Never owned the XR variant of these but i had owned like 10 EA-ED Fairmonts. I used to basically hoard boxcars about 20 years ago. My family members kept asking why i just kept buying more. They just didn't understand how awesome these cars really are. Really miss them and wish i kept atleast two of them.
I have an ED XR collection. All in Lemans red. Man/auto XR6, Auto XR6 wagon, man/auto Sorints, Auto XR8 and a XG XR6 Ute. I have enough XR specific spare parts to build 2 from scratch.
My second car was a ED Fairmont in the same colour as this unit, brings back the memories! Fairmont interior was the finest in velour and even had the leccy windows. Dash and controls / stereo pretty much identical though. Love the review!
Growing up, I loved the EB ED falcons, even the interiors seemed cool. They also looked awesome roaring around Bathurst in Shell FAI livery, with dick Johnson and John Bowe at the wheel..
