K_Q_ J_H whatever floats your boat. i have a new iPhone 6S for work (my second iPhone) too and absolutely HATE it. I can list 10 reasons why a galaxy s7 edge or my V20 destroys my iPhone...but its all subjective.
K_Q_ J_H go for it and none of this "iOS just works" bullshit because it seems like every software upgrade is a mini catastrophe and my first iPhone 4S had to be replaced at 6 weeks due to software issues. 10 SOLID reasons. bring it
And easily repairable. Everything except the camera glass was screwed on or clips. Had mine for 4 years and only gave it up because there were no more lg replacement screens and the aftermarket ones were so weak it broke underneath my tempered glass screen protector
This guy is the man! I'm always anticipating on these videos. Can't wait for the pixel xl! Thank you Jerry and keep doing what you do best!!! You're amazing.

I'm trying to find out how you got one from T-Mobile so fast I love the video I ordered mine on the 18th with next day delivery and still waiting keep up the good videos
Going on just shy of 4 years with this phone. Kept in otter box most the time and dropped daily. Jas been dropped a good 10 to 15 times no case. Just broken screen protector and chipped the plastic around the outside. No issues minus I just replaced my battery this week for it got soaked in a bad rain storm while on the bike. Anyways this phone is rugged and never misses a beat. Have had phones explode from over dropping but im pushing close to 1000 drops easy with this phone amd no issues. Great phone wish the camera was easier to use for the not so smart phone users. And jerry thanks for everything you do for us we appreciate it.
i have seen a whole iphone screen do it. she set her phone down on the counter and couple seconds later the whole screen just spider cracked everywhere and it was audible lol.
I accidentally dropped my HTC 10 from like 1,5m high, screen didn't crack then but about 6-8hrs later it just cracked without a warning when I was browsing the internet. The most WTF moment I've ever had :D The frame must have got slightly bent and the screen couldn't just handle the pressure.
I've had my v20 for 3 years and just got it replaced with a one plus 7 pro. The poor thing lasted 2 1/2 years before even scratching, denting, or cracking despite the amount of times I've dropped and manhandled it.
I'd love to see you do a splash test on this phone. Obviously it will fail a full-on water dunk test fairly quickly because it's not IPX-anything rated, but would be curious to see how it handled light water like rain drops or a splash from someone in a nearby pool kicking water up, etc.
Just ordered this on AT&T. Thank you for your work jerry! I was going to get the note 7, but I think this will be a great replacement and will live over my 2 year contract.
when he said "since that happens" almost as if he remembers a moment he dropped his phone in the fire and may or may not have it fully recover like some lucky fools
you may think that the plastic seems to have disappeared in the LG V20, but it’s not completely the case. The top and bottom elements in the front are still made of very durable Silicone Polycarbonate (Si-PC) normally used for helmets. They are painted with a metallic color that makes them blend in near-perfectly. They will absorb shocks around the screen to avoid glass compression, which is the main cause of cracks during a drop.
Thanks for the video, Jerryrig. My V20 arrives on Monday. Sadly, my wife says a 5.7" is too big and thus she has an S7 coming. Mine is replacing my Note 3 which after 32 months is still operating fine, but well outdated. Her s5 meanwhile is just a horrible phone and glad she can get something better. From your video I agree it appears the rear camera lens glass covering is the weak point. However, I'm hoping its better than that which was on the Nexus 6p, which is one of the main reasons I didn't buy a 6P. That glass breaking on the back was a huge deal breaker. I have a case on it's way for my v20 which will provide a buffer zone for the rear glass on the v20 so I'm hoping the rear glass will be a non-issue. Again, thanks for the video!
Eryche Bandy LOL. You know what I find funny. On the 6p he went to a level 8 pic and I think a 9 not sure about a 9 but I know he went to an 8 and it cracked. No other phone he took to an 8 so they didn't crack. And on the V20 he took a pic to the camera. He didn't do that for any other phone. He may say he is in biased but he sure is.
you don't mention dropping or screen cracking but it is something i care about I think the plastic end caps and the removable battery setup actually absorb and disperse impacts better than most phones, sure the phone spills it's guts on the ground when you drop it more than a couple feet but at this point i'm not even worried when i drop it.
I loved my V10, then it got a bootloop error 3 weeks after the warranty expired. I'm here because no one seems to know if the V20 will have the same issue, although it looks like it will.
