Coach told them who the designated PK taker was already. You want him to step onto the field and get himself sent off? Theo was most at fault for this fiasco. First for taking the first PK, and second for not telling Tammy off to give the second PK to Pulisic.
Milan made a huge mistake getting Abraham. He’s been a problem and a failure everywhere he goes. Fonseca needs to clean house at Milan. Get rid of Hernandez, Leao, Abraham and get some hard-working players. This season is lost.
One of the PKs was before halftime, the other was after halftime. DURING HALFTIME, Fonseca could have instructed all of his players that Pulisic should be on PKs. The fact that he didn't use that break wisely is his fault.
I have the impression this is something Pocchetino should talk about with the players. Tell them to play for the respect they are not getting. A good motivation.
Pulisic is 9 for 9 in penalty kicks (100 %). Abraham is 15 for 19 (79%) and Fernandez is 4 of 7 (57%). He is also their leading scorer and best player. Why on earth would they think either of them should be the penalty taker when their records are average at best?
@@thankyou8417 No, it's because he is an American. Messi is 5'6. If Pulisic was Spanish, Italian, French or English, he would get the respect he deserves.
They disobeyed the coach twice. The question shouldn't be "what is required for Pulisic to do?" That question should be on Theo and Tammy. The answer is obey the coach. Theo should lose the armband and Tammy sits for a few games
Yes. Exactly this. What Fonseca needs to do is obvious. If Pulisic as the most productive attacking player disobeyed the coach, then maybe the decision is more difficult. Tammy is easy. An unproductive, wasteful striker who was part of one of the most embarrassing things I have seen on a soccer pitch when Tomori goes up for a rebound so nobody but Tammy can get the penalty, which he then misses.
Theo will have to sit for two games, so Jiminez comes in. Abraham can come out, and RLC/Reijnders can play CAM. But you could also move Pulisic to the #9 and give Chuckweze a spin on the right wing.

This is like a scene from Ted lasso, and let’s be honest fik had been one the most underperforming players in the side all year and Tammy has been extremely ineffectual in the box missing sitters constantly. Contrast that with CP who has 8 contributions in 9 games!!! A you even fathom if those stats came from a non American player and this situation arose. No you can’t. Bc it wouldn’t happen. And what’s worse is Christian had a much better career at Chelsea than both Tammy and fik and he’s still looked at as not elite. Or he just needs consistency. Thats BS both are benched and mainly fik should be bc gabbia and pav bring more to the team anyway. Maybe after puli gets 35 GA he’ll be B considered elite. Or maybe we’ll just move the goalposts further
I don’t know if it’s in Pulisic’s best interest to get involved in any teammate controversies. He was not liked by his Chelsea teammates (he made way too many gestures of his displeasure). He’s doing well at a club that appreciates his play, and his teammates accept him.
It just shows that Milan coach was the issue not man enough and respected from members of the team and result speaks for it. I could see Pulisic returns to EPL next season if Milan still don't have a MAN in charge.
They're jealous the American is out playing them. Simple as that. Ironically, they made that point even clearer, that hes the best player on that team.
As an Inter fan, I am loving it. An in form Captain America is exactly what this mess of a squad needs to rally behind, and they dropped the ball. They have looked miserable in the Champions, and this issue only further exacerbates itself with the international break. Leao is not great in the final third, Morata has been Morata-ing and Tommy is incredibly inconsistent. As I said, I love it!
as a Milan fan, I completely agree. it took 2 incredible individual events by Pulisic and Gabbia to beat them...Milan would have gotten destroyed if it wasn't for Mignon, Gabbia (both defensively and offensively), and Pulisic....
Theo wears the captaincy because he sells shirts, not because he is a "good leader". We've seen his immaturity in the last world cup when he gave away a childish penalty. He has a narcissistic passive-aggressive style and he dives too much. I am glad he got a 2 game suspension for his silly red card. I would like to see him sit a few more and then moved at the transfer window. He's got $5,000,000 boots but a $0.05 head. Pioli deserves alot of credit for getting this team to 2nd place and a scudetto and he should still be there.
He hasn’t been there long enough or had enough sustained success to argue with the guys on the field. That being said, now that everyone knows he can’t let it happen again. He’s in a crappy situation. If he misses his next penalty it’ll be a mess.
the elephant in the room is that there is a certain kind of anti-Americanism in European football and he's not very much respected. It's like a totally different mantra as compared to his clear leadership role on the USMNT. So, it's going to take a really strong character in that locker room to become wingman for Pulisic. I think this kind of thing points to a sizeable division in the locker room. I get this weird sense that it's quite fractious and the causes of it are selfish in nature. Pulisic handled it like an ultimate pro. You handle that in the locker room, and he took it for the team.
