I hope you all enjoy the video! Be sure to check the description where I clarify/elaborate on a few things in the video, as well sources for more information. The Matoran Universe timeline especially is an incredible resource so be sure to check it out. This is a huge topic so it was a bit daunting to start with, but a lot of fun to research and make. I'm having a rest now and will be away for a week, but there'll probably be one more video before Christmas. Cheers everyone!
Nidhiki always struck me as someone who's loyalties lie with whoever is the strongest at the moment. So seeing all those toa reinforcements would definitely convince him to say
It might have made him stay for the time being, but with such a shaky sense of duty, especially compared to Lhikan, I feel like his eventual defection to someone else was just waiting to happen
That would certainly be interesting. The story of the Toa Mangai really is quite a tragic one; with most of them being hunted down and killed while 2 ended up being traitors.
Given Nihdiki's past with other toa teams and his past on the Tren Krom peninsula I'd say if he went to the Docks with Lhikan and saw all those toa reinforcements then I'm sure that all Nihdiki's plans to betray the toa wouldve fadded but maybe a sliver would remain since if he was still a toa by the time the rest of the Mangi were being wiped out by Eliminator then Nidhiki would've had a new sense of trechary thinking that he and Lhikan couldn't take on Teridax and the dark hunters at once
Man, this really makes Likhans life a tragic one. Betrayed by two of his closest team members, the rest are killed off one-by-one, a veteran of a war that saw nearly a hundred other toa killed, leaving him alone to face the encroaching darkness. He then sacrifices everything to save the city he called home from Makuta, only for it to be abandoned and taken over by another invading army. Also, do you plan on covering the Dark Hunter-Brotherhood War and the OoMN-Brootherhood War?
@@arbitrary2868 Agreed on all your points re Lhikan! His unwavering devotion to duty despite his unfortunate life is admirable and makes him one of my favourite characters. I do have something in my list of video ideas concerning the Brotherhood-Dark Hunter War - but it may not be a timeline format like this one. Thanks for watching
I think he wouldve stayed had he gone with likhan. Seeing a few hundred more toa wouldve likley convinced him victory was achievable. And there was nothing particularly treacherous about him before hand either. At least to my knowledge.
There were a few moments of foreshadowing; he briefly tried to take the Nui Stone for himself after Tuyet's defeat and he frequently disregarded Lhikan's commands during his career as a Toa. He also didn't have quite the same attachment to Metru Nui as Lhikan did. Given that he also tried to leave the Dark Hunters shortly after he joined them, I think he always had a slight predisposition for disloyalty.

I would love to see a Au universe where nidkhiki had never betrayed Lhikan

@@DaBIONICLEFan I think I may word on a fan story of a alternate universe where nidhiki never betrayed his team and didn’t join the dark hunters

Sweet, looking forward to it!
Also, dang it, I misspelled his name yet again.
