@@WaveOvenRecipes Poor Jordan, kids are pretty sensible when we let them be. Tell him that you did have viewers that appreciated the extra effort though.
I just made bacon in the Bravo XL. I used regular bacon, don't like thick bacon. Place in baking pan, second rack position from bottom, 385 degrees for 15 minutes. Bacon came out crispy, and perfect, didn't require turning and not a bit of smoke.
I just bought the Nuwave. I cooked turkey bacon in mine with no problem. I added maple syrup and blackpepper. I put some slices in the fryr basket with parchment paper, and the rest on the broiler pan. Cooked it at 350 for 10 minutes, flipped and another 7. Came out well, with no smoke.
I use the cooking pan that came with mine. All I do is put tin foil in the pan set it to bake 400 degrees once preheat is done I set to 10 mins and haven’t had any issues hope this helps.

Bacon should be started in a cold pan. 300 or 325 F will take longer but it will get cooked nicely. A little spray of Pam on a pan that starts with stuff sticking will help. The roasting rack in pan is a good idea as he demonstrates. Flipping bacon over. I did thin bacon at 300 F. For about 25 minutes with no smoking. If you use a higher temperature then yes, be aware that chancing smoking. Even did thick bacon not long ago using the wire basket and pan it came with spraying Pam on wire basket using the lower oven temperature. Heavy duty foil to cover pan bottom for easy cleaning. Oven space with it is smaller than a conventional oven and even with a conventional I would consider 350 to not over 400 F. My biggest beef with the nuwave is the rack that I had to wrap some foil on each side to fatten it up to keep rack from falling out of rack slots with baking pan on it when getting out of the oven. If those sides were thicker the rack wouldn’t dangerously slip. The hook like things on the oven door I finally figured out was put there to grasp the rack to prevent slipping. But it isn’t easy to hook it or unhook it and still you can spill the food trying. Not much hand room to use oven mitts to grab the rack and food out. And my hands aren’t big. Bacon cooking tonight I left some of the foil I lined the pan with to use as a help to grab to pull out as a handle substitute.
In mine I never use foil on the bottom, but I did put the bacon on the black enamel rack inside of the black enamel pan like the instructions say and it worked out fine for me. I just put it in for more time than it says for when you use the regular bacon instructions because I like an extra crispy. However I think it was the best bacon ever. As far as smoking goes, bacon is just going to do that no matter what. When it comes to bacon, it's just going to smoke no matter where you make it or how you make it. For me it's OK. It cooks very fast. But even the new version of non stick coating are just as toxic. Google this "Breaking Study: Penis Shrinkage Caused by THIS Cookware" Dated Dec 5, 2018
But they're not _all_ the same. Cookers like the Power Air Fryer Oven use stainless steel crisper trays. No report of toxins there. Hope you get off that Teflon.
I suggest you take some time and do your homework. This new research came out this mouth and its in every new non stick cookware. They lied to us again. Ceramic Nonstick Cookware maybe safe from PFC’s. But I'm not 100% sure. Researchers from the University of Padua, Italy
I haven't had 1 bit of any issue with my oven . I suggest read your manual and read the back of the package of food you are cooking too. Check out all the buttons on your panel also. I know once you familiarize yourself with your oven and tring different ways, you too will grow to love this unit. I know sweety I have.
You're funny. You need to review my channel more. I am _very_ well read on the manual. ua-cam.com/video/WcwNaO0EyVI/v-deo.html And very familiar with the bacon I used. It is my intentional standard for cookers. It is not your Oscar Mayer thin sliced. It is large fatty thick sliced, to test how the cooker handles very fatty smoke possible foods. And if you check out other bacon cooks here, you'll learn some cookers do much better in this regard than others. I'm no novice with the Bravo. I made the first and have the most Bravo videos on UA-cam. ua-cam.com/play/PLdwaKyfn2J3rVMLvDT2rP36ij7jICSl9K.html
Look around here more. I cook bacon in many cookers and test their abilities. Whether one can or cannot do thick sliced bacon well hot and fast. Some cookers do exceedingly better than others. As for this particular cooker, see: ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html And for air fryer bacon cooking in general see: ua-cam.com/video/F0iBIVyZBoM/v-deo.html
Darnell, which fryer or oven would you suggest for cooking bacon on the regular? We just bought this one to replace our nu wave pro. We have a family of five so the drawer ones require multiple runs to cook food for everyone. I want to have just one appliance. We use our pro daily. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
Not all drawer air fryers cook bacon reliably. The _type of bacon_ is an important factor. While many cookers can cook thin sliced bacon just fine. When using fattier thick sliced bacon the results are not always the same. I use large warehouse club thick sliced bacon. I have seen even a drawer air fryer fail miserably with very large thick sliced bacon, see: ua-cam.com/video/YMg9U94Ifh8/v-deo.html And even that one can cook thin bacon, but not my bacon. The NuWave Bravo can cook thick bacon, but requires a slow and low approach: ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html And for many, that's just their normal style of bakng bacon. But I hit cookers with a hard type to do hot and fast, if they don't handle smoke and fat well. I would even say most basket air fryers are less likely to handle it hot and fast. Since basket air fryers can't handle much oil and neither can the NuWave Bravo. But many Air Fryer Toaster Ovens and Air Fryer Ovens can. ua-cam.com/video/iG6SuE9QugM/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/5AvmoQ3QiSQ/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/27PH6pa_4Ew/v-deo.html
I received my NuWave Bravo XL Smart Oven about three weeks ago and I have cooked bacon several times. I don't use air fry, I use the roast option at 350 for 9 - 12 minutes depending on the crispiness you like. It appears to me the air fry does not 'cook' the bacon, just , with the fan, it forces hot air over the bacon. There is no top or bottom heat source. The Roast option heat source is from both bottom and top at 100%. I just put the bacon on one of the racks and place it in the #2 position. I put a pan under the bacon on the #3 or #4 position. As I said previously, it takes about 9 minutes for the bacon to be like i like it. I did use the provided broiler rack once but found easier to just place the bacon on the cooking rack with a pan under. I DID NOT have any smoke at all with this procedure.. I am still trying to figure out all the nuances of pre-heat and starting to cook but I have enjoyed a steak I cooked and use the re-heat option quite often.. I would say that this video does a disservice to the Bravo.
Roast at 350° F. in 9 minutes 🤔 That's not exactly a repeatable feat it seems anyone else can confirm. But it does depend on your preference. ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html
I read them, doesn't mean they're always right. I do what works. If you doubt my level of knowledge with this product. You can see this playlist. And consider, the new version you probably have and was made recently. Is an updated model, in part from my findings here which the folks at NuWave keep up with. (See the dates for my videos.) But you carry on with your sarcasm. *NuWave Bravo:* ua-cam.com/play/PLdwaKyfn2J3rVMLvDT2rP36ij7jICSl9K.html
Use the air fryer rack in the middle ( put the bacon on the air fryer rack ) Then put the baking pan in the bottom remove the top part leave just the pan. Pour water into the pan half of the problem is the bacon is dripping down onto the foil and it's the oil cooking off of the pan when you do it that way that's making most of the smoke. Putting water in the bottom pan the bacon will drip into the water and not create smoke. This is the same method used for indoor open grills. The heating element Cooks the food and then the the grease from the meats drip into the pan below that has water in it and it creates no smoke. Pretty simple..
I suspect they made *improvements* when they released the "newer" version of the XL. Mine was of the original release. But a way to avoid smoke in most any is: ua-cam.com/video/F0iBIVyZBoM/v-deo.html
I put a paper towel on a microwave safe plate, I lay out 8 strips of bacon on the paper towel. I then lay another paper towel over the bacon and then put the plate in my 1100 watt microwave. I set the timer for 8 minutes and I have perfectly cooked bacon that comes out crisp and no grease.
It can cook bacon without smoke at lower temperatures: ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html This cooker can cook food from frozen: ua-cam.com/play/PLdwaKyfn2J3rG-yV5Vq9DZOQQ8h_eryar.html
My first thought? Why on earth is he putting the bacon 🥓 directly on the rack? I'd expect that to smoke. My second thought? Now that he has the pan why is he doing it on the bottom shelf instead of the center shelf, so the air circulates all around? Third thought? You'd probably avoid the smoke with a thin layer of water at the bottom of the pan. Plus, the bacon would cook better. Have you ever cooked bacon on a regular frying pan with water? It actually comes out quite well.

