2003 CL winners 2004 lost to Depor, by winning 4-1 first leg 2005 lost by winning 3-0 first half of the final 2006 lost semifinal 2007 Cl winners This team was legendary
You are wrong. Internazionale played 3 finals in the 1960's, they won '64 and '65 and lost '67. Juventus also played 3 CL finals in the 1990's, but only won in '96, and they should give that trophy back because it was proven that all players were full on doping
Juve 3 straight finals 95-97 Won 1 lost 2.. What others italian teams can’t repeat was: Milan 5 finals in 7 years 88-94 3 win 2 loss Lost to marseille & ajax
Capellos Milan went to three consecutive CL finals (1993 - 1995) at a time when only the league winners qualified for CL. His team also dominated Serie A back then, often clinching the title a few matchdays before the end of the season. And immediately after that Lippis Juve did the same from 1996 - 1998. Interestingly both Milan and Juve just won one of their three finals.
Spanked Barcelona 4-0 in UCL final in 94' with invincibles also under Fabio capello, sacchi smacked Madrid 5-0 in the semi as well I believe. Late 80s to mid 90s are AC Milan Prime.
He was one of the best players in the world during his prime. A great, complete goalscorer, but he was more than a goalscorer, covered a wide area, was dropping deep, getting involved in the build up, dropping to the wing... He was almost unstoppable during his prime. Was a big shock how he suddenly declined when he moved to Chelsea.
One of the few squads I can recall that literally had a 10/10 at every position. I would put the 2003 and 2005 teams up against any football team in history.
Interestingly the era of Capello's Invincibli often seems to be overlooked. Maybe because their style of play was less entertaining and spectacular than Sacchi's and Ancelotti's teams. But Capello's Milan in my opinion was the most scary one. They dominated their opponents and controlled the games almost perfectly, conceded very few goals and often clinched the Scudetto a few matchdays before end of the season. They played three consecutive CL finals at a time when only the national league winners qualified for the CL and they ended the era of Cruyff's dream team with their devastating victory against Barcelona in 1994. Back then there were European top teams and there was Milan, sitting above them. An absolute monster of a team.
@@Harry-tb8yo from what I've read, Capello is the one that really shaped Paolo Maldini into the beast. He's really young when Sacchi still in charge. Don Carlo really got the best fruitation in his time.
Juve were clearly more successful than them before the calciopoli thing. That Milan team was so great individually but they weren't so superior as a team actually if you look at their results. Only one Serie A in those years as said and that's the biggest failure. They were great in the Champions League though. 2 titles in 2003 and 2007, they lost the one in 2005 by a miracle and were quite close in 2006 and only knocked out narrowly by a great Barca team.
@@MaSp345 Yeah, they rate it as some mega allstar team that dominated everyone but that was so far from the truth. As I said, the names individually are super impressive, but they couldn't overpower Juventus in Serie A, while also in Europe theye weren't that convincing as many think even though they won 2 CL titles. But if you go back all the games in 2003 were so narrow. They barely beat Ajax with a lot of luck, got through Inter on away goal and beat Juve on penalties in the final when they didn't have their best player (Nedved). In 2007 they were already on a decline and the squad was old, it was a big surprise they even reached the final. Kaka literally carried them to the title with the season of his life. You have so many better, more dominant and more successful teams throughout the 21 century but they don't get talked about as nearly as that Milan team. Pep's Barca, Heiynkess Bayern, United 2007-2009, even Mou'ss Real was better but they couldn't win the CL, Enrique's Barca, 2003 or so Juve etc... SHEVCHENKO defines peak football in 2000s.
I didn’t know that Shevchenko was this good on his prime
He was a beast. Fast, strong and precise with both head and foot. One of the strongest and most gifted in the whole history of Serie A.
Sheva just iconic

He won ballon d0r 2004
Gilardino was considered a 'disappointment' at that time, but with his level of play, he would be an ace striker today.
