know I appreciate all of this info you give us.
What I’ve learned is that when late-season birds are coming in to the spread, to prevent them from flying away is that you want to keep calling, as they have seen so many spreads where suddenly the calling stops (as the hunters are pulling up their guns) so they’ll fly off. So keep calling, but you don’t want to panic and hammer the call, or it will sound like something is wrong.
I just subscribed, I am fairly new to duck hunting and deployed right now so trying to find out as much info as possible for this upcoming season. Thanks for making vids like this.
Great video. I’m a beginner duck hunter. This season was my first ever. Facebook Markertplace is also a good place to find gear. I scored 2 and a half dozen mallard decoys for $40.
I've had 20+ ducks land over six mallard decoys. Most I've ever had come in on the river, all because I had them in a decent current which created lots of movement. I've had groups of 10 (average around here) totally ignore a spread of 100 on the river. I've only been a really avid waterfowler for about 5 years. I've discovered that more often than not, less is more when it comes to ducks with decoys and calling. Geese are basically the polar opposite.
Yep. They see huge spreads all over. Huge spreads=danger, not safety in numbers later on. I run half a doz teal, and two woodies and kill ducks just fine in the river.
how about some cupped dux hoodies or shirts in tan/brown or green?! Would love that color option. We hunt flooded corn fields so I prefer those colors. Love the vids Bobby. Keep them coming.
Bobby, Thx 4 video! .more more more videos for us beginners shooting on public marshes please...What u left out is how do you recommend setting up the 12 to 18 decoys that I have now? For example: i have 6 mallards, 6 teal, 3 pintail, 3 widgon. All mixed of drake n hens. 1)So what kind of pattern would u set up? 2)with my decoys for example, when the pattern is set, where would u set up each decoy type in the pattern? U follow me? Where the mallards in the pattern, where the teal placement in pattern? Etc Or how would u set up my decoys for example. If u have time to respond to me,, thx. Otherwise pls make a video on this topic for us beginners.
Roostersnake if you don't like the videos then don't watch them and make comments to get attention Bobby is just doing what he loves and hes sharing his passion to hopefully help out people
Bobby your awesome man. I have watched every episode you got. But I really would love to see a vid on how to set up goose silhouettes in the field or the mud flats. Been getting big into goose hunting lately and would love some pointers from you. Thanks Bobby catch you on the next one peace
6 teal 12 malard, two caribiners 1.5 inch. decoy cord and 12 Oz weigjts. And three mojos two mallards one teal. A bag a thermos, shotgun and shells and a ghilli suit.
Would you recommend a double reed or a single reed duck call for a beginner for their first duck call? And what brand do you recommend starting out on?
I started a couple years ago and run 6 dozen avian x mallards and 8 dozen fullbody mallards and 7 mojos just to make sure they look at my spread and not anywhere else
Sometimes the best place to look in public water is that one puddle with nothing in it. Quite often id set up on the upwind side, not call, no decoys, and hike out before most.
So bobby when I’m hunting for ducks on one of my own property and I have 18 hen and drake mallard ducks and 12 wood ducks would I want to put all of them out in one big spread or in two separate spreads or just put 6 hens 6 drakes and 12 wood ducks ? I would like to know your opinion so I can become a better waterfowl hunter please, and thanks for your time.
Ok, so I have been trying to figure out how to combat the thick thick marsh muck up here. It's like 3 feet maybe more deep. Like every marsh I've ever been to. I've gone to using my kayak, but you still have to fight the muck to get to the 4 inches of water. Any tricks? Any tips besides fight through it for hours on end? LOL
What kind of decoy spread would you recommend for big water? I live in MN and I hunt big lakes out of a boat. We shoot puddlers and diver ducks. Thanks love you're vids
Is this dozen the same dozen you would use early season, all season, teal season, etc? Given the same public hunt constraints you outlined. Great info. I’m specifically trying to get my twin boys out early season before the pressure ramps up. Hillsdale lake area, NE Kansas.
You don't always have to put out decoys or call if you know ducks are coming and you can get close enough to the spot they want to be. Limited out a many a time with decoys and calls at the house
I personally only use them in fields I feel like on water from birds eye view ( decoy spread from drone at 30yrds) veteran Birds and spooky birds I feel like look for more than just a flicker.
Me Clay I gotcha, thanks for y’alls inputs. Gonna put one or two in my spread when we hunt layout boats for divers... main reason I got them, gonna give it a try. If it doesn’t work oh well 🤷🏼♂️ got them for 1/2 off couldn’t turn it down lol
All a guy needs is a dozen early season teal decoys, and a half a dozen mallards. Set them in a good area and keep em moving somehow. Dont even "need" a call. Most duck hunters could kill more ducks if they kept thier decoys moving and leave thier call at home. Ive yet to see live ducks screaming at every duck that flies by ...
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR ALWAYS DROPPING YOUR VIDEO SUGGESTIONS DOWN BELOW!
BobbyGuyFilms if you could do a how to set them out. Like a J form or how you do a small duck decoy spread would be really helpful
Bobby love everything you do for us beginners. You flair and josh from outdoor limits got me duck hunting. And good choice of music for your outro. ADTR is an awesome band.
Right on man! Glad you like the jams