Darnel, if you alternate your bacon fat end meat end fat end meat end ect.... you spread the far melted grease rather than have all the fat at one end. Otherwise 👍🏻. Paula
That would not prevent the issue and is extra effort never needed with any other cooker. I doubt it would end the issue. Even if it worked, I would not do it. Either I can put down the bacon and cook it or not. This cooker is *not for bacon* .
See ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html Why use a baking sheet and have all that grease and fat in the meat? Nah, more healthful to avoid the sheet with bacon. Use something to allow that excess grease and fat to drain off the meat.
AIR FRY BACON How to prevent air fryer from smoking Update: after a few people have experienced smoke issues with this recipe, I wanted to share a few tips that will help prevent this smoking issue. Perhaps the easiest solution is to add a little water to the lower pan Alternatively, you can add a piece of bread to the lower pan to soak up the grease One reader mentioned he adds rock salt (not regular salt), like you use to make ice cream. The pieces are big enough that they won’t blow around from the air blowing in your air fryer, and they will soak up the grease. Use parchment paper to line your fryer basket. There are a few types of parchment paper that are made specifically for the air fryer. (Amazon affiliate) They are made specifically for air frying and have little holes in them to allow for air circulation. Check your specific model for the correct dimensions, as these can vary in size. There are several sizes of parchment paper available. Mediavine Recipes with Bacon

And very familiar with the bacon I used.