I would wait, except I am using an old phone and the switcher promotions end in a few days. I was going to switch to less expensive service to make up the lost money on the V10. The V20 appears to have the same issues. It's not a matter of looking at it either. It may happen again and again or it may not ever happen, but there aren't many verifiable sources to answer that question. I use my phone for work pretty much all the time, to get to the places I need to go, to collect data and complete projects while I'm there, to fill out forms and submit data later, and to get back home. I like larger phones because they help me get my work done, and a good camera is required, but if the V20 just dies every 3 months it's not worth it. There just isn't a good option for me right now.
Hi Zack i am currently on iPhone since launch of iPhone se and honestly it runs no better than nexus.. also it lacks many basic functions compared to android. In my opinion android is better and definately is not slower or less smooth than iOS. It's a myth since people tends to make an opinion about something by judging it's initial phase and well after launch android was slow.
Hi sir, I really like your videos and most of the time I select my phones based on your durability videos. Now since LG V30 launched, I am waiting for your test and verdict, only after which I'll make my decision. Thankyou for making such videos. Hope to get the V30 video soon. Cheers and have a great day !!!
I love your videos, they're so interesting. I've been watching for a while now. But one thing about all your tests: they hurt me on the inside. The scratching of the aluminum, screen, plastic, fingerprint scanner, the CAMERA! THE BENDING! IT ALL HURTS!
I have watched your videos for quite some time now and have seen you deface phones a plenty for your test . The information you give us viewers in great . One thing I am interested to know though is how can you afford to do this to all these phones . I would think you are sponsored somehow
I have had an LG G3 for two years, with a tempered glass front protector. Dropped it several times including on ceramic tiles. Not a scratch yet. Great phone. These tests will make any phone look bad.
I dunno about you, but there have been some phones that went through his exact same torture test and passed with flying colors. Not all phones look bad under the worst case scenario.
can confirm owned a lg v20 for a while and the back glass for the camera cracks easy but there is replacments here and there for a few bucks that seem to hold up better so far
Lol I enjoy watching these videos to see the durability of the products he features but every time he takes a knife to them and begins scratching, a small part of me dies a little.
Thanks for the test Zack, but the biggest issue with this phone isn't the camera lens. it's the infamous Bootloop that haunts all recent LG flagships (G4 V10 and G5)
+Django Marine In a day of phones lacking removal batteries and now lack fucking 3.5mm jack and seaming less new camera sensors without optical stabilisation, LG made the best choice to just include all of that into a nice packaged, be nicer if it was made like a Nokia Lumia 720 but I suppose sometimes one cannot have it absolute all.
Oh! I didn't guess this one :/ I also dunno what to think about its structure.. Btw that time difference kills me, rarely can I see new vids when they come
I think the plastic bits make the phone a bit nicer too look at though. maybe a bit better to hold horizontally than metal? idk. I'm not a huge fan of LG phones, but it's quite nice to see a removeable battery. I think it's stupid NOT to have this. I have fixed my phones three times, just by replacing the battery. which was rather cheap. As always great video!
That camera glass break though! That was weird and awesome that you caught it on camera! I still can't wait to see the Pixel test. I am really hoping it does well since I pre-ordered it. If not well then I will have to be careful for the next 2 years.
As soon as I saw "Jerry Rig Everything," I subscribed. I am so sick of peopel making repair vids based on a factory replacement of components. Replacement is not repair. Screw the V20. I want the V34. The Japanese exclusive that is _waterproof_.

it's a LG exclusive phone that is releasing onlly in japan. It was waterproofing and dust resisent plus a smaller screen and the same specs as the LG V20.

***** how big the screen? 5.5?

I have never ever seen anything like that, when the camera glass broke by itself.
"Spontaneous Camera Glass Fracture" the Nexus 6P also suffered from this disease.
ismeretlen krisztian you should send this to LG to fix this flaw this is major
i have seen a whole iphone screen do it. she set her phone down on the counter and couple seconds later the whole screen just spider cracked everywhere and it was audible lol.
