One of my mates was a development tester for Ford, at the period when this car was made. We had a prototype to test and put kilometers on - he'd share the car with us and we'd all have a drive. One interesting thing to note - the engineers apparently tweaked the supercharger by removing some rubber seal which gave more whine. The production cars with the Miami engine were quieter. I remember my first time driving the Miami. It was a revelation compared to the old 5.4 and felt like an utter rocketship.
Great review of the XR8 Holy Grail. I didn’t know they only sold 47 of the 100 kits but it doesn’t surprise me. With the costs of the kit and some people wanting to keep their XR8 stock even if they could have afforded it. The kit sure transforms the car, power and handling wise. It’s a great looking and sounding car. Thanks for the review.
A great review of a special car... However an extra $45000 for a kit on a car was a big ask when the base car was just an XR8, as opposed to a production HSV... Ford and Holden both went out with a bang! Edit: This car has been driven a bit

Thats an insane car can't imagine going full pelt with a car like that. But at least it will stop proper with proper suspension, rear trailing arm upgrade, stiffer chassis. The stock one definitely wouldn't be safe with such a big power and torque hike. Only saw this in Motor Magazine. Ford should have gone out this way!

$$$$ and is just a kit at the end of the day. potential buyers probably didn't see the kitted cars holding value in the same way as something that rolled out of the factory as a limited edition would have, and that's half the appeal to those buying them I think. That said, the fact there is only 47 now probably will help their future value I guess
@@RossReviewsau just like you said ford should have made this I was little disappointed in the last gt falcon made a gtho version in the FG series custom interior build number through out when you turn on the car the ford digital display on the ICC FG gtho build number whatever gtho scuff plates gtho embroidered on the seats suede leather Alcantara steering wheel sports modes you can change yourself that's what ford should have done so sad it didn't go that way full bodykit custom wheels too big brakes but ford is finished I wish they did it 😢
The first time i saw that Premcar was maling these, I thought it was a travesty that Ford didnt go with this. But i wasn't suprised. The FGX didnt even get a marketing campaign.

The exhaust sounds pretty sick, like a manta, just a damn shame on the price, I guess they realise that now selling only 47 units, otherwise it’s a pretty damn perfect kit, having the piece of mind that fpv engineers tinkered with it.

The quietness of this car (Falcon/Fusion) is one of the things I like. But that's my wimpy American version. There isn't much to hear with a 4 or 6 cylinder, IMO. 🙂 With this model, ya gotta be able to hear the engine and exhaust! They should have removed a little sound insulation. I WANT ONE!!

Yes, Ford did a great job on the budget they had, no argument, but just like this awesome PREMCAR XR8 they never followed through when there was an opportunity to upstage Holden_ … _you can’t take away from GM the way they supported the performance arm of Holden, IMO_

Great review, at $45K it was a hard sell, so not surprised only half sold, also other than the wheels it looks like a normal XR8 or GT. Also, it wasn't exclusive to the FGX model, any Miami powered Falcon could get the kit, ie, FG GT, GS, GTP etc.
Cool vid Ross that FG-X is insane. I wonder what happened to the other 53 kits. When the XA GT-HO p4 was canned they had heaps of left over parts that I've heard found their way into normal GT's & Fairlane's etc.
they were made to order so if they stopped at 47 then that's it, remember these Premcar kits are not "official" Ford backed and Premcar waited until the 3 year warranty has ended for all FG and FG-X before they even announced that the "Holy grail" kits could be installed as Ford Australia probably told them that owners would loose warranty if they did mods to the vehicles. It's the same thing that happened to Peter Brock "HDT" when GMH told them no to the VL Commodore getting IRS for the Director and other Commodores that HDTwanted to do, the difference here is that Premcar waited Peter did not and thus would of voided warranty of those cars he did mod (some 14 that converted).