This upcoming season it would be cool to see a field duck hunt thanks for the good videos keep it up!
I did on last season it was amazing
For public land pack in hunting i got the mojo greenwing teal. A little smaller, and still highly visible
Flambeau decoys have started making 12 packs of Univision mallards again. 29 bucks. When they quit making them they have been as expensive as 120 dollars each. Just started hunting ducks and geese. Found your channel. This video was really helpful.
I'm ready for the hoodie season

Thank you Bobby for keeping my mind sane til early honker season!!
can you do a how to on early goose decoy spreds?
That's hilarious! I went up to Indiana for opening day to shoot some Woodies for mounting and though I was hunting a private lake, there were 3 or 4 groups out and 1 was hitting the call hard, hard all morning long and we didnt touch our calls and limited out within the first 2 hours!
Video on honker setups and where to place certain types such as sleeper shells, lessers in spread.....

I’ll keep ya fed!
Great video. I’m a beginner duck hunter. This season was my first ever. Facebook Markertplace is also a good place to find gear. I scored 2 and a half dozen mallard decoys for $40.
Can you do a video on the main basic calls you use to public marsh land hunt so I don’t go out and buy unnecessary ones
I've had 20+ ducks land over six mallard decoys. Most I've ever had come in on the river, all because I had them in a decent current which created lots of movement. Hey Bobby I just got those decoys I am getting into duck hunting and they were a great price thanks for the help is there anything else you recommend
Excited about your public marsh tips!

Couldn't agree more about guys over calling!
Maybe a video on public marsh etiquette?
Good idea
Pick up your shells, try not to skybust and just don't do stupid shit
Roostersnake chill out brotha
Roostersnake if you don't like the videos then don't watch them and make comments to get attention Bobby is just doing what he loves and hes sharing his passion to hopefully help out people
I'm no where near butt hurt just saying you don't have to come in here swearing up a storm if he decided to bring the dog so be it
Do a whole beginners series like video I haven't hunted much but I wanna learn more about the mallard and wood duck... please
Bobby your awesome man. I have watched every episode you got. But I really would love to see a vid on how to set up goose silhouettes in the field or the mud flats. Been getting big into goose hunting lately and would love some pointers from you. Thanks Bobby catch you on the next one peace
Hoodie weather means duck season so yes I miss it
Lol u said it
what you think about the new mojo flockaflickers? maybe an alternative to the big spinner mojo
6 teal 12 malard, two caribiners 1.5 inch. decoy cord and 12 Oz weigjts. And three mojos two mallards one teal. A bag a thermos, shotgun and shells and a ghilli suit.
Oh and the best chingy shades you can afford
Please make a series on building a duck boat
Great advice for those starting out!
Can you do a blowing stuff up with a shotgun video, (showing water fowl loads at different ranges), that's always fun
Would you recommend a double reed or a single reed duck call for a beginner for their first duck call? And what brand do you recommend starting out on?

