I don’t use a pin brush like yours,I use a slicker brush but brush my Hannah the same way. I’ve had Keeshonden since 1982. Hannah is my 7th . Wonderful companion dogs.
I feel like a walking ball of hair constantly. I have a Keeshond as well, very sweet kind boy (2 years old). Although I vacuum daily and I do brush him every few days, the fur is EVERYWHERE!!! All my black clothes look faded due to some significant fur amounts on them at all times. I love my child (my fur baby) and living in a cloud of fur is a price I’m paying, I guess 😂
Any tips for grooming a crazy pup? I get the idea of rewarding good behavior with treats but my kee just tries to bite the brush the whole time. I have only been able to successfully brush him on a grooming table with a noose, which is not ideal.
How old is your dog? I started training Kumo to get used to grooming at a very young age. I started by getting him used to the idea of the brush, letting him sniff it, and doing just short sessions of brushing, giving treats throughout. Over time, he got used to grooming and now accepts it.
@kumoandsully1966 he is about 9 months. I have been grooming him since he was little so he is pretty to bath and dry but had never liked brushing. I probably just need to work with treats more
Mine is the same way. He will only tolerate longer brushing if he’s outside. If I am in the house he just tries to bite the brush or spins in circles. I was taking him to groomer but I have invested in everything I need from bath, blowout, trimmer for pads of feet, brushes and combs. He absolutely hates his nails clipped

I made a video about the tools that I use to groom Kumo: Tools I Use To Groom My Double Coated Keeshond Dog! ua-cam.com/video/ZxWQ_BNUgUE/v-deo.html I don’t recommend cutting their fur bc it doesn’t usually grow back correctly, and their outer and undercoats work together to heat and cool them.
Kumo has such a beautiful thick coat and seems to enjoy being brushed. 💙
That is so precious how he just plops on you after treats

Do you trim his nails at home? It would be great to see a video of that since I’m not quite sure how to do it
I do! Here is a link to the video: How To Trim Dogs' Nails With A Dremel

What size pin brush did you buy? 20, 27, or 35mm are the options I see.
I use a 27mm.

do you shave his paws
I don’t. I know that some people do, but I love his furry paws.
Lucky you. My keeshond hates being brushed. He will let me brush his teeth though 😂

Poor Sully…… he’s naked.
Get a grooming table. So much easier to brush the dog. I'm on my 3rd Keeshond. I got tired of brushing the dog on the floor.
I got a grooming table initially, but Kumo never became comfortable with it. He prefers being groomed this way.
They are Ford of dogs . Fix or repair daily.