For 45k is a bit too much, for that money is could build an xr8 over 1000hp. There are places doing 1000hp kits for 25k and you will still have enough money left over. For 600hp plus people are only paying 10k to 17k. Depends where you go. I remember herrod did a package for 1000hp for 25k If you do handling upgrade, 3k to 4k on suspension and 3k to 4k on Better brakes. 25k+14k= 39K, still much cheaper.
You could do your self.. I will say tho this package works very well.. it’s not “over powered” for its handling.. you can throw this thing at full speed into corners and it just grips

Had a friend who predicted the end of ford and holden back in the 90s. We mocked him a lot. In fact, we mocked him for so many things that ended up coming true. It was fun and easy being in a team where any uncomfortable thoughts were dismissed as 'conspiracy theories', and I find thinking exhausting anyway. Nice Gen 1 Coyote / Miami. Went from 335KW to 480KW. Thought ZF 6 automatic from factory can only handle 420-430 Kilowatts max. Any-who love the Grunt and wine of 5.0 Super-charge coyote.
My old man had an fg gt with the supercharged coyote made 550rwhp with an exhaust and tune…. Absolutely nuts. Wish he had kept it but he sold it off for a measly 40k
Nice car and kit. But for that money a HSV GTSR W1 was bettter because it was all OEM. Also the LS9 the one that comes in the W1 that is a bone stock out of the factory crate engine LS9. No mods have been done to it. So imagine company like premcar took the W1 and did the same work that premcar did imagine how much power that LS9 would make? In the states we have LS9 with just a pulley and intake and header and exhaust and tune with is just bolt ons making over 1000 rwhp Not shitting on the Ford. One amzing car. But you habe to give credit where its due. The W1 is one amazing machine in stock form if your comparing a car with extensive mods to it. Just saying bro.

I’m sure this is to the wheels.. it has the dyno graph in the engine bay.. also just injectors fuel pump and a tune will get you about 600whp in a Miami
Hey want my car on your channel? Got a 2016 Chrysler 300 SRT 6.4L with a Procharger D-1X on it, pushing 878whp along with hellcat lifters, stage 2 cam MDS delete and rods using the 8 speed gearbox. Beaten M5 Competition (Stock) destroyed it C63 S (Stage 1 kit) he got eaten alive 335i N54 Single turbo with 650hp, he got beaten subi wrx sti 2016 (stock) eaten easily obviously. M2 S55 engine stage 3 built (Close at first then I pulled quickly) Holden W1 GTS-R (love these) but he got pretty much destroyed lol ( a lot more ) I've got beaten by 1200hp Ironz RS3 8V (That shit was fast but would of kept up if it was a 60km/h roll not from a stand still 😂😂 (Only car I've got beaten by but I was pulling on top end very quickly)
This is not wanky at all.. it’s over run.. natural sound of a hard working V8.. something like the C63S can sound artificial that’s one don’t like but I would argue this engine sounds amazing for a modern V8

the official line was that the GT-F was meant to be the pinnacle, there was never supposed to be a XR6 Turbo /8 Sprint, it was a last minute decision.
Man these Falcons sounds correct. I spent some coins trying to make my LSA sound decent. The M156 MB though is perfect from factory.

Its still running stock supercharger pulley which is abour 10PSI as to why you can't hear the supercharger😜‼️

Nice car and kit. But for that money a HSV GTSR W1 was bettter because it was all OEM.
Also the LS9 the one that comes in the W1 that is a bone stock out of the factory crate engine LS9. No mods have been done to it.
So imagine company like premcar took the W1 and did the same work that premcar did imagine how much power that LS9 would make?
In the states we have LS9 with just a pulley and intake and header and exhaust and tune with is just bolt ons making over 1000 rwhp
Not shitting on the Ford. One amzing car. But you habe to give credit where its due. The W1 is one amazing machine in stock form if your comparing a car with extensive mods to it. Just saying bro.

I’m sure this is to the wheels.. it has the dyno graph in the engine bay.. also just injectors fuel pump and a tune will get you about 600whp in a Miami

Beaten
M5 Competition (Stock) destroyed it
C63 S (Stage 1 kit) he got eaten alive
335i N54 Single turbo with 650hp, he got beaten
subi wrx sti 2016 (stock) eaten easily obviously.
M2 S55 engine stage 3 built (Close at first then I pulled quickly)
Holden W1 GTS-R (love these) but he got pretty much destroyed lol

This is not wanky at all.. it’s over run.. natural sound of a hard working V8.. something like the C63S can sound artificial that’s one don’t like but I would argue this engine sounds amazing for a modern V8
