Taekwondo goes Professional at the World Taekwondo Tour in Mexico City November 14th. Each competitor must attack during a 10 Seconds period during each round. Every attack RESETS the 10 seconds Contdown Clock. IF the 10 seconds clock runs out is a penalty Point. The winner takes $27,000 USD cash price. This is the Final Match between Steven Lopez from USA and Aaron Cook from Great Britain. Steven Lopez gets knocked out by a kick in the face.
La liga mundial de Taekwondo celebrada en la ciudad de Mexico con un premio de 27 mil dolares para el primer lugar en cada categoria. Cada competidor en un Round de 2 minutos tiene 10 segundor para realizar 1 ataque, cada vez que el competidor realice su ataque el reloj de 10 segundos se resetea y vuelven a comenzar otros 10 segundos para efectuar un ataque. Despues de casi ser noqueado por el iranì , Steven lopez en la final hes finalmente noqueado por el joven competidor Aaron Cook con un patada en la cara.

It is a disgrace that Aaron Cook was not selected for the Olympics to represent Great Britain. In my opinion he should emigrate to another country of his choice and represent them in the next Olympics. Not to choose the number 1 ranking athlete is a joke.

It was a good kick. But the excessive celebration when an opponent is down is not in keeping with the spirit of what TKD is about.
Pretty much the opposite, you should celebrate for this reason.
that kick is wicked. i saw stephen lambdin do that same kick on a kid a while back. the left leg whipping up to the jaw is deadly...

I think there are two takeaways from this fight:
1) Check out Lopez' footwork at 5:20. He glides back out of range, floating from a horse stance to modified front stance, so he can throw a powerful kick to the body. That footwork should be practiced by anyone serious about fighting. Start close to a heavy bag and move back and away as you kick.
2) Ducking in TKD is a bad idea. If you must duck (say from a spin hook kick towards the back of your head, duck and back away.)
Not an easy kick to place with precision and power.
Aaron Cooks tactic during a lock in "Chest plate to chest plate" moment is to throw himself back and use the momentum of the fall to his advantage as he channels the downward force to his feet as he delivers the "Kamikaze" kicks as i call them with gr8 power.
Watch his vids he does it alot!
Cook showed no mercy, it is a pity there's a lack of interest in the human condition of the opponent. There's a lack of respect. Celebration would have been right in due course.
I agree, Ive trained with Steve and to be honest, I think he's the best. Not sayin Aaron isn't good, cuz he is, but steve is in a class of his own. He just got caught, it happens to everyone.

Actually Steven Lopez is a pretty lay back guy.! Down to earth or wahtever you want to call him. Steven Lopez is not the worst TKD player because he was knocked out! And Aaron Cook is not the Best Out there Yet, just because he beated a 5 time World Champion.