I think Calabria realizes how good Pulisic is and is going to bat for him. I've seen an evolution between those two from a guy (Calabria) that would play the ball more centrally to a guy that looks to feed Pulisic whenever possible....
Pulisic did the right thing by not adding more salsa to the situation and fighting on the field (like we saw with Chelsea last season). Manager said the right thing, and I seriously doubt there will be ANY drama inside the locker room. The coach made himself clear, none of the players beefed about it. It'll just be seen as a team mistake in the same way that conceding the goal would.
One thing I don’t see people talking about is the pressure on Pulisic now, everyone is gonna expect him to make the penalties now and if he doesn’t make them they’re gonna be like “see that’s why we didn’t let him take it”
Tomori, Tammy and Theo are gonna ride the bench for a series of games. Part of this in on the manager too. Do you think Pep, Mo or Klopp allows Tammy to sniff the ball in that situation? I think not.
If Fonseca wants to start getting that locker room to respect his decisions he needs to bench both Tomori and Abraham. Send a message to the players that that kind of selfish play and disregard for his orders is not acceptable.
Shaka for the win. He hit every point straight on the nose. It's not two, it's three, and all three are getting dropped, not benched, completely dropped next match, win or lose/get fired.
Having coached youth soccer, I feel like I've seen this before. Yes, the parents were often less realistic and more selfish than their kids. In this situation, each player had their reasons (certainly Tammy Abraham has been struggling to score and that is an awful headspace for a striker). They may have been selfish or to caught up in their desire to get the score. But too much of that can be a bad thing, not just for the coach but for the team. I have seen teams that improved by getting rid of their best player because that player was too selfish and self-centered for the team concept. AC Milan needs to put this behind them, get Rafael Leao going, and get back to being the team they can be. If that does not work, more than the coach may need to go.
I think Pulisic gets no respect by teammates all the time. Lot's of very selfish play on that team. Players are constantly auditioning for a transfer to bigger clubs.
Theo Hernandez took one to try and celebrate his birthday with a goal. Tomori gave Abraham one to try and support his boy with a goal.. pretty selfish play all round from a lot of players that should be putting the team first
Watching every AC MILAN game I’ve noticed Theo and Leao are amazingly talented players but they are extremely selfish and constantly take deep shots going for glory when the right move is to pass it off..
We can say all we want but tammy abraham had no business taking that penalty You’ve been here 5 minutes and you’re here on loan what gives you the courage to take away a teammate’s spot kick? Are you the main man now??
Fonseca doesn't have to worry about leaving Hernandez out since he capped off that craptacular game by getting a red card for mouthing off to the ref. What a donkey.
Picking up Tammy was there first mistake no where near Thuram, dordyk was cmn to Roma he knew he was fkd hopefully they see how awful he is after this.
I have said it for years as a Pulisic fan. He needs to be demanding and agressive. He needs to own the room and pitch. He has the talent to back it up.
Indeed. I made a comment reinforcing this point. Pulsic is weilding the big caliber guns right now and should carry himself accordingly on the playing field. Sometimes performing well isn't enough to get the proper respect. You have to earn it with character when dealing with spolied brats.
you're asking Joe Dumars to be Gary Payton. It's just not Pulisic's character. It's not saying he's weak. Quite the contrary. I always found him to be like one of those ' I'm going to prove it on the field" guys. And there is NO ambiguity about him, he is a total team player. You can see he owns that Milan jersey, and plays for thier fans. What else could you want out of an international player?
Messi is quiet as well. Quiet does not mean weak. Not comparing talent levels, but it is important to recognize that leading by example is just as effective as leading with words
@ryguyfryguy2 maybe I just defensive and assume that people treat him with disrespect is because of the anti-american bias in football. The game is filled with bullies and he has never stood up to them. Sometimes you have fight back to show you're not an easy target.

Coach told them who the designated PK taker was already. You want him to step onto the field and get himself sent off? Theo was most at fault for this fiasco. First for taking the first PK, and second for not telling Tammy off to give the second PK to Pulisic.
@OlioliOxinfree i can forgive that one just because it was his birthday but he should have intervened in the second penalty
Milan made a huge mistake getting Abraham. He’s been a problem and a failure everywhere he goes. Fonseca needs to clean house at Milan. Get rid of Hernandez, Leao, Abraham and get some hard-working players. This season is lost.
