@@mythlessrwf but in theory you won't need as many different pieces of gear because you can change the main ability (for a ridiculous amount of chunks but still) So you can find some clothes you like the looks of and make the entire fit(s) to your liking.
I'd also like to point out: in splatoon 2 you were able to get tons of extra money by grinding salmon run past the main rewards, but in 3 this isn't the case anymore. In 2, you'd get a bunch of duplicate gear which could be traded for either 4000 cash, one gear chunk, or three chunks depending on how many sub abilities the gear had, but now in three the gear _always_ has sub abilities (either 1 2 or 3). So for players that play a ton of salmon run, they'll end up with much less money from it than they used to get from in 2 (but way more ability chunks by comparison)
You cant stack 2 shared gold tickets, buya shared gold and a shared exp can be active at the same time, so if your playing with friends two people can give all 4 both.
Worth mentioning that the amount of gold you get from salmon run can vary greatly. Ive seen shifts that gave me absolutely none and some that gave me gold in almost every capsule
The nice thing is you can also get food and drink tickets from salmon run. I am using drink tickets to farm ability chunks on my splatfest tee, so they are quite useful.
If you buy every piece of gear, every Hotlantis item 10 times, make every piece of gear 5 stars and unlock every title and banner, then the only use for cash will be for scrubbing and using the Gacha machine for tickets.
Just an fyi that one of the possible superbonuses in Salmon Run is just straight-up 32k coins. For comparison, raising a gear’s star power by buying it from the shop to unlock the FINAL sub-ability slot costs 30k.
This is great info! We also need to know how greatly the sub skill drinks effect the ability on a piece of gear! The best (and craziest) method to find this out might be to play 1 turf war game on 20 outfits of new clothing, so that your next 20 battles with the effect on will always level up your hat, shirt, and shoes. That's 60 new abilities, and a good sample size to test how greatly the drink effects new abilities. Another, more reasonable method, is to use the splatfest shirt and drink the same sub ability drink 3 - 5 times. Every 2 turf war games you should be able to scrub the shirt (with a minor loss in coins). So you could have 50 data after 5 drinks
Thank you for the info! Maximizing my time in game and profiting for gear, locker decorations, and those sweet sweet sub scrubs would do wonders. Your effort is appreciated ✨
This is a good video! Your analysis is very thorough. Love how you extrapolated formulas and then also checked them. The science part of my brain is very satisfied with your method!
Something you failed to address is the fact that splat zones in anarchy tend to result in fast K.O.s much more often, so you are more likely to get shorter matches and more likely to get K.O.s, making it the superior farm for both money and XP.
Just an fyi that one of the possible superbonuses in Salmon Run is just straight-up 32k coins. For comparison, raising a gear’s star power by buying it from the shop to unlock the FINAL sub-ability slot costs 30k.

In Splatoon 2 I was either broke or close to losing money, I have been playing S2 since October 2017. (Yes, I use money tickets, played Turf Wars, all of the Ranked Modes, and Salmon Run. There were still times I was broke or close to not having enough money.) In Splatoon 3 I feel like I have even less money. (Though I have just recently playing,so...)
Thank you for this! I wish this video came out before I just grinded turf war for a really long time for a 50000p pair of shoes I ordered. I missed the shoes. All thr grinding was for nothing!
I think that it’s hilarious that Nintendo made money irrelevant in Splatoon 3 by introducing Sheldon licenses, in Splatoon 2, the only thing me and my friends and everyone I knew would buy were weapons.
ty! now I get it why at the start sometimes I had xp up/money up effects, I thought it must be bonus effects when you are low level or smtn but must have been the team food XDD
Just remember to get the yellow bonuses for Salmon Run. If you're lucky, you can hit 32K per one. And Yellow Super Bonuses are guaranteed 32K! So if you aren't too big on Salmon Run, check the rewards to see if a super is yellow.
For me personally I found that playing ranked modes I'm good at in solo queue, usually not clams, solo clams is a nightmare. And having a coin boost on as well as everytime salmon run resets I play to 1200 minimum to get all the non gear rewards. As for spending this is what I reccomend. Buy every shoe, shirt, and headgear that you dont own and slowly get atleast 2 stars for all of them when they reappear and only get the 3 star on ones you're commonly using and then use the 5k in the capsule machine daily, doing this you should never be bone dry on gold
You pretty much said what I was thinking before I even watched this. It makes a lot more sense to play salmon run first then play a bunch of turf wars, that's a way more efficient way to make the big bucks.
Haha yesterday I needed cashable Nans did alittle bit of salmon run. I opened 3 rewards one of which was 36k coins.. that came in clutch as I only had a bit to play. So I totally agree with them on hitting salmon run up if you just have a little bit if time
Thanks for the guide! I'm juggling Splatoon with other games I want to play but I still want to be making as much progress as I can in the time I'm playing it. I had no idea Salmon Run was that good money wise
Glad it helps! I am in the same boat: Genshin Daylies, recording a pokemon run, recording splatoon stuff for videos, editing, etc... I wish I could grind all day long but I gotta be efficient if I wanna do everything
I play Salmon Run to get money and I gotta say it hasn't failed me in the slightest, I get capsules with 16,000 to 32,000 coins, currently I'm sitting with over 200,000 gold coins in total
the problem is that in turf war every second match or even more often people leave at the beginning of the match and the match gets cancelled Huge time loss