Digging the video. Thanks for helping me bag ducks with the video education
Hell ya glad i can help
Best calling advice I ever got was “call at the tail feathers”. If the birds are coming at ya, keep you mouth shut and your head down
Bobby this like all your videos helps me. Please keep them coming. #DUXRocks
Thanks bro
I'd pick up the GHG puddler pack with 2 teal 2 gadwall 2 pintail to get a good verity
Good way to go!
Do you run goose floaters in your water spread?
Do you put all 3 different types of ducks in one big spread? Or are you putting them in little groups ?
So bobby when I’m hunting for ducks on one of my own property and I have 18 hen and drake mallard ducks and 12 wood ducks would I want to put all of them out in one big spread or in two separate spreads or just put 6 hens 6 drakes and 12 wood ducks ? I would like to know your opinion so I can become a better waterfowl hunter please, and thanks for your time.
Make a vid on your opinion on the best state to hunt in. I hunt Iowa and love it but I was thinking about Arkansas being the best
Ok, so I have been trying to figure out how to combat the thick thick marsh muck up here. It's like 3 feet maybe more deep. Like every marsh I've ever been to. Hoodie weather!!!!!!
Awesome vid this just makes me wanna go out and hunt right now
I know right!!!
Where did you get your teal decoys?
What kind of decoy spread would you recommend for big water? I live in MN and I hunt big lakes out of a boat. We shoot puddlers and diver ducks. Thanks love you're vids
What area are you in? Im up by orr. Killed 3limits of ringbills/mallards/woodies with the 28ga this weekend.
buy used from fb or cl. 3 dozen less than $100, from multiple sellers. and some awesome old school Styrofoam ones.
love using coots in Tx. some times thats all i put out.
Tips and tricks for leading ducks and geese
Bobby how do you get geese to land in a field without a lot of feed ? Like a cut Timothy field
A video on your layout blind would be helpful looking for a new one.
do you rig the decoys on the front and tail end? or only the front.People have different opinions on this what is yours?
BobbyGuyFilms, can you use a dove mojo to draw attention to mallards?
Absolutely!! Just depends on how pressured the birds are is to how they may react to it
I live in southern Wisconsin, so probably less pressure during the migration.
Another great vid Bobby keep up the good work👍.
Glad you enjoy man thanks!!!
Is this dozen the same dozen you would use early season, all season, teal season, etc? Given the same public hunt constraints you outlined. Great info. I’m specifically trying to get my twin boys out early season before the pressure ramps up. Hillsdale lake area, NE Kansas.
Early season then add to it
You need a jerk rig before a mojo
Very good point
what do you think the best new England mix of decoys I should use be?
You don't always have to put out decoys or call if you know ducks are coming and you can get close enough to the spot they want to be. Limited out a many a time with decoys and calls at the house
Do u group ur dekes together by species in the spread or mix together
I know it would be more editing but why no shotkam? Just sayin. Love your videos as is keep it up. But you really should use a shotkam too. 🤘
Is it time for you to get new decoys looking to buy
Thoughts on flock-a-flickas? Just bought a pack of 6 on a good deal
They’re good for small ducks, pigeons... not big ducks
For mojos just get the teal. They're cheaper and the ducks don't give a damn whether they are teal or greenheads. Even dove spinners work on ducks.
When should you call to the ducks?
Always helpful
Hey I'm from California and spinning MOJO ' S scare the ducks away. What should I do
Great video. Keep it simple!
Can you make a video on how to find a spot on google maps or even on x maps
How do you set up your mojos if there is no wind
great video bobby.
Thanks!!
Hoody weather 💯💯💯💯
When’s the bullfrog giggin video comin?
Soooooon
Love your vids
Thanks man!!
How do you rig your decoys
Yes the yo yo yo 😂😂
Yo yo yoooo ctfu every time!!!!
Aren't your mojo wings on backwards at 2:30???
Awesome, thanks for great content
No problem!!
Another great video always learn alot can't wait till duck season
I ordered a dux camo hat and it hasn’t come for a month
Great vidja ole son.
Thank ya
Please do more give aways
What would 2021 Bobby tell the Bobby in this video?
man go bowfish, pick up on the gang
Every time I use a spinning mojo the ducks flair off of it
Jerk rig > mojo
All a guy needs is a dozen early season teal decoys, and a half a dozen mallards. Set them in a good area and keep em moving somehow. Dont even "need" a call. Most duck hunters could kill more ducks if they kept thier decoys moving and leave thier call at home. Ive yet to see live ducks screaming at every duck that flies by
...
Am I the only one wants to see the pictures lmao
I like the vedios but some new content would be great
