I loved this masterpiece from day one in ‘84. It pissed me off when reviews said it was almost good & it failed. It should have been hailed as VENOMS finest work & it’s good to see people getting into it now.
The intro and outro alone could be short movies. Some serious thought went into the wording alone and despite how great this song is, it would be incomplete without the intro/outro
Except when it came out, the intro wasn't on this album, but at the end of Black Metal. But yes, the lyrics to this song, and both into and outro were very well written. I never understood the hate a lot of Venom fans gave this album back then, it's a masterpiece.

I agree. Classic Metal has always represented what Metal means to me, personally. I’m not really into a lot of the newer approaches that certain bands have in modern death metal, black metal, and even modern thrash.

I cannot explain the expressions on peoples faces when the song came. Tow of the Three occasions, the owner or manager pulled the plug. Me and my friends demanded our money back and vowed never to return to the bar again. The downside, we had to find another bar that served $2 Pabst or Old Milwaukie's.

I hope this and a couple other of venoms songs get used in sci fi action flick. Imagine a movie about this album, with the movie centered around the song. Opening credits with Manitou walking in sunburnt hell, with that drumbeat. Then working its way to the climax with a full on battle between heaven and hell with this song playing in the background, but really fucking loud. Id go see it....

I hope this and a couple other of venoms songs get used in sci fi action flick. Imagine a movie about this album, with the movie centered around the song. Opening credits with Manitou walking in sunburnt hell, with that drumbeat. Then working its way to the climax with a full on battle between heaven and hell with this song playing in the background, but really fucking loud. Id go see it....

I was at a catholic school some time before this master piece and one funky morning after the break was over I stormed up the stairs to not be late in class... and bumped into the principal called SISTER ADELGUNDIS... she looked me deep in the eye full of typical catholic hatred... ate my soul... converted me to SATANISM... and scared the shit out of me that females can grow such an ugly moustache... anyways... years later I got hold of this marvel piece of art and started worshipping the devil on a daily base... Today I know that I would have ended in the nearest asylum... if these boys from the north had not taught me how to save my mental sanity. THX³ to CRONOS, MANTAS and ABBADON.