One of the many great things about having pulisic at milan is that espn finally acknowledges other clubs that aren't Barcelona or Real Madrid
One of the PKs was before halftime, the other was after halftime. DURING HALFTIME, Fonseca could have instructed all of his players that Pulisic should be on PKs. The fact that he didn't use that break wisely is his fault.
Good point. Possibly Fonseca was thinking Theo was the captain, and intended to talk to him in private.
Thank you Shaka for representing your country ...like wearing that CIC ....golden
I have the impression this is something Pocchetino should talk about with the players. Tell them to play for the respect they are not getting. A good motivation.
Don’t blame AC Milan, they were facing A beast in Goal De Gea
But would have been better if both penalties were missed by a designated penalty taker
Pulisic is 9 for 9 in penalty kicks (100 %). Abraham is 15 for 19 (79%) and Fernandez is 4 of 7 (57%). He is also their leading scorer and best player. Why on earth would they think either of them should be the penalty taker when their records are average at best?
Because he is a 5'9 American. They hate on us in the European soccer world. @CG68810
@@thankyou8417 No, it's because he is an American. Messi is 5'6. If Pulisic was Spanish, Italian, French or English, he would get the respect he deserves.
@@CG68810but the fans there love him
It is managers duty to decide who takes the penalty
It is the captain's duty to make sure the manager's orders are followed. Theo failed to do that. I would strip the captaincy off him.
@@JackSchitt-p9t Not only did he not do it but he was the one taking the penalty away from Christian.
@@markangelagirard9944 Puli is not a #9, he has no hold up play. His body isn't designed for it. He needs open space and to pick out passes and/or create chances...Milan needs a #9 badly right now though. Abraham has been terrible. After this, I would just bench him period...
Which is stupid. He's tied for 1st in goals scored and 2nd in assists. If he sucks i have bad news for the rest of the team... maybe the defense should stop getting scored on so much.
That defense is too leaky. Signing Emerson Royal isn’t going to do anything. Tottenham scammed AC Milan
@@PhilliesNostalgiaRoyal was awful that game
@@PhilliesNostalgia as bad as Royal is, at least he is a team guy and is better for the club right now than Theo is...until he gets his head straight....
Pulisic is consummate class. Full stop.
Think of how many more goals he could have scored had, say, Laeo so selfish and disrespectful of Pulisic over the past year-and-a-half.
Laeo has so many opportunities to pass to Pulusic but just takes the shot himself. No respect for Christian. It's so obvious.
They don respect Fonseca the tenn don have maneyer . is sad. Pulisic is the best
Maybe after puli gets
35 GA he’ll be B considered elite. Or maybe we’ll just move the goalposts further
Gabbia and Mike are doing very well to. Gabbia has been incredible as a matter of fact.
I don’t know if it’s in Pulisic’s best interest to get involved in any teammate controversies. He was not liked by his Chelsea teammates (he made way too many gestures of his displeasure). He’s doing well at a club that appreciates his play, and his teammates accept him.
LETS GO Herculez!!! con la camisola de Guatemala
As a Spaniard, the only advice I can give Milan is to never let Morata take a pk...ever.
Pulisic needs to pull out his Man in the Mirror shirt again for the next penalty. But this time its for his teammates.
How about De Goa had great saves. He had superb game.
Worse than this to me was that only two guys congratulated Pulisic on his goal. Usually a crowd of players does it. Tells me they don't like him...
I will remain quiet as I cannot defend this team
as a Milan fan, I completely agree. it took 2 incredible individual events by Pulisic and Gabbia to beat them...Milan would have gotten destroyed if it wasn't for Mignon, Gabbia (both defensively and offensively), and Pulisic....
First place who's bringing in to the Serie A
Take him back to where he belong to MSL soccer
Worst part of This drama is both missed penalty 😂😂
Just players being selfish.
What I will say, I don’t blame pulisic, but they wouldn’t have done that to Zlatan
Abraham and Theo should be traded in the next transfer window.
Shaka with the out-frickin-standing shirt.
He is a US player of course they won't take him seriously.
AC Milan Should send them away , they do not deserve tò play for a team 7 times european champs.
He hasn’t been there long enough or had enough sustained success to argue with the guys on the field. That being said, now that everyone knows he can’t let it happen again. He’s in a crappy situation. If he misses his next penalty it’ll be a mess.
Wait did somebody fart at the 4:08 min mark!?🤣🤣🤣
Thank you! How is this not the most talked about part of this clip?!?! 2 farts, no less.
😂
Well said Chaka!