I have cooked bacon in my oven since the first week. Use the broiler pan and bake it. Perfect bacon, NO smoke. The ways he chose caused the smoke!!!!
Look around here more. I cook bacon in many cookers and test their abilities. Whether one can or cannot do thick sliced bacon well hot and fast. Some cookers do exceedingly better than others. As for this particular cooker, see:

And for air fryer bacon cooking in general see:

Great reviews. Great Shirts!
Thanks!
Thank you!
You may have the answer this weekend. Keep the Notification Bell on 🔔👍🏿
@@WaveOvenRecipes thank you!
The Drawer Airfryer cooks bacon perfectly, I have the power XL Airfryer
Not all drawer air fryers cook bacon reliably. The _type of bacon_ is an important factor.
While many cookers can cook thin sliced bacon just fine. When using fattier thick sliced bacon the results are not always the same. I use large warehouse club thick sliced bacon. I have seen even a drawer air fryer fail miserably with very large thick sliced bacon, see:
ua-cam.com/video/YMg9U94Ifh8/v-deo.html
And even that one can cook thin bacon, but not my bacon.
The NuWave Bravo can cook thick bacon, but requires a slow and low approach:
ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html
And for many, that's just their normal style of bakng bacon.

Roast at 350° F. in 9 minutes 🤔
That's not exactly a repeatable feat it seems anyone else can confirm. But it does depend on your preference.

Why doesnt he try reading the directions sent with the appliance? I think its great following directions

Use the air fryer rack in the middle ( put the bacon on the air fryer rack )
Then put the baking pan in the bottom remove the top part leave just the pan.
I just cooked bacon in mine yesterday on the airfryer setting. You use a small baking pan. It does not smoke.
I suspect they made *improvements* when they released the "newer" version of the XL. Mine was of the original release.
But a way to avoid smoke in most any is:
ua-cam.com/video/F0iBIVyZBoM/v-deo.html
I put a paper towel on a microwave safe plate, I lay out 8 strips of bacon on the paper towel. I then lay another paper towel over the bacon and then put the plate in my 1100 watt microwave. I set the timer for 8 minutes and I have perfectly cooked bacon that comes out crisp and no grease.
For getting it cooked in the Bravo:

Can it cook from frozen? I prefer the big boss air fryer.
It can cook bacon without smoke at lower temperatures:

This cooker can cook food from frozen:
ua-cam.com/play/PLdwaKyfn2J3rG-yV5Vq9DZOQQ8h_eryar.html
takes longer in this unit then my regular oven.
Unlike most countertop cookers.
Wish I would have watched these before I purchased this. My wife prefers our go wise air fryer so much better.
Bacon is doable, but it takes a while, see:
ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html
A go wise air fryer? I haven't heard of that one
It actually comes out quite well.
ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html
@@WaveOvenRecipes I was watching it as you responded. 40 min is crazy! 😂 I'd have to go with the 8min option even if it's thin.
A future video is coming using this method.

How does bacon do in the power air fryer oven? I love mine but haven't tried bacon yet
ua-cam.com/video/27PH6pa_4Ew/v-deo.html
Darnel, if you alternate your bacon fat end meat end fat end meat end ect.... you spread the far melted grease rather than have all the fat at one end. Otherwise 👍🏻. Paula
That would not prevent the issue and is extra effort never needed with any other cooker. I doubt it would end the issue. Even if it worked, I would not do it. Either I can put down the bacon and cook it or not. This cooker is *not for bacon* .
Eeep!! No baking sheet? That was hard to watch 😶
See ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html
Why use a baking sheet and have all that grease and fat in the meat? Nah, more healthful to avoid the sheet with bacon. Use something to allow that excess grease and fat to drain off the meat.
AIR FRY BACON
How to prevent air fryer from smoking
Update: after a few people have experienced smoke issues with this recipe, I wanted to share a few tips that will help prevent this smoking issue.
Perhaps the easiest solution is to add a little water to the lower pan
Alternatively, you can add a piece of bread to the lower pan to soak up the grease
One reader mentioned he adds rock salt (not regular salt), like you use to make ice cream.

No, they do not.

Maybe don't take the rack out with the grill pan
The rack holders were defective and I got a replacement, that holds the rack much better.
But regarding bacon, see: ua-cam.com/video/nHsWn_wOLK8/v-deo.html
No kidding. You can pan fry or use a regular over and get it done in 7 or 8 minutes. What a bunch of f---g around!

Can u comment on the California Cancer warning and birth defects sticker on the product. Is it really safe to cook from this oven.
I can only say, I don't live in California. You should speak to your doctor about your concerns.

Don’t cook in it,period

You put bacon on a pan!!! Cooked tons of bacon in convection ovens and must be on a sheet pan!
No.
You cook yours however you like.
I don't want mine swimming in grease, very unhealthful.