Yeah, this is the estimation I came up with. Step 5: Use the chunks you farmed from Salmon Run to reslot any abilities you don't like. Step 6: Play Turf War. Step 7: ??? Step 8: Profit.
I wonder if you could cheese this with a group of 8. You all circle the map with dynamo rollers the whole match. If you follow a pattern and don't fight, you could ink a huge amount of turf in total.
People have been doing a version of this with reflux, but its been confirmed this is against ToS and is a ban offense and there has been at least one ban for this.
I suspected the same result from the video. I didn't buy random stuff from Harmony but I ordered a shirt that turns out to cost 100,000 coins. That combined with clothing upgrades really hurts. Spent too much time on Splatoon today. Thank God Sheldon uses tickets instead of coins.
I am a math lover and I love to know every single factor that may change a result when doing a equation. Because of this I am VERY grateful for all your research on this topic and now you have very well earned a new sub 😄👍🏻
Thanks for the great video! I'm looking into compiling some more detailed data on the game, so I was wondering if you had any math/data from your testing sessions I could take a look at? In particular, I'm curious how you ended up at the figure of 4.5 min for the average Anarchy match. I'm looking to see if I can both maximize my return for playing the various modes and learn some cool things to hopefully share with the community. Thanks!
I just recorded all the info the game gives me after a match and used that as inputs. The 4.5 for anarchy is because the occasional KO or getting KOed in the first 2-3 minutes of the match. I've noticed overtime rarely runs longer than a few seconds at the moment. Either way, the 4.5 works as a "better case" situation, using the typical 5 minute game in the calculations make Anarchy even slower for farming coins.
If you must play Anarchy Battles to earn more cash, you can try Splat Zones. In my experience, they are often the fastest. You might want to not play on open if your rank is higher in the other rotation. You can also get four cash tickets from the single player mode. But you have to go through the entire world to do so. That might not be the best use of your time. Salmon Run is your friend here.
This is interesting, but it’s unfortunate they decided to use “turf inked” as the sole factor for turf wars. This kinda forces grinders to play a more limited set of weapons. Not that a e-liter 4K can’t paint, but sploosh is almost always going to cover more turf in a given game.
(minor s3 story / side order spoilers) small thing but go and fly out your drone in alterna every day, and if you have side order go buy random item from cipher every day too! i have received 30000 coins from cipher, and according to the wiki drone has 10% chance of giving you 10000 coins! even if it doesn't give you money it can give you ability chunks or food/drink tickets.
i recommend salmon run, i had like 1000 coins at first, and then after playing almost 6 games, i claimed my rewards and went to more than 100000, i even got to buy a 30,000 shell machine and still had so much money left over
Ever since the Splatfest began, I've been very curious about the data behind scrubbing your splatfest shirt, and which is the most efficient way to do it. 2k per scrub is peanuts so its easy to scrub it after 1 substat. [Which I assume is the most efficient.] But I'm curious about exactly how much time is being saved, compared to money wasted scrubbing after 1 each time, compared to waiting for 2. [3 is most certainly too much of a wait, but it'd be fun to know anyways] [When drinks are involved I have to assume scrubbing on the 1st is even better because lowering the needed XP each time means more rolls for the desired stat.]
I don't know the actual math but I do a few things. If I'm playing solo I often go for 2 before scrub. If I have extra time and a lot of money or I just really hate the roll it gave me I'll scrub at one sub. Playing with one friend changes things. I'll almost never scrub 1 and often push the scrub to rotations. 2 though is a good one to shoot for if they want to do the same. 3 or full squad I almost only scrub at rotation or communication error just because reforming is annoying af. If we do want to farm chunks we usually just do it at 3. I haven't done any of the actual math, just what feels annoying or not and leaving to talk to Merch is very annoying to me. For actual math you can think of it as buying chunks. 2k a chunk, 1k a chunk or 666 a chunk. Scrubbing full gear has a better price point but level three is such a time stretch that 2 is probably your best bet. When using drink tickets in 2 I'd always scrub immediately if the first slot wasn't what I wanted. Probably gunna do the same in 3 once I actually have money

What’s the best weapon to use to get most kills most splattered and more?
this was really helpful thanks! :)
Tysm Vasko!! We can always count on your for the real research ❤
3:07 Bold of you to assume I have those
This is a great video. I can’t wait for scarlet violet content.
So many good new games coming out aaaaaa!!!
Splatoon 3 Is the only best, you might be happy for scarlet violet content, but you like splatoon 3, don't you
That was not a threath
I don’t have solution three:(
i recommend salmon run, i had like 1000 coins at first, and then after playing almost 6 games, i claimed my rewards and went to more than 100000, i even got to buy a 30,000 shell machine and still had so much money left over
Ever since the Splatfest began, I've been very curious about the data behind scrubbing your splatfest shirt, and which is the most efficient way to do it.
2k per scrub is peanuts so its easy to scrub it after 1 substat. [Which I assume is the most efficient.] But I'm curious about exactly how much time is being saved, compared to money wasted scrubbing after 1 each time, compared to waiting for 2. [3 is most certainly too much of a wait, but it'd be fun to know anyways]
[When drinks are involved I have to assume scrubbing on the 1st is even better because lowering the needed XP each time means more rolls for the desired stat.]