Wow a football player without a huge ego! If this was any of the Diva footballers like Ronaldo, Mbappe, or Vini, they would have had a meltdown.
It's clear he needs to bench them.
the elephant in the room is that there is a certain kind of anti-Americanism in European football and he's not very much respected.
Shaka is on point!
One thing I don’t see people talking about is the pressure on Pulisic now, everyone is gonna expect him to make the penalties now and if he doesn’t make them they’re gonna be like “see that’s why we didn’t let him take it”
Shake, that kit is ype fire ngl
It's Fonseca's fault. He haven't been clear enough.
"Pulisic is the penalty taker." What's unclear about that?
@@sld1776Waiting until after the game to address it and not at half time before the second incident happened, no control over the locker room.
Tomori, Tammy and Theo are gonna ride the bench for a series of games.
Part of this in on the manager too. Do you think Pep, Mo or Klopp allows Tammy to sniff the ball in that situation? I think not.
Herc reppin the Guatemala Threads...MI RESPECTO!!!
Herc with the Guatemala jersey 🔥🇬🇹
If Fonseca wants to start getting that locker room to respect his decisions he needs to bench both Tomori and Abraham. Send a message to the players that that kind of selfish play and disregard for his orders is not acceptable.
Fonseca has no controll of the team. Leao or Puli should've taken the pens.
Shaka for the win. He hit every point straight on the nose. It's not two, it's three, and all three are getting dropped, not benched, completely dropped next match, win or lose/get fired.
Cant blame Pulisic when he not at fault
Same issue with some teams.
Crazy Stat…Christian Pulsic Has never missed a penalty kick for Club or Country
I have to wonder if Leao isn't part of the problem.
When devgea be a hero is a problem for other team
Ridiculous. Let the best guy take it. Abraham should be released for missing it and for not being a Milan caliber player
Let's be real, the players were trying to send a message to fonseca and the top brass.
That’s the tough way of learning the lesson. Two penalties were two goal chances, which could have won them the game…
I think Pulisic gets no respect by teammates all the time. Lot's of very selfish play on that team. Players are constantly auditioning for a transfer to bigger clubs.
Insubordinate players must be punished by the club. This has nothing to do with Pulisic.
I’m sure the coach talked to these players to never do this again
Good on Pulisic for keeping his cool. When Chelsea had this problem they all looked like clowns
Shaka needs to be a coach.
Theo Hernandez took one to try and celebrate his birthday with a goal. Tomori gave Abraham one to try and support his boy with a goal.. pretty selfish play all round from a lot of players that should be putting the team first
Wild disrespect to do it twice not to mention if anyone has any claim over pulisic its morata
could have been the circumstance, but few seemed that excited when he scored. Odd.
Watching every AC MILAN game I’ve noticed Theo and Leao are amazingly talented players but they are extremely selfish and constantly take deep shots going for glory when the right move is to pass it off..
ac milan deserves to lose because he denied pullisic taking the pen TWICE
De gea is good as always
We can say all we want but tammy abraham had no business taking that penalty
You’ve been here 5 minutes and you’re here on loan what gives you the courage to take away a teammate’s spot kick?
Are you the main man now??
Love me some Futbol Americas 💪🔥🔥
Herc that Guatemalan black Umbro jersey, tho 🔥 Autograph it, and give it to me? 🤪
This loss is all on Paulo Fonseca.
Fonseca doesn't have to worry about leaving Hernandez out since he capped off that craptacular game by getting a red card for mouthing off to the ref. What a donkey.
Tammy and Tomori NEED TO GO This will not go away. Tammy? You legit? Sit and think about your place
If im Paulo I'd bench Abraham and Tomori get rid of them in January
I haven't seen an old saints shirt in a long time. Sorry Shaka, that looks like a remake. Would give a lot of preps if you still had an original!
This is for all the TikTok football fans that talk down the importance of penalties. Free throws in the NBA are OK but noooo! Not penalties. Smh!
Picking up Tammy was there first mistake no where near Thuram, dordyk was cmn to Roma he knew he was fkd hopefully they see how awful he is after this.
Get Tammy tf outta this club bro
I have said it for years as a Pulisic fan. He needs to be demanding and agressive. He needs to own the room and pitch. He has the talent to back it up.
Indeed. I made a comment reinforcing this point. Pulsic is weilding the big caliber guns right now and should carry himself accordingly on the playing field. Sometimes performing well isn't enough to get the proper respect. You have to earn it with character when dealing with spolied brats.
So glad you clowns aren’t polluting the Chelsea fanbase anymore
you're asking Joe Dumars to be Gary Payton.
